I bought the game on April 26th.
The first two days I was completely engulfed in nostalgia. I was doing all the license tests, the menu books, the missions, navigating GT Auto, looking at the parts list, the tuning menu, the various dealerships... I was collecting cars, doing the campaign races as "intended" (lookin at you Tomahawk), and generally having a blast. I also started doing the circuit experiences.
I'm at collector level 17, Menu Book 19.
Days 3 and 4, I started building drift cars, and Toge cars, and hit the online lobbies. Had fun catching up with a lot of my friends who had already purchased the game.
I've done all the license tests twice. Once on controller, and once on my wheel, just so I can get a feel for the game using both peripherals. Also gave me a chance to compete with my friends on the leaderboards, haha.
Now, this isn't a full write-up just a first impression. I LOVE that you can now search for decals within the livery editor. That is so much more convenient. I haven't gotten the hang of the new editor's features yet, I'm just going street builds at the moment, not multi layered race/drift liveries, but I love it.
Now here's one of my many gripes with the game, I'll get to all of them when I do a full write-up but this one really pissed me off tonight: the lack of power some cars make fully built.
Take this one for example, the Silvia K. I made the livery prior to building the car. Was going for a street outlaw drift/toge setup.

I exit GT Auto, head over to the Tuning Shop and start maxing this thing out. Oh cool, the K comes with the option to fit an anti-lag system, unlike the Q. Which is another gripe I have with this game, some cars don't have the option to fit anti-lag or turbo systems when in fact you can do that IRL.
So after I buy all the parts, I look over to the stats on the right and it says 374 HP, I used the semi-racing exhaust with the race headers not the full racing exhaust.
I thought I'm missing something, surely. Checked everything, and I had indeed bought all the right parts.
Maybe they're not selected in the car settings menu, it can happen sometimes, the default settings might kick in. I check to make sure all the toggles have the right part selected and then hit "measure"
Sure enough, 374 HP.
THE SR20 PLATFORM FULLY BUILT, CAN HANDLE 700HP, POLYPHONY!!! THIS THING ONLY MAKES 374 HP.
My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined.
