Wasn’t the title inspired by Nürburg in the first place?
There is a Japanese folk song called "The Moon Over The Ruined Castle"
The Oka Castle was the inspiration.

But if that traditional song was an inspiration to modern songwriters, it was only the title of the song... since the 'leitmotiv' of the original music is not the same. And it's not even a theme variation.

So, in my opinion, the question of which castle served as inspiration remains open. :sly:

And yes, as an amateur photographer, amateur music researcher and amateur astronomer (lol), have already tried to photograph the moon over the Nurburgring castle...

...But I never got it, as the classic Japanese theme talks about the moon illuminating the castle. This is therefore a night scene and I could never find the correct angles in the game.

Still talking about the moon and easter eggs, below I reveal the location of the great Solar Eclipse of 2017 in GT7. I suggested that someone try to find it out on the specific thread, but I don't think anyone was very interested.

Warm Springs, Oregon.

Ozzy prepared "Bark At The Moon" to play during the totality of the eclipse, from minute 2:04.

Considering the gran turismo movie dropps next month, maybe we can expect a little larger update now in july, it proably wont be in August as updates rarely release early in the month, and considering it was claimed they could make 60 cars a year, its fair to expect at some point their must be a bigger car drop, we already this year so far 10 cars less on avarage if we going to have 60 cars a year, or maybe something bigger will come around release when forza motorsport drops, to keep things fresh,

I can't see this happening. We've have some of the greatest and largest motorsport events come and go without so much as a blip of relevant single player content. Granted, licensing may be behind this but if the movie is designed to bring new players to the game - the devs believe that the current list of Menu Books is sufficient.

I can't see them timing updates around Forza either, PD seems to exist in a bubble to themselves. Sorry to come across as so negative, I'm just looking at the current cadence of updates of new cars/tracks and events.

Forza I agree, I don't think that affects their thinking at all.

But cross-media synergy is a big part of bigger-picture Playstation Studios' current strategy. If even Naughty Dog, probably the most important PS Studio, had to release the TLOU remake on PC on schedule to tie in with their TV series, then I don't think PD will be allowed to not do something to tie in with the GT movie.

I guess we have to wait and see, but i am hopefull that some point in this year we will have bigger update, but might not happen until the holidays, they added quite good selection of cars last year

I always suspected a new track last month or this month. Id like to tie it with the movie but that would be the month after. having said that, i agree with you @Vitesh Patel. Poly doesnt seem to care about giving us races based on real events.. so i find it hard to speculate.

It makes sense to drop a larger update with more content during the shows release month. But on the other hand.. i can't see anything special dropping 😬
Who the **** knows.

I hope the hypercar parade layout is not that one overused layout when the track has like other 5 layouts.
You just hit on one of the few major complaints I have about this game. I shouldn’t have to rely on arcade races to try every layout on a track, especially when the layout is a good one for various uses. St Croix A and Sardegna A are criminally underutilized.

So one of the things I've been doing lately, is that when there's a car that can take an alternative engine, I like getting two of them, so I can have one with its stock engine and another with the other engine. When I do this, I try to get them in different colors, but only colors that I like, y'know? So for example, I have two of the Lancia Delta HF. One that's the classic red, and another in the dark blue. On top of this, I try to avoid needing to repaint them, even if there aren't any stock decals that'll be removed, like those on the Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am.

But when a given car only comes in a single color that I like, or a single color in general, I ask myself how I can possibly differentiate it from the other unit that I get. I've been thinking mostly of getting different body parts installed, especially when it comes to different wheel designs. But in some cases, I think it could be sort of cool to use a different factory paint from the same automaker.

For example, the Ferrari F40 can take the Enzo's engine, so I wanna have two F40s. But AFAIK it only comes in Rosso Corsa, so maybe I could repaint one in Giallo Modena, or maybe even Azzurro Met. for something a bit different. Or better yet, I could just pick a color from the car that the alternative engine originates from, like Rosso Scuderia.

As for cars that have no other paints, no interesting paints from the alternative engine's originating car, or has special decals like the Abarth 595, I think I'll just go for installing alternative body parts/wheels. Especially for stuff like the Jeep or the DeLorean S2. In the case of the Abarth 595, I've already decided to install four-lug BBS wheels on the swapped one, and install BBS RS wheels on the one that'll keep its default engine.

I know I'm likely overthinking this, though.

On the whole new track thing, if I were PD I think I'd lean into adding fictional tracks, whether they are more remakes of classics or some completely new ones, more than adding Sebring/Sugo/Motegi etc at this point.

Obviously all the super serious PC sims don't ever do anything fictional, and looking at the announced Forza track list so far it seems there won't be more than a couple of fictional tracks there either. So having a variety of fictionals you can't play elsewhere is almost GT's USP at this point, and it's something unique that helps separate it from being "just another LMP/GT3 at Spa/Monza/Suzuka sim" game like the whole genre seems to be converging to.

On the other hand, if it takes them as long to make fictional tracks as real ones, I'd rather they spend that time on real world tracks with real world history. Especially when we're still missing tracks like Sebring and Indy.

I did a nice little 180 on which type of tracks I prefer.

I used to be all about fictional tracks, but now I couldn’t care less.

With the exception of Tokyo I don’t drive the fictional tracks at all anymore.

So I’m having issues with granturismo.com on my iPad! I can access it on my iPhone and laptop no problem, I’ve cleared website data and all that good stuff, but still no luck! Anyone have any suggestion??

Update iOS system software?

I just want to say Kioto Driving Park is amazing as hell and is underrated.
I love the redesign of some areas and the new "pianos" are awesome (I dont know the name in english lmao).

The ilumination on the dayli race is pure love, PS4 user here.
It's one of my favourite tracks because it feels old school with a fantastic flow, a decent amount of elevation and a relatively high average speed. Reminds me of Watkins Glen, particularly in the first sector (and part of sector 2) which is very fast.

That's interesting, I didn't know they were called pianos in Spanish. It's a funny name just like it is in Portuguese (at least Brazilian Portuguese). We call it "zebra"... yep, the animal.

By the way, in English they are called curbs or kerbs. Way more rational but definitely not as creative as it is in Spanish and Portuguese I must say.

They're called ripple strips for obvious reasons. They aren't curbs that you'd find outside your house so don't refer to them that way!

Same, I cannot access it in my language, but when I change that to uk it works again.

It was only yesterday I noticed that May’s update added a Sunday Cup Classic event to Monza, and it’s pretty sweet. 45,000 Cr. with CRB for winning over 2 laps. What’s more, it also provides a good incentive to drive the older road cars. They’re more than capable here.

Love the Alfa Giulia there.

Agreed, I love Yamagiwa. Challenging and interesting.

I've seen the french Conference "Between Real and virtual" and here are the most "important" points :
-Kaz is thankfull for the manufacturer implication and their trust in the game
-Vision GT is not dead and will see new model in the future because some manufacturer always have new ideas and want to make new models for GT
-Kaz is really honored to be with GT collaborating for the e-sport olympics
-Kaz objective is to design the racing for the next century
-Sophy : AI before was based on "indications" created by humans (scripted) : it's limited, because in racing there can be infinite situations that can't be scripted // Sophy instead, is learning from herself and from racing and acquired some new techniques, espacially from racing against human. Kaz is considering Sophy as his "kid", he is "raising" and "guiding her" ==> The main objective is not to make her better than human, but to "distract" the player in the most realistic way.
-About the 2023 cars : Very hard to add because this would imply for them to give every information 1 or 2 years before and even the manufacturer doesn't have every information, considering it need 8 months to create a new car...
