...I'm probably gonna get ignored 'cause the discussion is clearly hot here obviously, but can anyone Shazam the second song in the trailer? It's really quite bouncy.

If there's no hit on it, then it's likely Daiki or one of the other GT composers.

So has anybody figured out why airplanes feature so heavily on the main menu? I imagine the airport is probably the link to Scapes but the float planes all over the place...I'm intrigued. I wonder if there's some bigger lifestyle aspect to this or if Yamauchi now has an infatuation with airplanes lol. I wouldn't blame him, but then again he loves to make videogames out of his passions.

As somebody who played a lot of GT5/GT6 (and 1-4 for that matter) and completely skipped GT Sport, GT7 has me pretty excited. I personally no longer care if Gran Turismo is the best looking racing game out there (it never will be with more titles coming to PC and PCs leapfrogging consoles in terms of IQ). I'm more concerned about the nuts and bolts progressing. AI, FFB, physics, more cars on track, being able to create a custom race with all variables to increase replayability, more control over online lobbies, better penalties (from what I've seen that's a big problem), etc.
GTS still offers a lot of content in my opinion. The livery editor is one of the best things to ever happen to GT, and the online competition is challenging. Those two things are still going to feature heavily in GT7. I'd recommend giving GTS a try to at least get your feet wet with the online racing aspect because it probably won't change much into GT7. The experience will be worth it.

When I saw that CLK, I tell you my body went blank for a second. It's a good thing to take a closer look at the reveal trailer.

Shame I didn't see it live at 4am again.

(But the game releasing at my birthday month. Yassssss)

Seriously, you think I'm the one offended?

They just released a new trailer and information about the game barely two hours ago. I, just like everyone else, have come to the Gran Turismo forum to share my views and opinions of said information as it comes out. That's kinda what a discussion forum is for, you know. I'm not wasting my time any more than anyone else doing the same thing, you just don't seem to like that I'm not seeing much of what was shown favourably. I haven't made my mind up about GT7 as a whole, because that would be stupid at this stage. Again, I've merely given my views on what they have said and shown today, like everyone else.

If you find me here six months after the game releases posting the same critiques for seemingly no reason then you may have a point about me "wasting my time". Otherwise, see above.

So no, I'm not offended. I'm peeved (but not surprised) that as always around here people come along and attack you personally for the views that you post rather than coming to have a discussion and offer counter thoughts and opinions to what you have said. Which, I note, you have done yet again. If you think I'm being negative, tell me why you think I'm wrong to do so. Tell me why I shouldn't be "complaining" or "hating", converse about the subject of the post. Nobody ever seems to be able to do that, I assume because deep down they share the same disappointments, or at least acknowledge they are fair disappointments/criticisms.
I don’t have problems with people expressing how they feel about it but It seem like you have issue with track selection is not good enough for the game also with the license test coming back. I understand that but I feel like you expect something that never promise you. I don’t see any problem so far from the trailer. The only thing difference for PS4 and PS5 version is the graphic and how it run. After all the game goal is to go back into their original root and bring back what everyone wanted in their life childhood. Some People just want to play a old GT game and not change anything much. Not everyone wanted a big change to the game like last time to the point feel like they left out.

That whole scene is just weird. Like I said, why are there no roads? What is it supposed to be representing? Even the dirt paths don't actually go anywhere, just around all the buildings. Nothing is to scale, the runway at the airport is about 100ft long, the bus is about the same height as a replica of the Coliseum?

It's like one of those pictures that you longer you look at it, the more that seems wrong.

Right, so now you can't feel disappointed about something if they don't expressly promise it to you? Come on dude.

Finally, we have a proper sequel to GT4! For soo many years I've felt let down by PD with their strange decisions and questionable design choices, waiting for something spectacular to redeem my faith. THIS IS IT. All the features that I love from the originals have made a welcome return and I couldn't be happier. It has all the makings of a classic GT game! This what I've been waiting for! I will try to buy a PS5 for it but even if I can't, it doesn't matter. This game has ticked a lot of boxes for me and I'll definitely enjoy it.

There's basically no reports of cheating via editing saves because they're forced online saves.
For GT Sport, a certain program allows you easily to share your save file with someone else and get both 100% completion and the Platinum Trophy in the process (though if you aren't smart about it the trophy timestamps will give you away). Also, the online save feature does not prevent this at all. If the game detects a save file on your PS4 that is different from the one in the cloud it simply asks you which one you'd like to use and overwrites the other one. I've been wondering for quite some time now whether it would be possible for someone to have their credit limit cap increased and obtain the LH version of the Mercedes-Benz VGT this way without actually having purchased the LH DLC pack.

It doesn't seem wrong to me at all, it's just cartoonish, just like the GT4 menu. The buildings aren't meant to be realistic, they're meant to be representative icons drawn in a lighthearted manner. A circus tent for minigames, an airport for photo travel, a lot with the big giant "Used Cars" sign for the obvious. I agree with the roads and scenery in general, the map itself looks a bit incomplete, but the icons themselves I think are goofy and fun. But there are indeed more recognizable airplanes than cars lol. I wonder if they'll fly around and make the menu come to life.

My thoughts:

  • Very happy with almost everything I see, even more happy to see dynamic weather and time stuck around throughout the development cycle.
  • I REALLY hope that's not the new menu, the one seen in the original trailer was gorgeous despite the issues with the UI layout some people have. (I'm not one of those). I have no problem with making more realistic (I love the realistic used car lot and dynamic weather and time effects), but the landscape itself looks hideous.
  • The lack of new tracks seen so far is a shame, but its hard to get too sad about it if we are getting a ton of free content updates like in GT Sport. This is a trend in the gaming industry, and PD just seem to be following along with it.
  • I was extremely happy to see the Willy's Jeeps. Hopefully this means the days of PD taking themselves too seriously are over (GT Sport).
  • Hopefully we learn something about Open Lobbies fairly soon. One of the things I'm most concerned about in GT7, is that Polyphony isn't going to give us the open lobby options we had GT5/GT6 back.

also: Is that a Gen4 NASCAR under the tarp?

It's stylized like CIV/Total War. It's pretty to look at. I'm not fussed either way (although I like the album background of GT:S)

Yeah of course, but then they've gone with a realistic land setting overall which goes against all of that cartoony icon style.

I mean it's not a big deal or anything, it just strikes me as a bit odd.

I love the detailed shops and weather... but that terrain is HIDEOUS. If they fix that, I will be fine with it. I still think most preferred what we saw in the 2020 trailer, and I hope they still have that as an option.

Oh god not NASCAR again... NASCAR in GT5 was woeful

Looking at that mUstang, all we need are the proper muscle cars and the community will take care of the rest. We'll build our on "Stock Cars". ;)
Ehh with the Cup series finally in the hands of a competent developer, it's no biggie if GT7 doesn't score NASCAR. Though it was a real treat having my favorite sport available in my favorite racing games for a while.

I have no problem with NASCAR again (especially if its classics instead of the modern cars), but I personally hope they would give Indycar or something else we haven't seen a turn.
Yeah Indycar would be great and it's always been under-represented in console games. Don't get me wrong, I have no issue with NASCAR, it just needs to be done properly or its a disaster (as it was in GT5).

You could be disappointed all you want about the game but nobody is stoping you from keep doing it. You set yourself up and imagine the game be like in your own head and assume the game be different that never promise in the first places.

I'm not familiar with that program but it looks to me like the only thing you can change is the profiles name for GT, not the files inside the program. Is this correct? Because if that's the case it is still the online save that protects the content of the save as far as I know.

I also found this on their website:

Edited image to remove their name.

I can agree with that. I remember in GT5 the racing on Daytona was way more fun and less chaotic with mid-range sport cars instead. Ironically, those are the cars NASCAR are supposed to be based off of.

This whole time you’ve literally complained about his opinion and now your saying it’s ok. Make up your mind. Or just get over it, there’s no rule stating how people need to take on information. If your happy that’s fine, if he’s not, that’s fine too. It’s not your position to worry about it and really, you’re blowing a bigger stink than anyone complaining, combined, because now your complaint about people’s opinions not aligning with yours while people are actually talking about the game.

Because normally a new title brings novelty, new tracks. And as of now it looks like they're only bringing back the two classic GT circuits. Not even Seattle.
As for real life tracks, people have been wanting some of these for quite some time, for example: Road Atlanta, Road America, Mugello, Silverstone (was in GT6), Sebring...
Grand Valley, Silverstone and Mugello seem pretty likely if not at launch with updates maybe, same for Sugo

softly cries in IMSA
The GTE Ford GT in the trailer seems to still have the IMSA branded number plate and LED position idicator on it if you look closely. I hope they add a couple of DPI's too so we can have more Gr.1 Manufacturers.

Also as for Indycar, the 1966 AAR Eagle (USAC/Indycar version) won the GT Award at Pebble beach in 2018. So there is a chance that both of those series may see their debut in GT this time around.

The program just plays around with the PSN ID-specific encryption on the save file. It basically makes the PS4 believe that the save has always been yours to begin with. That's all there's to it.

positive: great its march, thought will be late 2022, like trailer (music, vibe), dynamic weather with wet percentage on ui
negative: graphic during gameplay (looks even worse with already underwhelming last year trailer), reading that 90 track configuration is not much better than we already have in gt sport ? disappointing, I expected we get basicaly gt sport (after last year trailer) + better singleplayer campaing and more content but now more content is not so sure. In the end quite hyped for march premiere, wonder when psvr2 support (hope this time full game in vr)
