Theres no way the VR38DETT is only 109lbs heavier than the SR20DET, PD's engine weights seem to be way off

SR20 is 328lbs w/o transmission.
VR38 is 608lbs w/o transmission.

And the VR30 is ~430lb... Similar argument could be had that there's no way the VR38 weighs 180lbs more than the VR30 it was derived from and very closely related to. So you have to ask what makes the VR38 so heavy on paper, and is it an accurate figure to go by? Don't forget that 608 lbs includes the forward diff which won't be included on a rear drive conversion... Also possible PD have opted for a weight that doesn't include a bunch of unnecessary engine driven ancillaries such as aircon & power steering pumps.

I think you're reading into these weights too much (or not enough, idk)

Ok people, so no BRZ/86, neither the new Z... also tried a bunch on old Mustangs, Evos, Miatas, Imprezas, even the Shelby GT350...

To be fair it is still a heavy lump of an engine, personally I do think the 109lbs difference is... unlikely...
I just think it's not worth the time and effort to worry about lol

SR20DET-Silvia - Nissan Silvia S13 Ks '90, this is the swap i did, and while the S15 has a 6-speed attached to the SR20DET, the S13 stays with it's 5 speed, a missed opportunity imo.

The same thing happened with my Porsche-swapped Sambabus.
Just imagine, a car with an engine hundreds of times more powerful than the OG one, mated with a dinky 4 speed with the strangest ratios I've ever came across, it was hilarious

I have to say the VR38DETT swapped 180sx is a hoot to drive, i haven't put a road tune on it, but this is very enjoyable, it's actually quite balanced, and only needed minor tuning, with the stock LSD.

For now it seems. Though they appear to have been adding engines and newly compatible models with updates, so that could change soon, which is annoying based on how hard it is to win an engine (I've not won one yet and only had them show up on the roulette about 7/8 times since launch).
