Have to say on the whole this game has pleasantly surprised me , yes the ai isn’t up to much yet but it’s an improvement over previous at least pace wise , my only criticism is the so called claims of a locked 60fps seems optimistic on the ps4 pro.

Starting at the back of a 20 car race in arcade is a disappointment from the perspective of frame rate, dropping to mid 40’s I’d say at times.

If they could tidy this up in any way I’d be more than happy until the ps5 become readily available in the year 2058.

Well done game, made me think it was going to piss it down with a dark cloudy sky so I put on inters, was scorching within 2 laps...

edit: won it easily the 2nd time with rs's.

Game is brilliant in many ways - the cars feel better, more solid, react to knocks more realistically (seldom any wild spinning out of control), the AI is definitely much better than in GTS and it’s great not to be able to win easily (or at all), and don’t get me started on the weather and night-time effects - all superb.

BUT, and it’s a big but, certain things definitely make playing a frustrating experience, and if I feel this way four days in, I imagine in four weeks or months I’m gonna be really fed up.

1. The cafe menu system is/was pants. My kids aren’t even impressed. Being forced to collect certain sets of cars is just meh. It looks to me like these were the most unpopular cars in GTS. I just don’t want this clutter in my garage, I want to be the one who decides what to buy or try to win, and what to keep. I think we’re still missing menus 40-50 anyway (Gr2, Gr1, VGT, Classics/Nostalgia, maybe Lambo, McLaren, etc.)

2. It is weird, really weird, that as things stand it looks like we’re only going to be able to collect many cars as high-mileage secondhand models. We all get new, zero-mileage Mini Cooper 65, Sambabus and Beetle, 60s Corvette and Camaro, even WWII Jeep! BUT, we’ll never get a zero-mileage Mclaren F1 (road or race), CLKLM, 962, 787B, 330P4, 250GTO etc. Or the original 240Z and GT-R. That’s just mad.

3. The way we have to navigate around races is terrible, messy, confusing. They need an update with a simplified way of accessing races the ‘normal’ way (eg GTS). I want to be able to jump in a Ferrari, say, and just go do some Ferrari challenge races - having to jump around/find individual races at different tracks in three different time zones is just too time-consuming and unnecessarily over complicated.

As things stand, only 4 days in, I’m feeling I’d be happier if the better races/physics/weather had just been updated into GTS. Even GTS’s Brand Central was better with all the cars in one place.

Edit: they also missed a trick by not getting shot of a few unnecessary cars - why do we still have both the prototype and the real Lexus Gr3 car, why still the two near-identical Clios, why keep all the Gr3 road car versions (not based on real cars anyway, but at least ‘free’ in GTS, now they have to be bought), and now tuning is so good, what’s the point of most of the Gr4 cars at all, again, certainly the ones that never existed IRL?...

Hi all. Has anyone done any endurance races yet? I've done a couple of 3 hour races in Custom Race Mode but I wonder if anyone has braved out a 24 hour race.

I personally love the long races and I would like to know how the dynamic time plays out over the course of the 24. Does the day/night cycle run smoothly on the tracks with a "night" option?

Any feedback appreciated 🙏

What's the official number of GT Sport cars that are not in GT7? I could remember 5: both versions of Mercedes F1 car, the AMG VGT Hamilton Edition, the special version of the Audi R18 2011, and the Fittipaldi VGT. Is that it?

Credit payouts of arcade races and custom races are abysmal compared to campaign events. And I still need a lot of credits for a lot of cars (like… who doesn’t 🙃) For that reason I will only do campaign events until they fix this. Right now I’m running through all campaign races a second time, now using different cars than the first run through.

Well, as a sim.. it is very disappointing. Multi player sucks. Have to start a new lobby each time you want to change a track.
Very good graphics, but it doesn’t hold a candle p cars 2 as far as physics go.
It’s a fun game for what it is. It’s an arcade game. Calling it a “real simulator” is stretching it.
It’s geared for a single player.

Server maintenance tomorrow 0700 to 900 UTC.

Arcade mode and Music Rally will be playable.

Edit. Not quick enough.

Nothing much here I guess.

most likely the game will be updated soon after

Still find the chase the rabbit starts are the weirdest thing. It almost forces you to use a car thats much faster than the ai and makes every race feel like a driving mission in a way... Especially at races where the leader is 30+ seconds ahead of you and you're given only a few laps to catch them.

Grid starts with the possibility of qualifying would be nice please.

i must say this is the happiest moment of my life
Congrats! This test was testing my patience and my mental health! I think I started it at 1.30 AM, and I finished it at 3.00 AM with over 230km, saying that I hit retry for 100 times is an understatement. I think I got 2:24:600, I don't remember, but oh boy, I was SO happy.

This was great fun. I thought S-10 was going to kill me as my first few laps were 6 seconds off Gold pace. Took about 20 retries to get there in the end with a 2:25:528.

Now on to getting Gold on all missions.

Its a sim-cade racer and that is perfectly fine.

Bug fixes.

Having the game start you 30 seconds behind the leader is a cheap way of making things difficult. Why not have better AI that actually races you? I want a race, not a parade.
It will probably never change. It’s been a complaint for several years, and PD just keeps doing it this way.

Even standing starts lack proper racing as the leading cars always go slower on the final lap. Rubberbanding in all its glory.

The UI as a whole in GT7 is not very good.
This is something that happened since PS2 era... yet GT3 was praised for being 'fast'. Though this doesn't mean that elaborate design needs to be purged entirely or such, just actually return the flexibility that ironically existed in the old games; both the quick access and the License select menu (for ALL licenses, not just next License). As GTS also had bad UI choice for replacing the Top Screen with the name of the menu you're in:

For this one this applies on other GT games with UCD? There's always cars that can only be obtained there. But anyway aren't there these options provided by the Extreme part of the Tuning Shop?

They're uniting everything you can do in the track at once in the track menu, as there aren't only events but also Arcade, Circuit Experience, Time Trial, Drift Trial, Custom Race there. In previous games like GT4 there are redudancy like adding Free Run, Race Meeting, Photo Drive, and Family Cup for this in the Track Selection as the GT Mode was separate from Arcade and wasn't the main menu, and that Arcade mode didn't give you money that time (now Arcade gives you money, can take photo, etc. all at once).

Just saying that it's older GT stuff to provide only certain cars at new dealership, while the others go in the Used Cars (albeit GT2 had Used only for Japanese, the other old cars had them sold new). Probably they shouldn't have put the new cars on the Used Cars and let it filled with cars below 2001 only just like older games smh.

Those are legitimate grips but why the constant demand to remove this remove that on anything that is just merely disliked and like, not disastrous? Adding new cars or other features won't need to have unnecessary cars removed or such.

I suspect PD removed qualifying (yes it did exist, on GT1, GT3, and GT4 Championships) and grid starts because they want to add superficial difficulty while keeping the AI terrible at that time (dunno when and how Sophy would be implemented again, they must stop the superficial difficulty here by the loss of racing procedure smh if they have good AI finally). Seems that it showed too that the races that have grid start in GT7 are the ones that has 4 chilis:

It's weird how it seems too much to ask...

I must say it got pretty frustrating getting brake checked by a very quick Lexus at the fastest apex at Tokyo Expressway, flat-out doing 240kph for the 15th time. Suddenly it became a mini challenge within the actual challenge, such was the importance to my race as a whole.

Congrats! That’s on my wishlist as well. ☺️ In fact every car basically is. 😅 So far the only invites I got was for the Lambo Veneno and the Citroen VGT car. Bought both. Waiting for a new invite now, in the mean time I go shipping at the Legend and Used car dealers.
You making me feel like I have no money you got both huh? ok hold my beer…. 😂

The "offset" option is just on or off for cockpit view. It's right next to "wobble" type. I have wobble type 2 on.
The wobble type 2 camera is on another level I love it!!

Edit: Mods sorry for double posting.

It's weird that they would do that. Considering a lot of the faster races that aren't on the menu show the ai is incredibly fast. Take a few of the Gr.3 races for example. It almost feels like the ai is dumbed down a bit on the menu races but it could just be because they're in slower cars.

Yeah it's really immersive. I play with this view since release and I absolutely love it. Especially on tracks with a lot of height differences such as Nordschleife.

That's the thing with weather IRL in races. It's unpredictable so luck and judgment are a factor. I quite like it. The races with off and on rain, tire management, and fuel management are some of my most memorable so far.

You can't even do the career mode? Lame...
