That's a very good approach, might try it! I thought about buying a car for 80,000 that I won't be using, then start off with 20,000, if there are no other options. I feel a huge urge to pre-order this masterpiece :D
I think this is an easy fix, just buy a 80,000 car and use it after you have had enough of the "pure" GT grind.

I made screenshots of cars in the showcase section.

So, the Testarossa does have bodykit mods, the GR86 has a splitter and wing. I know you all saw the Integra already, but I thought I would show it in a cleaner view. Another thing I did notice looking at the S15 is the lack of a license plate. Though I'm not sure if that means we can delete them or it's just the front bumper modification causing that.

Yeah, I'd be somewhat surprised if we get to add any aero parts to the Ferraris. But I think I could still have fun changing the paint, adding decals, and changing out the wheels. If I'm wrong, though, and we do indeed get some aero parts for even one Ferrari, I'd be real happy. Heck, I don't even know how much we'll be able to change the internal bits on those things. Not that I'd mind either way - I plan to get at least two of every car, with one to leave as-stock, and another to modify however I'd like. And if we can't do much with the Ferrari models, then that's fine by me, because we'll still have plenty of ways to modify seemingly every other car in the game.

At the very least, I plan to potentially equip the Azzurro Met. paint from the 458 Italia on some Ferrari models that don't offer it. It's probably my favorite Ferrari paint that isn't the usual Rosso Corsa/Rosso Scuderia/Nero Daytona/Giallo Modena.

We can also clearly see from recent gameplay footage that, at the least, we can really tinker around with a Lamborghini Aventador.

EDIT: As for wheels, I could say quite a bit on what wheels I plan to equip to what vehicle. Generally, I plan to go for designs that are similar to the stock design. So if a car comes with a center-lock design as standard, then I'll pick a different center-lock design to compliment it. This would mostly apply to various higher-performance cars like the McLaren F1, but also the Gr.3 cars. Same thing with cars that have wheels that have four lugs, which are generally smaller cars, like the kei cars or the 2008 Fiat 500. And finally, I plan to pick between the six-lug Enkei Baja or any KMC design for any relatively new trucks/SUVs we get, like the Toyota Tundra TRD Pro and the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor, but maybe not so much stuff like the classic Jeep we're getting.

I don't see myself modifying the race cars in general, though, as not only do I think they're fine as-stock, but I don't even know what options we'll even have for the cars in Gr.3/Gr.2/Gr.1/Gr.B, though I could see there potentially being more options for the Gr.4 machines, especially those that are made-for-game models like the Ferrari 458 Gr.4. I just don't think it'll be necessary to modify the race cars since I'll want them to still be capable of complying with any regulations I may see, whether it's in the campaign or online.

EDIT2: Plus there's the factor that some race cars may have unusual wheel sets, like the differently-colored wheels on the Hyundai Genesis Gr.3, though it'd be really cool if we could somehow replicate that this time around in GT7's version of the livery editor.

Yup, you're right and I'm now annoyed. I was dreaming about having a Koenig kit on mine.

Yeah, I'd be somewhat surprised if we get to add any aero parts to the Ferraris.
Just fyi, Gran Turismo 5 & 6 had aero parts available for Ferraris. The 458 Italia and 430 Scuderia had some for instance.

Come to think of it, I think someone in the forum recently posted an Enzo that had a custom rear wing from one of the PS3-era games, too. So maybe there's hope yet.

Yes there were custom wings for the Enzo, in GT6 IIRC.

It looks like when we share liveries, it's not just the paint and decals like in GT Sport, but also which aero parts we have installed. I wonder how that'll work? Could it be that we download the livery, and then we pay a certain sum of credits to get those specific parts installed on that car?
Hmmm that's weird, if you have the option for acquiring aero parts from showcase, why not tuning parts instead of taking screenshots and let the other do the tuning himself? Something similar to Forza would've been great.

We don’t know if we can get the aero parts from the showcase, though. Maybe there are limitations, like you can only download certain liveries if you have those particular parts already purchased and ready to equip. Or, like I mentioned, maybe when you download the livery, you can buy and equip them all at once. It’ll likely cost you credits at any rate.

That said, I’m glad they made the tuning menu more screenshot-friendly. I’m fine with only being able to share tunes this way and not downloading them, as even on a the same car with the same exact parts equipped, there are simply so many different scenarios where one tune will clearly be the best one out of many possibilities. For example, optimizing the gear ratios and downforce for one of many track layouts.

EDIT: I definitely wonder if we’ll be able to do drag races and drift trials online? I know they’ll both be missions, but I think it could really prolong the game’s longevity if we could do that sort of stuff in casual online play, especially with how one can tune a car for drag or drift.

EDIT2: I do think it’d be really cool if the Goodwood Hillclimb event returned, complete with an entirely new set of cars you’d be tasked with driving. Perhaps it could be in a content update?

One oddity someone pointed out to me on Twitter, the wide-car marker on the 180SX. Other cars in the showcase section of GT7's SoP video didn't have this. I guess this is an indicator of a car equipped with a widebody kit?

If I complete and share a livery after the 15th, will it still be transferred to GT7, or is it just going to be the ones that are already completed by the 15th?

The wording is unclear but it looks as if:

  • GT7 start Driver/Sportsmanship Ratings will be GT Sport ratings on the 15th
  • Liveries/decals will continue to be transferred from Sport to 7

The Lambo VGT going around what looks like Monaco (exit of Pottier going into the tunnel)
I don't know if it is Monaco or not
Definitely Monaco. I'd question whether it was a mock up by Lamborghini or not. If it's an actual screenshot then that makes it a bit more interesting..

It's a mockup, produced by Lamborghini in 2019, when thoughts of GT7 didn't even exist.

Sorry if i'm out of the loop, but where did you find these?

Wouldn't think so. I believe it's just a Homoligation thing if a manufacturer wants to make a GT car. They would have to make a certain number of "road" versions of the race car they built before entering into a competition. That's how it was back in the day, don't know if it's similar today.

It would be like the GT-R LM Road Car.

They are in the showcase section of GT7's SoP video.

Now the question is,will the Road Car variant of Gr3 Mustang count as a wide body kit?
I'm not sure if it will because it was shown next to the regular Mustang GT in the SoF video. It might still be its own model.

It doesn't seem like we'll be able to pick the colors of our prize cars like we were able to in GT6, but that's OK with me. If I end up getting a car in a stock color I don't ultimately like - whether it's a prize car or something I need from the UCD/BA for a certain event - then I'll just pick that one to modify, and then the model that's in a stock color that I do like will be the one that I'll, well, leave as-stock.

The Showcase section doesn't seem to use the "Wide Cars" note, or that none of the cars in the Showcase screenshot are fitted with Wide Body.

I think it's the latter, as there's still that Nissan 180SX. That is, unless that car was on a different menu - though it looks a lot like it was found in the Showcase section.

This is a random question that has been bugging me since the State of Play...

What is that song that plays in the State Of Play presentation that sounds like Queens Of the Stoneage, but I have no idea who the band is? 🤔

Do you have a timestamp for it?
I'm on mobile and not quite sure how to do it, but I think it's near the part where they showcase the drag race with the Viper 🤔

Not 100% sure.

Near 9min 34 seconds, where they discuss mission races.

I think it's near or around there 🤔

Nothing But Thieves I think.
You are fantastically correct! Thankyou 🙂
Awesome track! Had no idea it's releasing with the game.

Haven't heard this band before, so I'm going to give them a listen 🙂

I just checked the track out on Google Maps after reading your post. Turn 4 would now either be a fast sweeper or a hairpin due to the road being reprofiled. If the track does return, I’m anticipating plenty of people complaining that the track isn’t what it used to be. But a hairpin there would create a much needed overtaking opportunity, with most other spots being pretty precarious.
Nothing I see shows any roads being re-profiled in that area from the construction, but I wouldn't be opposed to that offshoot to the NW being used as an additional overtake spot.

I am going all through my liveries and sharing a lot that have not shared just so I will have them in 7

My bad, the corner is much longer than I remember and it’s only been a few months since I played GT3 last.
