Spoiling everything at once is a terrible marketing. March is still a long way to go.
The game could be delayed yeah but it's hard to be 100% sure unless you have connection at PD. They're known for delaying their game if it isn't ready, that's not really a surprise at this point.
Would maybe be a possibility that they are adding some cars by March release to boost the number of vehicles at least to 450 and some 1-2 new tracks that we didn't seen in trailer?

Also in the 420+ count maybe they mean 420 unique cars without duplicates or sort like that?

Maybe GT7 isnt the game for you then. I do get it. The Miatas RX7s Silvias Supras Skylines EVOs WRXs 300zx Fairladys are the bread and butter of GT and I do get their appearance is de rigueur and they dont excite me that much but that's what this is. Japan game gonna be dominated by Japanese cars and Japanese tracks.
The irony of this is that it still doesn't ultimately excuse the fact that GT's car lists, and especially within a context of GT6, and 7, haven't really deviated from offering more then modern and somewhat modern Japanese sports cars, and modern racing cars. For a game that seems more focused on being an encyclopedia then anything else...that's not really good, is it?

To compare, I certainly haven't seen GT ever really add any F1 car that wasn't pre-1980. Meanwhile, Forza 7 has inter-war and 1950's grand prix cars, a pretty good roster of 70's F1 cars mostly centered around 1976, and a solid mix of 60's F1 cars once again focused on a singular year for the most part in 1967. Not to mention the other esoteric vehicles that have been added over the years. I mean, I haven't seen GT add a Hillman Imp, have you?

A certain amount of pandering (for lack of a nicer term) towards the developer's home market is to be expected when it comes to licensing out cars in a racing game. Every sim dev is guilty of it. The issue becomes when GT, very clearly, makes an attempt to mostly cater towards nostalgia (which, if I may say so, is definitely cause to be cynical considering how the past three games developed have shaken out and have left GT as a whole with a fanbase who doesn't trust PD as far as they can throw them, and rightfully so) and doesn't really add onto anything else or make anything new when they do add new vehicles to the game. Like...the most interesting vehicle I've seen in the trailers was the Mangusta. Everything else seems to be either modern, new vehicles, or vehicles that are new in the sense that they're scans of older vehicles from the series.

That’s debatable. A lot of long-time fans certainly felt that Sport in general wasn’t “Gran Turismo” anymore when PD decided to abandon elements like GT Auto, used cars, upgrade shop, classic tracks, etc. to make an e-sports focused game.
It's a Gran Turismo game by virtue of being a GT game. Whether it's eSports focused or not ultimately doesn't matter. GT5P is still considered a GT game even though that was a glorified beta that was sold for money.

550 Spyder?

Since this question was forgotten, it can't be a 550 Spyder because the headlights don't match (two singles vs two doubles)

It looks like a Sebring Race-Spec C1 Roadster Corvette without the brace. The headlights match but the turn signals/markers dont match. The C1 Corvette all the way to the C3, had side markers. It didn't have those markers under the headlights until the C4 and C5.

So it could be European. Maybe a Maserati?

You claim you'd tolerate the ideas not coming off, but you were still criticizing PD completely for star system on GT6 (granted that it's not good, but for your claim there).
No, what I said is I commend them for trying new things, I didn't say I'd actually commend everything they did try. Just the pure act of them trying stuff. Because the more things they do try, eventually they'll hit one that is gold. Whereas if you just keep what you've got, that's impossible.

They tried the three stars, it was crap, they canned it. That's totally fine by me.

So yes, I'd be very happy if they kept trying new things, I denounce 5 of them as rubbish, then the sixth thing they try I think is brilliant. That's what I meant.

Since PD is making lots of nods to the past, cant wait to deal with the worst test of all again:

Nostalgia, I remember going for the top time on GT3Times.com (I believe) in GT3.

I didn't make it. I think I was possibly in the top 10, over about a second off and also behind a time with an automatic.

edit: It could have been two seconds. Found a thread about the top time:

Might be old news for some but I personally missed this bit of info entirely.

It’s an instant pass for me once again. One of the main reasons I gave GTS a pass as well.

👋
I’m curious as to why this specifically kills it for you? I only recall two server outages since launch, other than that the only problem I had was when I traveled and didn’t have WiFi to connect to and couldn’t do any livery work.

I suspect Variable Time, as in previous games will only implement the 24 hour cycle on a few tracks such as Nürburgring, Circuit de la Sarthe, while most will be sunrise to sunset and a few no time change at all.

I would be interesting if they added the 24 cycle to Trial Mountain, Grand Valley if they add it.

Deep Forest with Variable Time sun setting as it was in GT1, GT2

Do you know why graphics aren't that better than sport?
First of all, it is better looking, but yes, I do know why the difference isn’t huge. Do you? Because GT Sport is beautiful. Generational leaps like the sorts we had between PS1 and PS2 are long gone, but people seem to have a hard time getting this.

Play GT Sport on a PS4 Pro connected to an OLED TV, and then tell me it’s not incredibly good looking.

My issue, as last time around, is simply the inane design choice that the single player portion of the game requires a persistent connection to their servers to be able to save your game progress when it doesn’t need to.

At the end of the day I’d be buying a $70 paperweight - especially when taking their horrendous track record with shutting down servers 6-7 months after the new game’s release into consideration.

Probably because the game is useless once they shut down the servers in 10 years or so.

10 years?

10 years? I fear it could be even 5-6 years since GT8 come out.... (I hope it not but I this is what I am concerned most)

5 years?

There we go. GT5 and 6 were shut down fast when the next game's in the series were dropped, so why change things?

The best part is that there is no real reason for GT7 to be effectively always online. None.

I love the UI design of this GT7 used car dealership.
Honestly, the UI design is what makes the GT series stand out from other racing titles.
The used car screen is brilliant design, but then there's also the 'world view' main screen, which looks like a UI/UX nightmare

My big concern about GT7 is honestly how fun it can be offline aswell. I mean, PD acknowledging their pass games give me hope that this GT will be more compelling to play on multiple runs than 5 & 6. However, the racing has to be more engaging and less tedious. The chase-the-rabbit AI can't really cut it anymore.

On the flipside, photo mode will probably be more fun alongside the customization. Having aero kits back combined with an improved livery editor leaves the door open for more personalized combinations. and an opportunity to create more authentic racing replicas. It makes me wonder what aero kits await the newer cars introduced into the series since GT Sport. Like seeing the e30 M3 with a regular e30 kit or the DTM aero. or the new Alpine A110 getting GT4 aero.

The widebody kit feature I notice will also be interesting, I can only imagine what wide body kits PD would model for GT7.

There may be room for improvement, but I like the new world map. The first trailer world map was similar to the GT4 world map that I personally dislike, so I'm glad they reconsidered it.
