The inclusion of the S15 touring car has me wondering if they're simply expanding Gr4 or if they're splitting off a lesser touring car class from it. Either move would be interesting. An S15 Gr4 could have advantages similar to the FR-S, versus the GT-R. And speaking of the FR-S Gr4, I never got to drive the Supra Gr4 but I see no reason to take the FR-S over that so at the point it would make sense to demote the FR-S to a touring car category. Adding a TC category also opens the opportunity for interesting modified cars to qualify for it, or to expand the car list with classic TCs.

Watching some of these media preview videos it seems very likely they're really trying to sell this game to new players and non-car fans more than anything. All three videos I've watched so far has had one or more people talking who weren't fans of GT, racing games or even real racing, and then they go into all the aspects of the game targeted towards people like them. Learning about cars, learning about driving techniques, learning circuits.

Which is fair enough, but for those of us who are already car buffs or big fans of the series there isn't as much to sell us on, other than "all the stuff from the old games you played".

Wow, lots of stuff to dissect from this stream. Overall I am very happy with what I've seen, especially when it comes to the customisation and dynamic weather. HUGE strides have been made in these areas and it's going to make for a really impressive game that meets our expectations. Hard to speak about the physics at this point in time but it's looking good. I liked the way the suspension moved on each car and I particularly liked the way the Cobra moved about on it's old tyres. It seems like a step in the right direction. But by far the biggest thing for me was the customisation. Holy crap, I didn't think we'd be seeing NFS and Forza levels of customisation in a GT game. Engine swaps, roll cages, wings, widebody kits, front bumpers, rear bumpers, side skirts and sidepipes. There is soo much scope for complete madness, as demonstrated by the Porsche-powered Beetle. Notable car and track omissions aside, this game has it all - finally.

That pictured with the Roadster Touring Car leads me to believe it'll be an offshoot.

One big question I have is that is there another driver body type for women and such other? Still don't like that I have to keep using the default.
I may be judging wrongly here but the Japanese culture doesn't strike me as one particularly keen on cultural shifts like women in motorsport. I mean, Best Motoring still dresses girls up in goofy outfits. I hope they get paid well at least.

I'm fixated on the dot in Southern California...that looks to be between San Diego and Los Angeles, but it's right on the water.

It's slightly too south to be Long Beach but who knows.
I believe that Route X's location.

It became a American track on Sport and the terrain matches well with the location.

I had always heard that Route X was located in like, Alaska but if that's not true it would make sense.

The main menu's updated again with the icons represented by black and white icons. Feels like the previous ones was better. And it seems that the GT World menu is the one that features the event there, not like GT4 one. Dunno if that'd make it better to navigate events or not.

Those that I'm quite happy with are I guess the customization options that seems to live up to how GT7 would be the game with the most customization, with carbon fibre as color, the Wide Body seemingly acting as the RM here (with actually hefty cost of 50K and a note that it'd remove the fitted parts) albeit not using the existing Gr. cars, also Engine Swap likely finally coming (Beetle with 455hp Porsche engine...). The presentation style the game does, about the cars or various locations seems interesting too, despite the initial outrage of the inclusion of the "characters" (still can go without them here). It's not fully essential but can't be really mad at the features like 3D Audio (further improvement on sound), the updated physics, or the dynamic weather simulated with real life weathers other than "neglecting another feature I'd like to prioritize". The Scapes showing is also quite incredible here.

I'm not quite happy with B-Spec seemingly not included, hoping for it being there but evolved into race management mode or such, and that GT Auto doesn't feature the car animations (other than stock loading animations, and a slight upgrade of GT6's), I'd like to see its animation on a fully rendered building (instead of white/orange background). And the interesting presentation is why I'm quite disappointed on this one; it seems that the Brand Central won't feature the building used in its introduction (with elevator), and opts to just use the black/grey blank background as usual. Only Brighton Antiques feature the location. Same goes for the Garage, seems less effort compared to menus like GT Cafe. For car conditions I'd like for Used Cars to at least feature that too when navigating cars...

For the events, apparently others are guessing it's going to be a big GT game, but it seems under represented in the stream, just hoping that their guesses are right. So far the Driving Missions feature Drag Races, I'd like for Drag Races to be featured as regular events (like GT2) but....
