You seem to think the PS5 is limitless, but it’s not. Flat trees is a very effective way to minimize pop-in and keep the frame rate solid, which is very important in a racing game, as you’re moving fast through the environment. Why waste resources and processing power on trees which you hardly have time to notice anyway?
Unfortunetly they are quite noticable for me when they are not far from track, you dont need limitless power to have proper modeled trees near track it just seems they didnt change much on nordchleife

How do you know the PS5 has enough power though? Also, the trees are not as bad looking as you make them out to be. Far from it.

I'm still wondering when they'll show the snowy track or the GT7 will be another GT without snow. They are kind of silent about it.
Rally is something that's always included, but I wish they would actually put some effort into it. It always seems like they don't want it but daddy Kaz said they have to have it, so not a lot of emphasis is put on the physics of it.

This.

And I hope RSS could be removed all together, or at the very least only allowed as qualificafion tires/one lap stints. I dislike this tire so much.
The Mini Mania lobbies that allow this tire is beyond me. My Mini is tuned to a point where it doesn’t feel like an FWD and with these tires it makes my car tip over. Incredibly unrealistic to allow these tires on this car.
I agree. Road cars - especially the slowest ones - are really awkward to drive on racing tyres. Try the original Beetle (with its stock tune) on RSS tyres on Tsukuba and you'll see how going through a corner you have full grip one moment and are spinning violently out of control the next. It's just as bad even on RH. There's just no feel for where the grip ends and I don't get how people have fun driving like that. However I am aware that people do actually have fun playing the game this way and that I'm only describing my personal preferences. It would be a really bad idea to impose my preferences on other players, therefore the tyre selection should remain just as it is. I am utterly convinced that giving players more choice is fundamentally a good thing.

How will Renault Sport be treated in GT7, since it was merged into Alpine in May this year?
The Clio V6 is still displayed as an R.S. car in a picture on the official website, but is it the same in the product version?

It's still going to be Renault Sport because it isn't an Alpine.

I'm of the impression that only any recent or modern product that would've been badged "Renault Sport" are under that umbrella, whereas anything that was under the Renault Sport name well before will remain that way (Maybe under that "Renault classic" name that is seen on the license plate of the R8 Gordini)

I'm not sure that it can explain this issue because in GT6 (when SRT had been separated from Dodge), not only the SRT Viper but even the older Dodge Vipers are treated as SRT models, and in GTS, the 2013 SRT Viper is treated as a Dodge model (post-2014 models are Dodge-branded in real life, though).

I guess they're using the latest branding to group the cars in game.

Well, a Mini isn’t a MINI and a Mini is British not German. Yet, they‘ve been grouped together since GT4.

The Renault Gordini is separate from Renault Sport. Alpine being a different name may not see it grouped with Renault.
Abarth is separate from Fiat.

Now, I think the BMW McLaren and AMG cars are with their parent companies. IF one of the (BMW)3.0 CSL is an Alpina, we’ll see where that’s placed(most likely BMW, unless Alpina are a new manufacturer in the franchise).

Anyway, should be interesting how cars are grouped as far as branding.

Ah, Mini was a good case, I forgot about that.

Why waste resources and processing power on track surrounds at all? Just have a flat grey ribbon of track floating in the void, that's enough to drive on.

You may be driving fast, but those with eyeballs appreciate the immersion from an authentic looking environment. To people who have seen trees in real life, it's spooky and off-putting to be driving past these things that rotate to follow you. You personally may not have enough spacial awareness to be paying attention to things other than the road while you're driving, but I can assure you that other people do.

I’m quite surprised that Renault Sport isn’t under the Renault brand in GT. I mean, if we have Renault Sport as a separate entity, why isn’t there others like Audi Sport, Mercedes-AMG etc.?

I may be the devil's advocate here, but...

If every single tree on track had the detail and polish of the right one, it may be a tad bit wasteful.

Im not saying however that 2d trees are acceptable to use everywhere 'cough' Alsace 'cough', just that PD should learn where each type fits.

The trees in GTsport have subsurface scattering, they aren't just cardboard, they physically react to lights. The only way I could see them having 3D environments all over the track is by capping the framerate at 30fps even on PS5.

Agreed, my problem is that while they talk a big game with graphics and spare no expense with the menus and scapes, they cut a lot of corners with the tracks themselves that could be masked with better design choices.

Don’t get me started.. they included SNOW TIRES in GT Sport. For what, more realistic tire choice on scape photos? :dunce::lol:

You’re right. I have no eyeballs, I’ve never seen a tree in my life (because no eyeballs) and my spacial awareness is off (again, no eyeballs) but you know what? I prefer that to being a miserable brat with perfect eyesight, like you guys, who are bothered by freaking trees in a damn racing game.

Whatever you do, don’t buy the game, because I fear the trees will be in the way of your enjoyment.

There is nothing miserable with wanting track surroundings to look better. If you don't care about it, fine. But there are people who do.

Think we need a new video 😬

Im pretty sure GT7 will have a bit of something for everyone guy/girls.
Were nearly 3months away, i dont get all the negatively.

I couldn't be more excited.
Well, maybe if they show off some new wood 🤣

I do too, but trees are not at the top of my list of things that needs to be fixed, which it seems to be for some of you guys. I think they look good, and they’re done in a very effective way to conserve processing power so that frame rate is not affected.

How anyone can look at this video and go; “My gosh, the trees are outright hideous! Yuck! Not acceptable at all!” is beyond my comprehension, but then again, my eyeballs are non-existent, so who the hell am I to talk, right?
