It's more evolution than revolution. Which is fine because I enjoyed GT sports but wanted more single player/career stuff with substance to it. PD doing PD things by making something as simple as career mode unnecessarily complex. I would've been happy with the traditional here's all the career races, get the licenses and work your way up. That would've at least enabled them to work on other areas to improve the game elsewhere. I'm worried that no one has mentioned endurance races, has it been confirmed? Would be strange to implement a complex weather and night/day system and not be able to experience it in career.

Not gonna lie though... this game is gonna consume hours of my life for at least the next two years lol.

I think your post is a mediocre effeort at getting attention.

Because factually you are straight up wrong.

I don’t think he is wrong at all. The actual racing aspects of the game are identical to Sport. Notable exception is weather. This is just a repackaged Sport. If you like tuning then it’s an upgrade for sure. But if you just like racing, not worth it.

What's the point of collecting cars when they are all served in a platter on the Arcade Mode? Wouldn't that spoil what is essentially the bread and butter of GT - working your way up and saving for the cars you want?

Having seen the stream, the AI needs to be reworked.

But maybe for you, it is enjoyable beating mediocre AI in Racing Super Softs.
Think of it this way - if GT7 goes the GT4 route where collecting cars in the Simulation/Campaign Mode at least once permanently unlocks them as a rental/loaner car in the Arcade Modes (basic Arcade Races, Time Trials, split-screen and Custom Races), and in theory, if you've collected every single car the game has to offer, then you eventually have all the cars in the game at your disposal for use in the Arcade Modes, besides the option to use cars in your Garage.

I mean, you already have to unlock tracks in the game through progression in the campaign, so why not the cars too?

Either way, this would make sense, as it still allows people to progress to eventually unlock all the cars for use in Arcade Mode as rental cars. That way, it adds more longevity to the game, and actually encourages people to keep collecting cars to unlock them. An added advantage is that this adds more variety for those who want to play casually, or want to take a break from the campaign mode, for as long as certain cars in question have been unlocked beforehand by acquiring them in the career mode at least once.

Having seen some streams before, when offline, it's really depressing to see only a handful of cars again like in previous games since GT5, where you don't even get to unlock any more of the cars once you've collected them.

I mean sure, you can keep using them, but they'll eventually degrade (minding the fact you'll eventually need to get through overhauling the engine and repairing the chassis), and that you'll run into the inconvenience of buying the same car again but in different colors/liveries if you want to be spoilt for choice, not to mention you have a garage limit of 1,000 cars, and buying two of out of the 424 cars in the game will result in not a lot of spaces left.

I'd like to treat my Garage cars as special custom cars that I can use as an option, and of course, more can be added by playing through the Campaign as anyone would, but I would like to have an option to try anything out of everything once I unlock them, in their original forms, without the risk of performance degradation, and the options to choose their default colors and liveries.

And that's why I ultimately find having all the cars in the game as rental/loaner cars in the Arcade Modes better than improving the AI.

Even the review he cherry picked said it's an excellent racing game.

I understand that there is no BeamNG style aesthetic damage (and people should give up on asking for it unless they have some millions to give), but is there any damage to performance, at least GT2 level? Could there be some manufacturers that don't want it (like way back in late 90s Mercedes and Ferrari didnt like being chased by police in NFS games)?

Getting duplicates now in GT7 is actually better now. You can spend countless hours giving them special liveries and bodykits for you to use them in custom one make races. Also, duplicates that you earn from rewards can be used as test beds for builds, or probably be used as stock cars. And obviously you can get rid of the dupes if you don't want them.

If all cars are made available in the Arcade Mode, the thrill of collecting disappears. And the fact that performance degradation exists in the game is part of the charm in car collection. You get the car, run it, and then maintain it - just like real life.

Also, casual players will surely enjoy the GT mode. If they're just going to be stuck in Arcade Mode, the fun dies, in an instant. They bought the game because car collecting and racing can be appealing to them, especially if they work hard on it.

And if they will put up with mediocre AI, they'll realize it sooner or later. GT appeals to casuals, and said casuals actually improve on their skills over time.

Sophy will be an exciting new addition in the future. The AI is one of the biggest problems of the game at the moment. Sophy can either make or break it.

Giving a limited number of cars in Arcade Mode is fine as it is.

A less than stellar performance of an AI will ruin the immersion.

Hey, so... @Phaceless_Ph thanks for pointing out the ignore button before us

Watching Super GT review, why did he just simply skipped the penalty system in the review? He just said that it's hard to judge how will they be instead of actually judging based on how they are or were when he tested it. WTF?! And it looked like the latest iteration of penalties from GTS - so really bad.

There’s no way he would’ve been able to test how it is now because there wasn’t enough online population to do so, and that will remain that way until GT7 can be played by the millions. Until you have full grids and regular constant sparring you won’t be able to know how it all comes together. That’s not SGT’s fault.

So now we know the AI isn’t (at all?) improved from GTS, does that mean the 4 or 5-chilli races are just against faster (rather than cleverer) opponents? For now I’d be happy with that IF there are enough races at this level.

Certain (but very few) races in GTS league mode were definitely much faster than others and opponents stayed with you when you got ahead (tho it was still too easy to get ahead) - Nostalgia at Goodwood, F1500 at Brands, x2014 at LM - and I’d be really happy if there were more races like that in GT7, even if the the AI cars still corner like the drivers are grannies.

I guess we’ll only find out when we progress far enough...

Do we have a list of events/championships (and their prizes) yet? I want to know how much bigger than GTS’s league is the whole GT7 career mode.

This sounds like you're projecting your personal opinions about this onto all the casual players.

If you're not being forced to use the cars in Arcade Mode, then it's a problem with you and your lack of self-control. You could ignore Arcade entirely and collect away. Besides, the cars in Arcade Mode would not be customizable, meaning you couldn't make them your own, which is one of the greatest appeals of buying a car yourself.

I was watching the review of pixelconnect from Germany with German language.
I saw that the AI characters habe the names of actual and former GT Sport World Tour drivers. Saw Gallo, Hizal, Miyazono, Simmons and so on with right letzer of prenom.

It is a very nice detail if you know some more about GT World Series.

do not forget guys GT6 released in 2013. 9 years later quarter content of GT6 game released. Kazunori laziest producer ever for me.
Ah yes tell me "I don't know how console game making works" without saying it outright.

All you're doing is setting up massive red flags for why you'd not only be terrible to interact with in real life (outside of among certain undesireables on January 6th 2020 to certain people. Face it I can and did go there. You set up your ball on my tee by calling yourself "patriot")

You need a life. Now get one.

I'm just waiting for the usual suspects on here to vehemently disagree with the positive reviews, then argue and demand that everyone else agrees with them that the game is terrible, and will be on discount for $10 within a month.

...oh wait, they're already here.

Anyway...

I think it's ridiculous to be demanding BeamNG and Wreckfest levels of damage, even if it is technically possible, the manufacturers will never play ball. It's why you'll never see licensed games in BeamNG and Wreckfest... and no, the Eagle-R from Carmageddon doesn't count, it's from another video game not a manufacturer.

This has been pushed for years on this forum and met with the same (correct) answer, and the exact same 5-6 people are still arguing for GT to have BeamNG levels of damage.

maybe you ask or email the manufacturers then if you want BeamNG style damages.
