Depends if it's unnanounced for the show or unnanounced to the world. Until they play the trailer we won't know, but if I had to guess I would say it's a more likely to be a new game that hasn't been shown before. That doesn't mean it can't be a game that's already been revealed but it just going to be a surprise for this show though, but I would guess the other way.

The terms 'Unannounced game' tend to refer to a game no one knows is coming and has yet to be revealed to the public at large. I've never seen those terms used to refer to a game not scheduled to appear in a certain game show. The term 'Suprise Trailer/Gameplay' would work better, if that were the case.

You're probably right, that's what I think is more likely the case, but the only way I can see it referring to a game already shown to the world is if it's meant to be a surprise for the show. I think it's more likely to be a new game reveal though.

That's what I was thinking, in terms of it's unannounced as a surprise for the show. PC3 is there as well. We got to see a bit of "game play" and possible features in the Gran Turismo 7 trailer.

Again, as I mentioned, amongst those particular games, Gran Turismo would look out of place. We'll see or not.

Well It could work like this. They show a new trailer for gamescom maybe talk a little about the game but promote a ps5 event In September. I feel they will throw out a "launch window" release date. I can't imagine GT7 taking forever to come out. Next level racing keeps making post talking about GT7 and not stopping...

Most likely September is when we will hear something. Nothing to show on gamescom today, there is still a possibility of a trailer shown by GT themselves but I am not hoping of anything.

I expect PD to have their own virtual event later this year or early next year. Depends on their target release date.

I doubt it. It seems Sony want to control communication. At least, until PS5 release.

Anyway, it's still too early to talk about a release date. For example, we haven't seen anything of Spiderman MM yet, and it will be out late 2020....

Personally, I'm tired of their communication. I hope GT7 will be present in septembre during a PS5 event or Tokyo Games Show

That is how it works. Sony provides all the PR, marketing, and comms for GT, because it's the publisher...

Yes, but Sony control more than before. Developers seem to have less freedom but that's just an impression I have....

Sony now have a centralised, worldwide, marketing platform for hardware and 1st party software. Previously each region did their own thing.

In years past we may have had a leak or snippet from Japan. But now any major news will come via the PS Blog or YouTube channels.

Am I the only one who thinks that career mode races should be 3 hours at a maximum? Races that are longer than this shouldn't appear in career mode in my opinion or it's just too much for one driver. If PD want to implement 6,12 and 24 hour events, it should be done like iRacing with co-drivers. They shouldn't contribute to the game progression, because most players won't bother doing long races.

Id say one hour max

GT5 has the middle game save feature, so no it's not a problem with races being long if the feature is there. Also obviously (one of GT5's biggest mistake), B-Spec which is interchangable with A-Spec like GT4/GT6, and GT4 also has speed up, up to 3x.

Id say one hour max
So you're happy with what GT6 did?

If the Ai will be competitive than i wish they introduce 24h endurances, if the it is slow as usual, than better a 24 minutes race like in GT6,more than that i would fall asleep with such a slow AI.

With both Assetto Corsa games in PS4, I'm limited to about 5 minutes of replay time. It sucks, but the AI more than compensate for it.

I get tight racing, sometimes I fall behind and co.e back to finish where I started. No chance to move up the field as quickly as in GT Sport.

Most of my races in GT Sport are about 10-15 minutes. Give me good AI, dynamic ToD/weather and I'm good to go.

Except i wasn't talking about gts but what you said still doesn't take out the fact that not all these models are being driven or used by most players doe.

So what's your point?

When they started playing gt sport, what they saw mostly was the difference it had in quality compared to the previous gran turismos which is a quantum leap for this generation, so..

Hell you can't expect pd to add every standard cars to come back for the sake of adding numbers to the car list but obviously, that ain't happening in gts. If anything, still only a few than half of them are lucky to be selected in that case.

However things might be different for gt7.

Although honestly i have no problems with that aside from if they add two essentially same cars that are called "duplicates", something that i would find meaningless. Only i forgot to mention abt them earlier.
Late reply due to being busy, but I've answered this before dude. 1 or only a few number of player won't make use of every cars in the game, but collectively, from all GT copies sold, all of them combined will touch almost every single car in the game. Like those competitive-freak players will ignore the likes of 1886 Benz, but other kind of players like automotive enthusiasts will use that.

It’s rather selfish to tell someone “I don’t like X car, therefore it should be removed. The fans of it be damned.” Every car is someone’s favourite car, so who are you to tell them they shouldn’t be allowed to drive it?

And that's why cutting down on the car list is highly unreasonable. It is indeed, selfish, for everyone who enjoys every kind of car, from everyday cars, sports cars, supercars, race cars, rally cars, trucks, as well as the weird and wacky ones. People want lower car counts... until their favourite car doesn’t make the cut and gets dropped. Let's see what the reaction of people, including you, if your favorite car gets removed due to cutting them down.

What did GT6 do? I didn't buy it.

Honestly GT4 burnt any tolerance I had for endurance races, they need to make 15 minute races enjoyable before they force players to sit through 2 hours.
GT6 has only 24 minute races at most. And I've said it before, if something from GT5 is implemented, you don't need to sit through 2 hours; you can save endurance races in mid race and continue it later. And even for GT4 B-Spec 3x speed?

To me, fast forwarding in autopilot in B-Spec in GT4 felt like an acknowledgment that a lot of players didnt find the racing fun on its own merit, and that they entered only because of the prize on offer. I know that's how I used it.

In GT5 it felt like it was there because they needed to pad out the offline content. Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V.

I think being able to resume races is a good feature, though I would be very hesitant to make long races mandatory. Maybe scaling the race distance is a solution.

It's not only about the player for GT4 it's also about the console for longer races which is why I think of the saving race feature, for console at least. Are long races actually mandatory? In GT5 they're last levels (and in GT4, other regular races are needed to unlock Endurance, completing 25%), and GT kinda has sandbox feel to enter any race as you like.
