Thanks, so does game difficulty affect the races with peppers?
I have no clue that’s a good question… I was not prepared for those though… I’m running the stock GT500 Supra on race Hards.. and I know in GTS I would detune my car and win easy… I actually might have to buy medium tires and I’m mad about that! Lol I’m super cheap when I play GT..

I was honestly on the brink of leaving this franchise behind.

When I saw the initial GT7 reveal in 2020, I was pleased but cautiously optimistic. GT Sport left a bad taste in my mouth and I knew that it was make or break for the team at PD. I became fed up with the stupid decisions, the daily races, a crap career, the constant adjustments to the physics and the lack of heart that was so sorely missing. I felt no sense of achievement whatsoever and my league racing results turned to poo off the back of the major physics update in 2019. I got more enjoyment out of Project Cars 2 despite some of it's glaring flaws and when I left that game, I made the decision to buy Assetto Corsa on PC because I wanted to experience the very best. Then I bought Assetto Corsa Competizione off the back of that, and I was extremely impressed with they way it simulated everything. I realised just how far behind the game GT Sport was and I became frustrated because it seemed so out of touch with the competition. I doubted PD's ability to produce a good game and my level of skepticism was high to say the least.

Not anymore.

This game is an INSTANT CLASSIC and I honestly cannot believe we are able to enjoy something as special as this today. The whole package is brilliant with weather effects like nothing else, incredible graphics, surprisingly good physics and a huge scope for tuning and customisation. Everything about this game is soo well done (except for the AI) and I simply cannot fault it. This is peak Gran Turismo. Being able to take a s***box Honda Fit and turn it into a race car is hilarious. It's the game we all needed at a time where the industry needed it most, and I'm soo pleased with the result. The heart, the effort and the passion is clear for all to see. It may be built upon GT Sport but it doesn't feel like it in the slightest; it feels like the GT of old and then some. Objectively, this is the best GT game ever made. Not only does it look to the past but it also looks to the future; a future that seems brighter than ever. It may have a similar structure to the old games but it feels new and fresh. PD have done the impossible and I couldn't be happier.
Preach it brother! Couldn’t agree more. This game just sucks me in, even when I’m not on it I’m thinking about it.

Add me to that list, I can't understand the mindset of placing it in a different menu from the regular body kit parts. It's a body mod, so it should be with the rest of the body parts.
It's also annoying when you back out of one of the GT Auto sections straight to the world map instead of the GT Auto main screen. I've already gone to tuning by accident a few times thinking I'm switching between the visual mods menu and car maintenance menu.

I imagine it does? So if base game difficult set to medium (2) and peppers on race say 5, will give it a difficulty of 7. Whereas if standard game set to easy (1), then difficulty would be 6 in same race... or something like that. Speculation of course, don't know for sure.

Loving the game! AI improved and races are fun now.
Can’t imagine how had it was before if this is improved. I don’t feel like I’ve been in a single race. Just get round as quick as possible and see what position you’re in. I haven’t had a single overtake defended or had to defend. I haven’t seen the AI overtake each other, their cars don’t match their speed. They brake randomly and when they don’t need to. The straight line speed suggests they are at half throttle for no reason. It’s just not remotely anything that feels like racing real people.

What races have you done? The gr.3 ones with 5 peppers are fun. Licenses, missions, menu book races are indeed simple.

You doing those races with the peppers? I have seen the AI battle and go off track it was pretty cool… and it wasn’t scripted like GTS GR.3 cup Suzuka

Not sure. I just repeatedly bash x to get through to the race. Is it offered as part of the career progression? I’m up to the Japanese FR book

Race cars can appear in the UCD apparently.

Snagged that from the UCD, slapped some RM tyres on it, tuned the ECU down to 97% to fit below the 600 PP requirement and I just won the World Touring Car 600 championship in it. 😅 Was so fun just throwing the car aggressively over the curbs while slipstreaming behind the big guys on the long straights. The big guys being Huracan’s, 911s, NISMO GT-R’s, AMG GT-R’s and even an RE Amemiya. I probably had less than half the BHP of them (239 to be precise) but for sure twice the fun. 😁

Yeah, finished last in that Daytona race. That was bad.
On professional, i made like 2 places and lost them all going wide..

On normal, i can get to 1st.. still made a mistake and lost it all..

Next time i tried, i got a dude in a corvette and he raced off into the distance.. when i got to 2nd, i knew it was game over and i quit.. He was too far ahead.

Does anyone know how endurance races are incorporated into the main game mode? I’m guessing they will become apparent the further you go into the game?

Do you guys know why my R32 GTR can't even make a u turn? I tuned it and now i can't even make close turns without using the handbrake! ps: Never mind guys i found it! Seems like this happens when you put wide tires on non-wide body car 😅

So the visual tyre flex is gone now compared to GT Sport. Spotted that with modern Mustang with sports tires. Haven't tested other tires yet.

Oh my Gawd !!! This game keeps on giving this a pure bliss!!
I was in the Asia/Oceania championship. Third race Bathurts !
It really hurts , I finalle understand that name now !

Let me set you the mood first.

I have tuned my first car:
- a 2002 Silvia spec-r aero S15

Since I had never drived one in a GT it was the obvious choice for a 2000's Japanese sport car in my case

Well let's upgrade the body a bit
Spoiler , lateral jupe and new kit, with the Gt Auto specialist's help to widen the car with 17inch rims and sleek race tire.
OMG!! now for some cool engine parts
ECU , motor usinage, medium regime turbo, racing brembo brakes, race exhaust, racing suspension
The turbo add a new manifold jauge in the interior car on the cage roll on the right side !
Some ballast for a 45-55 weight ratio
Now let's race it!

On the last and third lap the night was already fully dark ! I head for the last straight down the hill
My headlights barely help me saying in front of me at the distance I see the city lights
I am now at 280kph on the 6 th gear
I know I have to watch out on the right of the track to brake a the 200 meters mark
I must be near now I just know it... Nothing on the right no mark nowhere
Oh **** !!!
In front of me the track disappears , I am now off road and lost!!

THIS, just THIS is enough to make this games legendary !
Having the feeling of the night embracing you into full dark and knowing that you can't recover... BUT Bathurst architect's knows that and if you don't panic and keep it straight you can eventually brake on the sand and slightly turn right to get back on track , I watch behind me the second car headlight's are approaching I knwo i must hurry up if i want to win the first place ....
The rest is just History

This game is a masterpiece . Period

I’m gonna go ahead and assume that access to the “rain license” trophy isn’t even out, or if it is, no one has found out how to trigger it.

It's listed on the Gran Turismo news page as a known issue.
Apparently it should be triggered from completing all license tests with wet weather. It's not a separate license the way I understand it.

(for some reason it's in English on the German GT site but missing on the British GT site)
