There was a lot to like, but still no real detail on AI is a bit of a downer. Hopefully more video's will follow showing more.

That was a corny presentation but I liked it.

The music stuff is cute but I don't think many people will end up caring about it.

Looks like the career mode is progressive in difficulty again, leaving fast players bored throughout most of it; maybe all of it since PD seems reluctant to make things difficult these days. We'll have to go online to get a challenge again.

The game's general atmosphere is amazing. I'll probably just be chilling and vibing in the menus.

Graphics are great as expected. Don't know how people are expecting it to get much better than GTS without going into unrealistic territory.

The attention to detail with the weather and time simulation is really cool. Night time was only shown on a couple of tracks though so that's a disappointing sign.

GT7 looks to be a decent time overall. We'll just have to create most of the fun ourselves.

Just watched the GT7 State of Play and decided to preorder the 25th anniversary edition. ☺️ That’s because I will start playing on PS4 Pro and maybe in a few years upgrade to a PS5 Pro or Slim.

I have some questions for you GT veterans that followed GT7 news closer than me :

  • are pitstops still a thing like in GT Sport? That would be awesome in combination with weather and time of day. And different tire compounds of course.
  • is every car interior modelled properly nowadays? I remember older GT games (GT5 and 6) with blacked out interiors.
  • are there any other shortcomings to playing on PS4 than having no trigger haptic feedback and no raytracing in scapes?
  • is there an option to put shifting in “realistic mode”? By that I mean that manual cars are with shifting needed, automatic cars are not.
  • Can I still steer with the PS4 motion controller? I played GT Sport like that several, years ago since I’m really bad with the PS4 controller analog stick for steering (being used to the Xbox controller now).

I'd put money that was on the easiest difficulty possible - it was a much worse performance than we've seen them do even in Sport, and it makes sense they'd want to go out with the "charge to the front" - especially with Moon Over The Castle playing like over the top like that.
As I understand from game informers mega cringe video, Music Rally will be a casual mode, novice friendly.

Here's an upscaled version of the 400 showed cars

I noticed they said dynamic weather available in “custom arcade mode”. Hopefully this doesn’t mean it won’t be a option online? Maybe the PS4 can’t handle it?? I hope I’m wrong.

from pushsquare: "upon completing the various menus you’ll be treated to insight and interviews from the designers and creators of some of the world’s most famous cars."

and from gameinformer: "This is standard fare for a GT game, but what’s new is that each car manufacturer has a detailed history available for viewing here. You’ll learn about the brand’s creator, its history through time, some of its most standout vehicles, and where the company stands in the industry today."

I can't really express what the GT series and mostly especially GT4 has teached me.

Kaz is always talking about trying to create a new generation of fans or at least inspiring anyone to learn about the history of the automotive industry and racing, right?

Well, I was one of those people, back at 2004/05 with Gran Turismo 4. Still just a kid, looking at cars in the street thinking "hey, that's a car from GT4! It's a Renault! It's from France!".
It may seem silly, but really, Gran Turismo was my only way of discovering and understanding this whole automotive world. I was playing AND reading GT. My father also has a very important role in all of this because he was always playing GT with me and everytime I had a question like "where this brand is from?" he explained to me.

Now today I kinda understand Kaz. It's funny to look back and see that some people today might go through the exact same experience I had 20 years ago.

I like that they opened with a reminder of the release date, pushing down delay rumors and reassuring fans. We might actually get a Gran Turismo that hasn't been...well, it hasn't been officially delayed, yet. And it should be going gold any day now.

No mention of FIA at all.

Good news for anyone wanting a change in the present online Sports Mode format. Hopefully means more one make races, less Gr. 3 & 4. :)
Hopefully this means a less dull, and more lighthearted experience when it comes to what type of races take place.

Give us some spec-Fiat 500 racing... during a thunderstorm... at night.... on le mans.

edit: no, im not joking :)
