Okay, that argument failed as well. At least half of it.
In your experience, would you find both games comparable in their economies and how they implement rewards?
I personally don't, because in Forza Motorsport you can get rewarded for simply showing up to a race... in Forza Horizon you get rewarded (in XP at least) for knocking down lamp posts. Obviously, extreme hyperbole, take with a grain of salt.
They're all fun in their own ways. I just find players that come from the Forza franchise a bit more entitled or spoiled. Not to say their arguments aren't valid, because they hit the nail on the head sometimes regarding GT7.
No, they're definitely not even close to being comparable. The earlier Forza games maybe, but FM7 in particular is very keen on rewarding you, at least now that the game reached EOL and they've fixed all the stupid stuff it came out with. For comparison's sake I'm going to exclude Horizon from the equation as it's not the same kind of game, but in FM7, aside from the race payouts:
-If you bought the VIP pack you get double credits for every race.
-You get credits rewards everytime you boot up the game from your Drivatar appearing in other people's races, usually not a very big amount, but still. Back when that was still a thing you also had ForzaHub that tracked your progress through the whole franchise (IE all titles) and paid you accordingly every week.
-You get credits rewards for every downloaded tune/design you have, if you're good like
@PJTierney you can make millions and millions just by painting cars.
-Rivals mode as I pointed out earlier gives out a bonus that varies on distance travelled (I just did some tests, it's roughly 5k per lap at Laguna Seca, 3k at Lime Rock and 13k at Le Mans)
-Online races also give you payouts.
-Forzathon also gives out payouts for completing x amount of races weekly, and cars as well.
-Mod cards have % rewards of the total race payout for turning off certain driving aids, changing grid positions and whatnot, these can be pretty serious bonuses depending on the "rarity" of the card. You can apply 3 cards every race, and you can effectively get 300% bonus earnings.
-Everytime you level up you get 3 choices; a car, some credits or some mod cards.
So yeah, money comes by very easily, and there's virtually no credit limit (it stops at 999,999,999) On top of all of that, the most expensive car in FM7 is the Bugatti Chiron, at 1.55 million, which is basically chump change. And with close to 850 cars if you have all the DLC, it means you can spend as you wish without fear of getting broke.
And I'm totally fine with it. Because in the end I get to drive cool stuff around cool places, and I can do it with minimal effort, meaning I can spend more time driving cool stuff around cool places.
