Im reading a few posts where people are having issues with making tight turns when the car is lowered too much.Is this a bug likely to be patched or is it s simulation of real life, wheels hitting the fender/wheelarch when too low?
This was on the ps4 pro, posted in another thread.
I lowered my mini too far and slow tight turns were awkward to make, raised it again and things were better.

I reckon this is the reason that there's a steering angle limiter in the Extreme tuning tab.

Not sure if more experienced tuners will agree or disagree with me here, but I think something that is perhaps being overlooked is how much easier GT7 makes it to understand how your tuning is affecting the performance of your car in terms of acceleration, turning, and stability, and I say that as someone who never tuned before in Gran Turismo because I couldn't make sense of it. In this game you are literally given a number which tells you what the handling characteristics of your car are, both in low and high speed corners, and every time you make an adjustment, the game instantly captures the change in performance and updates the numbers related to handling characteristics. It means that you don't have to spend ages trying out every change you make on the track, saving the player a whole lot of time.

I tried my hand at tuning an A110 '17 for daily race B, and literally all I had to do to knock off around 2 seconds off my lap time was to change things until the numbers looked like what I wanted to see. I felt like the car was understeering too much in low speed corners and wasn't stable enough at high speed. So I made a bunch of changes to the car while following some general principles I've picked up in the last few days, just basing changes off of what the numbers were in the stability section, and suddenly had a car that was so much more agile in low speed corners while also being super smooth at high speed.

If I had more experience with tuning and knew how to properly optimise a tune, I'd probably be able to shave even more time off. But like I said, I have never tuned a suspension before the release of this game, and I managed to knock a couple of seconds off of my fastest lap in a car that wasn't competitive enough with the stock sport suspension. Tuning is a genuinely accessible feature now, although I do wish there was more advice from the game on how to get started as a newbie, as I did need a basic understanding of how I needed to change the stability figures to get my desired handling characteristics on track.

True. I did a couple of lightly tap the brakes before the jump.

Just ran the Clubman Cup+ at Tokyo. That’s cool. Five cars felt like the old GT. My N286 did alright, but I was on SM and finished 3rd. The AI should be like this all the time.

Edit:… AND PD randomise the cars each race. That’s great!
Yea the AI in some of the races are great! I also stand corrected for anyone who really wanted a competitive offline mode… I can truly understand, when the AI is competitive the racing is good!

Does anyone know, if you buy a second car the same as one you already have, can you interchange parts? I have the Z28 Camaro, and I tuned it. But I mistakenly put an extra weight reduction on it. Can't remove that (or put it back, as the case may be). I'm using one of @praiano63 's tunes, and I'm hoping, since I just spent over 100K in upgrades that I can simply buy a new car and put all those parts on it!

Does everyone else have rumble strip noises when the cars for over the kerbs on corners? When I drive over the kerbs all I get is a gravely sort of noise but no rumbling like you get in all other racing games. Just wondering if this is normal

Yea I think those are flat strips so they don’t make the car suspension stress as much… if you go to Tokyo the small circuit the wheel feels really good going over those red bumps. I get what your saying though some kerbs you would think you would feel more..

You can only use certain body parts. You’ll have to buy tuning parts and widebody separate. Unfortunately. Lots of Cr. spent, tuning seven Corollas with the same performance parts.

Darn. Thank you though. Was hoping I could use that supercharger or muffler or something. Oh well

Spa dry to wet race 911 championship what tires to start on? it's monsoon conditions on the last lap was fricken robbed.

I'm talking about all tracks I've tried, when I go over the rumble strips there is no rumble noise at all, just the gravely noise. I've tried changing the sound to just stereo incase it's my surround sound system but it's the same effect, I'll try it with the TV speakers and see if the rumble sound is there later.

Bro my bad… yea something by wrong then because you definitely hear them! I’m using pulse 3Ds

Intermediate tires work pretty well. Either under the race tab or extreme, can't remember

Edit - I just did this race last night

What wheel settings do you use? I am on T300RS and i have: Torque on 4 and sensitivity on 3, but I am still open to tinker it because it isn't "perfect" yet. Do you have any suggestions?

Thought I'd share a few of my thoughts after spending most of the weekend playing, and I have to say, I've really enjoyed what I've played so far. (This has ended up being a much longer post than intended!)

I don't know if it's a placebo effect after the build up promised improved AI, but that's what it feels like we've got to me! Whilst it would be good for the regular campaign races to have standing starts, or at least two-wide rolling starts, it doesn't feel as much of a chore to try and catch the leader. I think there's two reasons for this.

Firstly, I think the AI is genuinely a bit better (not necessarily perfect, but better). It seems like they react to other cars around them more than in previous games, and will leave space if you've gone for a move down the inside of a corner. I've also seen them fighting for position amongst themselves (not just one AI in a Ford GT using better top speed to blasting past older muscle cars on a straight). I've even seen them make mistakes - in one race, a car in front of me took a slightly wider line into a corner and put a wheel on the grass as they turned in, and in a race at Bathurst, I came round Forest Elbow to find a yellow Skyline sideways across the track having hit the wall.

The second thing that I think helps the racing feel more satisfying is that there's a recommended PP displayed. I don't remember this being there in past games, but this at least helps you choose a car that is likely to be competitive and still give you a chance of the win, even if one 'rabbit' does break away at the front.

I found some of the licence tests a challenge, but on the whole found them rewardingly challenging, rather than frustrating, even S10! The one major exception to this would be S5 with the bumps just before the finish line. The licence tests did throw up one 'feature' that I found annoying though, which was the fact that several consecutive failed attempts would prompt one of the drivers to pop up with "Hmmm... maybe you should study the demonstration". That very quickly started to grate!

Graphics I think are fantastic, which is almost normal for GT. There was one replay angle in particular when I was watching back my S10 run at Spa, going along the Kemmel Straight, and the sunlight shining through the post-rain mist and falling onto the car did make me think 'wow!'

Accessing races through the World Circuits menu actually works better than I expected, at least in the context of the menu books. Once I've completed those it might be a bit more clunky, but at least there will come a point where I will never have to touch the dirt tracks again! Custom races should help increase replayablility too.

I will concede that the car list could be better. There are a few large gaps in terms of missing manufacturers - Lotus, Vauxhall and Volvo come to mind in terms of brands that have been in GT before, Koenigsegg that would be new. It would also be good to see more variety in the brands that are present - whether that be the latest supercars or the newest hot hatches, returning cars from previous GT games, or even iconic older cars that would be new to the series. However, I appreciate that this is subject to licensing, and may also have been impacted by the pandemic limiting how many cars PD can get people to go and scan. Maybe we'll see some of this in the content updates. One thing that does annoy me about GT's car list though is that Mini is still recorded as German - even the original! I appreciate that the brand is owned by BMW these days, but it's still a British marque, and it sucks that you wouldn't be able to use a Mini in a race limited to British cars - to my mind, this is similar to saying that Lamborghini is owned by Audi, so it's now German as well, and you can't race a Gallardo in an event for Italian cars!

It's great to see Trial Mountain and Deep Forest back, even with the modifications that have been made to the layout. Those changes do feel somewhat consistent with the changes you might see on a real-life circuit though.

Can't really comment on multiplayer yet, I've only done one race in one of the dailies. I did encounter one opponent who tried to put me into the pit wall on the run to the line, which was annoying, but hopefully if I can race cleanly myself and not retaliate, I'll come across that sort of thing less.

Overall though, really enjoying the game so far, even though it may have the odd flaw here or there.

Cars with high power, low weight how do you keep them from slipping around high speed corners and generally being very unstable? Most cars aren't capable of generating enough downforce to compensate. I know you can just pull off the throttle but there has to be a way to adjust your settings so you don't have to slow down as much.

TCS? I know people have a problem with it especially being GT game, but I use it in AC and it makes me not only faster but consistent.

I kinda just keep it at the "slip angle" and hold the slide, it's pretty fun, especially in a fully-tuned E30

I think adding all aero parts and then increase the downforce manually front and rear will definitely help!
