A couple things I'm noticing in the comparison. I still hate how GTS and GT7 don't shift accurately. The early throttle application is ridiculous. It's definitely not realistic on an automated manual and it's very poor technique on a manual transmission. GT6 didn't make that mistake and they really need to fix it, it's obnoxious and degrades the immersion.

Also, I'm not a huge fan of how the new Deep Forest is...less forested. One of my favorite aspects of the classic track were the trees genuinely overhanging the track and the dark tunnels that felt you were really driving through a forest. That's the whole point of this track, right? But looks like they've cut back the brush quite a bit in the name of safety and now the track is much more open in the hills, with brighter tunnels and a less dense feel which I think goes against the whole purpose of the track. I'm sure I'll love it, and I do actually like the fact that they've changed the layout slightly, but I wish they kept the deep, dark forested feel.

I also recall the view of the cliff/valley off to the left of the uphill section being very iconic. Weirdly while the new one has lost some forestry elsewhere, this uphill section feels more forested, while the old one had the giant canyon to the left which always made me feel slightly uncomfortable. It was actually distracting from the track itself which is part of why the track's scenery was so iconic. I wish they'd have kept that precarious cliff view.

Playstation bought Valkyrie Entertainment which is an outsource art support studio that also worked on Forza 7, God of War. Hopefully Kaz is more open to getting PS-owned outsource help for making their track assets, at least the fictional ones..

In their portfolio they indicate that they are responsible for data collection and recreation of real circuits of the Forza saga such as Silverstone, Spa, Bathurst and Suzuka.

Yeah they pretty much did the whole track production for some circuits in Forza 7 including all the art production and data measurements. But I wouldn't expect Polyphony to hand off their real-life circuit track production as freely regarding gathering measurements or scanning data. Polyphony definitely needs help (as in more man-power) just making art assets though since it's clear they have to rush some things to release on time. For Spa and some returning circuit tracks in GTSport, they literally just did a slight retexture of the GT6 environment prop models, and even the texture rework can look worse. Check out the house 🤷‍♂️

That would be common sense for Poly to work with this studio. So it won't happen. I can't say GT7 looks "bad", I'm just not impressed when all the new next gen games look crazy like FH5 or the new Horizon.
Deep Forest was 4 years in the making and that the "showcase" track?!!!

The old GTs had awful collisions, no penalty system and many other flaws but they had "something", a certain feeling and it's not even nostalgia. My expectations for future GTs are lower and I wouldn't be suprised if Poly makes a 2022 game with no 360 degre camera view or dashbord camera view.

I hope not man, we really need a dashboard cam and 360 camera for the outside view. I still can't understand why they removed it from the final game when it was perfectly working in the beta. And GT is the biggest Esport racing game right now where the pro players drive with a wheel setup. So i find it strange why they didn't include a dashboard cam or a cockpit view without the steeringwheel for wheel users. Even the hoodview is not that good on most cars, it just sits on the roof of the car. Those are the most basic things in a racing game that are missing in GT for too long tbh.

In GTS with manual cars if you don’t come off the gas while shifting it will make you ride the clutch doesn’t matter if you use a controller, thats where you hear that sound from. GT6 didn’t have this and I hated because when you play AC or PC1/2 even on a controller without an active clutch you still had to come of the gas while shifting or it made the riding the clutch sound. With the lambo I though it had old single clutch tech, that why it sounded so sluggish during the shifts.

The LP640 has a single clutch transmission, though it doesn't shift as slowly as it does in the GT7 gameplay - and it doesn't sound like it's riding the clutch between each shift either

Never said the lambo sounded like its riding the clutch between shifts.. I said I know it had a a single clutch trans which is slow compared to new tech. When you listen to the second shift as he in red line on your video you can hear the delay.. Not as bad as GT7 though as you said.

In that GT7 footage, the Murciélago incorrectly has an H-pattern manual gearbox.
I think they can fix it since GT SPORT already has the automated manual transmission via an update.

Ha!

My thinking is that the one in December would serve to put it back-on-the-radar for many, January's would bring some momentum and Feb's would accelerate the momentum prior to the March debut.

Makes sense in-theory and I've a feeling that Jordan, being a logical thinker, might be hoping for the same thing.

I reckon (and hope) we'll see at the very-least one new trailer in December, one in January and a final one in Feb.
I don't think we're getting the third major trailer (the announcement and release date trailers were major ones, I'd say) this month. It'd have been at the Game Awards if there was.

@Jordan reacting with a thinking emoji....

IS THIS A SIGN?!?!
...Hm, interesting.

Agreed mate, but that's content and I was obviously specumalating about the timing of the trailers themselves.

Given that GT5 and 6 both had course makers, I'd expect details of something like that to be dropped, amongst other things along the lines of which you speak - features, game play, modes and whatnot.

IOW, it's not like there won't be enough material to justify 3 trailers, especially given that PD has showcased so few tracks and pretty-much zero features thus far... IMHO.

Well I don't think we'll get monthly trailers, there isn't really a need for that. GT Sport we got

Trailer 1: Initial Reveal
Trailer 2: Gameplay Trailer
Trailer 3: PSX Trailer
Trailer 4: Not really a trailer, just the game intro movie.

...and that was over a period of two years, with the delays. There were other specific trailers, like Porsche is coming, but four was it for big, general trailers. Three, if you don't count the last one.

As @Lux Klonoa says we've already had two major ones for GT7, so there is probably only one or two more before launch.

Especially since the big Deep Forest neon swooshes was revealed, after seven mini trailers. Maybe we get another Tom cars of Gran Turismo 7 trailer. N class are gone. Could explain to new players about the PP system and Gr.1-4.

I agree with your logic Samus, but IMHO GTS vs GT7 isn't an apples-to-apples comparison.

For one thing, the "series" is being brought back and PD knows this is a big deal for many.
More-critically perhaps is the fact that GTS was light-on-features and depth in comparison.

Who knows; we're just specumalating, but whilst I'd expect 2, I'm hoping for 3.

True, we're all just guessing here. I'm just really anxious to actually hear about the core functionality and design of the single player game, which you'll never get in a trailer. It's the difference between buying it at launch and buying it a year later at half price or less for me. Trailers are all nice and flashy, but they rarely tell you anything important.
