It's one selective screenshot. You can take plenty where it doesn't look like a forest. This isn't really a tree issue like before, the ones they've got look fine, they're just not synonymous to the trees of the original circuit which gave it that unique character.
I think the reactions of less tree overhang is a bit over the top, is this a racing game or a nature show

Well this is the premier GT forum online, I think it's pretty natural that here you're going to find people that care the most about these changes. I'm sure the casual player won't notice or care, indeed.

Yes it's a racing game but if scenery didn't affect the experience at all we'd all be driving around empty car parks with nothing else. I remember when SMS were developing the first crowdfunded pCARS game and as a backer they let us drive tracks as soon as they were drivable, so it literally was just a ribbon of tarmac and barriers floating in the void. Nothing else. Driving tracks like that wasn't particularly fun, even if it was the Nurburgring.

Clearly the scenery does add to the driving experience, even if it's not the primary concern.

ok great so is the a lack of tree overhang going to ruin the driving experience, most likely not hence why I say the reactions are a bit over the top, how many more pages do we need of people moaning about tree's now

Well again, this is the GT forum, and this track being in GT7 is the latest news. People are gonna talk about it and if anyone is going to pick tiny faults, it's gonna be the die hard fans.

Didn't know the best place to post this but I wouldn't expect any new Merc F1 cars in GT, seems they've preferred to go down the ultra realism route partnering with iRacing. I suppose they could still license it to GT as well but wouldn't really make sense, "Drive our car with ultra realism in iRacing, or a middling level of realism in GT"

One thing I disagree with, that iRacing is ultra realistic. It's not and never will be with those tyre physics. It's a good online racing platform, but it's not an ultra realistic sim.

If Mercedes do indeed decide to move away from GT, and if Max does succeed in Abu Dhabi, then could we see Gran Turismo and Red Bull expand on their X-series relationship and include the 2021 challenger…?

I recall reading every racing game not codemaster's F1 is only able to have one F1 car anyway (GT7 already bringing back the 2017 w08, which GTsport brought in but was missing Senna's Lotus from GT6; PD got around that in GTS by making their own F1 fictional car that looks like the Lotus).

Better vegetation? What does that even mean? Polyphony Digital has always gone for photo realism, and they’re arguably one of, of not the best racing game developer at achieving it.

When it comes to car models, absolutely. Surroundings not.

Ehhh, don't know if "Ultra Realism" is what I would call iRacing based the sheer amount of racing drivers who have said the opposite (Especially the tire model as @Dave A says).

As for that mindset, that would be abit of a crude way to put it considering not everyone that wants to experience it is in the same price bracket. If anything, I just see the chance for everyone to experience that car in a variety of options:

  • If you've got the money and setup, here's the W12 in iRacing
  • If you just want to spend once and are willing to grind just a tad in-game, here's the W12 in Gran Turismo 7 (if that were to happen)
  • If you want to experience it in official compacity right out the gate, Here it is in F1 2021 (Even in free Demo form if you can't afford the official game depending on your platform of choice)
  • If you aren't about all that but you just want it in mobile game form (and either grind more so or spend abit), there's Real Racing 3

Did they really "Get Around" that, or did they just give us an unlicensed 97T from GT6 because they didn't have the Lotus licensing? Also worth remembering that GT5 had actually 2 F1 cars: Ferrari F2007 and the Ferrari F10

Good question.
You're the one who said that GTS is a step above the majority of racing games, later clarified to be AAA racing games. The question was directed at you.
I mean I would still consider GTS to be at least a step above the majority of racing games on the market in terms of visuals...
Was that actually a considered opinion, or was it a complicated way of saying "I think GTS is better than all other racing games"?

I spent about a minute thinking about it, nothing else came to mind but didn't feel like outright saying its the best out there because there's probably stuff out there I'm not familiar with.

GT needs to improve not only the engine sound but also the tires squeal. Even in the new Deep Forest videos, the tires squeal are still unrealistic and too noisy.

Everyone here debating whether or not GT3 Deep Forest is superior graphically in terms of realism compared to GT7's....

....while I'm just here sitting wondering if they'll use the updated logos for Peugeot, BMW, VW, and Aston, just like what they did with Mazda, Mitsubishi, and Nissan in GT Sport....

Hell, maybe even add the proper Porsche crest instead of just the lettering!

Graphics look okay, wasnt mesmerised. Should have been PS5 only rather than essentially repeating the mistake of gt6 again. AI still doesn't look up to scratch.

Like trial mountain Id rather they consign deep forest to history rather than fundamentally alter it and simultaneously try to cash in on nostalgia. Players asked for deep forest, not something like deep forest.

The classic tracks just aren't suited to cars that PD wants players to drive (Group 3, Group 4). The elements that made the tracks so iconic like the flowing corners are being significantly altered or removed entirely for passing opportunities.

Best pre-race music ever!
Probably used as some kind of torture music today . Will be interesting to hear the soundtrack for GT7 as it gives the game a kind of identity you remember it by, good to see game getting rated so wait shouldn't be too long now. GT Sport I keep on hearing "London in the Rain" but disappointed they didn't bring their London track with weather conditions for the game!

I know they have Sarah in the game but would be good if they also got Sarah from Kero Kero Bonito to do a track for the game.

GT7 footage is used for this demo.
4K×4K in almost 1 inch, imagine if this would be used for PSVR 2... (Currently not sure, though)

Great find. Also nice to see 4 cars in a scape.

Last week SONY share a video with the demostration of that display technology. the demos shows a car showroom that perhaps is related to GT7.
It appears to be in the early stages of development so it is highly unlikely that these are the displays used in PSVR 2 wich is only a few months to go to market.

In fact, it seems more likely that they will be the screens that will mount the future virtual reality glasses from Apple according to the rumors.
