Man, I'm doing a custom race on Brands Hatch in Gr.3 cars and.. the AI is actually very good? I'm genuinely surprised. They've been going side by side with not just me, but eachother, constantly fighting and surprisingly not backing out at all when a car gets alongside them. I even saw an AI get pushed off-line going two wide, touch the gravel and spin!

I went side-by-side all the way through the first and second sectors with an AI (in 16th!!) before they defended the line going into a corner (the AI ahead were on a different line, so they weren't just on a rigid one) and forced me to take a slower line through it so they could pull ahead.

If they are capable of this I TRULY do not understand why PD have such a fascination with pitting us against weird rubberbandy chase-the-rabbit AI. Racing close like this is literally 5000x more enjoyable than the system they use in the career mode. It's crazy.

At the very least, I'm glad I know I can enjoy the singleplayer content once the Cafe and missions are done. I was worried it'd be pointless if I'm ahead of the AI by the end of the first lap like you are in the career, but it's lap 5 and I've gone up 5 positions. Feels proper. I love it.

They need too add the option of multiple music rally tracks playing in replay mode, not much fun if you can only choose one song, song finishes and you just have too listen too it again. So glad they added it but coould of been more like gt3 with the effects, plus a bigger collection of songs and tunes from previous versions seeing it's 25years anniversary, all this classical music nonsense, how old do they think ther clientele is.

Hello. I have a invitation to buy a pagani. It expires in 10 days. Car costs 1.3m, so it's a lot of money. If I don't buy it, will I get another invitation to buy it again? If so anyone know how long before I get another invite?

I'm in the same problem, except I got an invitation for the Veneno, 3.6M 😭😭

Some menu logic are weird. The most annoying is GT auto. Every time you want to switch between “car maintenance” and tuning it throw you back to the main screen.
This genuinely one of the most irritating menu choices I've ever come across, because you are quite often going to want to swap from the maintenance bit to the livery bit. Still, it seems to the only one like it, so I'll just have to live with it

Can’t imagine how had it was before if this is improved. I don’t feel like I’ve been in a single race. Just get round as quick as possible and see what position you’re in. I haven’t had a single overtake defended or had to defend. I haven’t seen the AI overtake each other, their cars don’t match their speed. They brake randomly and when they don’t need to. The straight line speed suggests they are at half throttle for no reason. It’s just not remotely anything that feels like racing real people.

I was beaten/overtaken a few times in the mini race. maybe more a sign of my own skill level though :D

cant you downtune or choose a slower car to make it 'interesting'... assuming skill level set to hardest.

I don't know why they won't make every race as challenging, it seems like it's on purpose, the chase the rabbit ones

At the risk of sounding daft, what is the anti lag system?I know turbos have lag so what does this do?
My quick 2 cents on GT7.Loving it so far,i honestly thought it would be just GTS with update but i was wrong on all counts. To me the AI seem a tad more aggressive,or i have just become crap with age, looks great and plays great on ps5.Messed around with taking photos.
A little niggle with the licence tests is that you cant go straight on to the next one,you have to go through the credit awards scene evrytime and the roulette wheel seems a pointless thing.Apart from that im all good with it,dont know about online as i dont have ps+ and dont like to play online anyway.👌
Antilag is basically off throttle combustion in the exhaust chamber. So you lift off the throttle, then the timing and fuelling is set so the fuel makes it way past the cylinder and combusts in the exhaust pipe giving you a rush of air which keeps the turbo spinning fast. Because the combustion happens post cylinder essentially no power is made but the turbo is sitting there spinning at high speed so as soon as you go back on throttle the timing changes, the wastegate shuts and you've got instant boost without lag!

Because antilag is created by combustion in the exhaust pipe you basically have huge exhaust crackle (like fireworks) every time you are off throttle, which GT7 simulates really well! I've got a fully tuned DS3 in the game and the noise of throttle lift under braking is so much fun!!

The only major downfall of antilag is fuel economy which I'm pretty sure is simulated.

You doing those races with the peppers? I have seen the AI battle and go off track it was pretty cool… and it wasn’t scripted like GTS GR.3 cup Suzuka
That's right.

Coffee mode races are simple but peppers and custom races are tough :)

Otherwise, I'm the only one who prefers the oscillation cockpit view mode 2 ?

am i the luckiest man alive ?

Finished the hour long Brands Hatch race, AI still gets a bit funky, but it's better than the career. Leaders were putting in 1:26s vs. my 1:28s - but after 10ish laps basically the entire field slowed down by a couple of seconds per lap until I caught up to them towards the end of the race, where they went back to 1:26s.
The AI that were putting up a fight towards the back of the pack at the start of the race ended up getting lapped by me twice even though my lap times stayed consistent - I guess they suffered ego death as soon as they were overtaken.

Not too surprised, but it's not the end of the world. I don't understand why PD have an obsession with refusing to let the player be anywhere but the front. Just let me turn off the rubber-banding :boggled:

The real reason I wanted to do that though was to see if I can find these mystical oil stains that we have the option to turn on and display on the cars. I was hoping that by doing an hour long race, the cars would have accumulated a bit of muck by the time I crossed the line, but unfortunately they were almost pristine and there wasn't a single bit of oil to be seen.

They did gain a coating of dust, though, which was nice! There was a noticeable difference to the reflections of the car when I toggled the option in the race photo. So that's something, at least. I'd be more impressed by this if I didn't notice the effect in the 5 lap races, bit quicker to do one of those than a 40 lap one.

I wonder how long you have to drive until the cars actually start accumulating oil/dirt, though. It must exist, for it to be an option, and the textures definitely exist because you can enable them in scapes.

Please let me know if anyone has actually seen a dirty car, lol.

I can't find a recent thread about used cars...

Which cars shouldn't I miss?
There's a BMW 3.0 CSL '73 sitting there at 206.500cr (limited quantity). Should I get it or will I receive it as a prize for some accomplishment in the game?

Other interesting cars I see (the question applies to these too):
-Renault R5 Turbo '80 154.000cr
-Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI GSR TM SCP '99 162.000cr
-Alpine A110 '72 140.000cr
-Porsche 911 turbo '81 215.000cr
-Honda Civic Type R EK Touring Car 116.000cr
-Lamborghini Countach 713.000cr
-Toyota Celica GT-Four ST205 '94 78.000cr

Wait, wait. I feel like I've confused things now and am confusing everyone else as a result.

You won a car and credits from the same voucher, or two different ones? If it's two different vouchers, I'd expect all of us to eventually get something different. If it's from the same one, that's where my interest is right now.
I've won a car, parts twice, and all 3 piles of coins, the big one only once. On menu 19 atm.

I’m pretty sure the C3 corvette convertible is glitched. I’m having some massive steering input issues with it. I thought it was my wheel at first until I tried with the controller and it did the same thing. Steering is glitched and ignores or gets stuck during random input points. It gets worse as you upgrade it.

I tried tackling the mustang and Camaro cafe challenge with this car and it progressively got worse as I upgraded it. You can see hands on the steering wheel just stop and then suddenly snap to a further or lesser point of steering. It’s unfortunately not just visual, it translates to driving as well.

Trying to do Daytona was the most infuriating thing I’ve tried in a long time. It kept oversteering off the embankment or over correcting the opposite way and smashing into the wall…

Jumped in another car and it’s as smooth as butter.

Beware!
I’m having some crazy lift off oversteer twitchiness with the Corvette. It’s definitely very hard to stop flicking itself in to a wall or off track.

I’m finding a lot of twichiness in other cars to, as well as understeer. GT7 is a much harder game to play than GT Sport.

Guys, I've just used Wide body on a tiny Fiat 500 (not the Abarth, the normale One) and put on some RS tyres. It became absolutely undrivable...it just can't turn, it simply slides away in every corner...any hints?

This seems to be the same set of used cars everyone has today. My bet is that the dealer changes a bit every 24hrs, and limited stock probably means it's the last day that car is available until it eventually rolls around again.
As for prizes, I don't know, I'm hoping a list shows up somewhere, especially for the fixed bronze/gold prizes for licenses and missions.

Definitely feeling the new aero model. Without adding front and rear aero parts it's hard as hell to brake, take fast corners, get the power down out of corners and the cars are just very unstable in general. Probably a lot more realistic and feels a lot more pronounced than in Sport.

I have to comment on music replays. It is so underrated! I have always wanted dynamic replays and this delivers. There are so many different angles not possible with the normal replays. Absolutely fantastic!!! A replay lover's dream.
It is great but there should be a "dynamic" Camara for normal replays as well. I would also like the option to skip ahead on music replay.
