Something funny happened days ago.

I was playing The Crew 2. Each week in this season gives you a "challenge". You need to visit many locations and at the last location you gain a reward.
Since some of those challenges are quite long, I thought it could be a fun idea to do each week with a different Corvette.

Well, I decided to do this week with the C3 Grand Sport. Quite good and beautiful car, it's really fun.

Then after I completed the challenge I went to play some GT7 and the StingRay Racer Concept is available. Well damn, what a coincidence. Absolutely insta-buy, didn't even thought about it!

After watching that video, I'm convinced PD need to start adding 'menu music packs' of past GT soundtracks on the PS Store, instead of going so deep with microtransactions. I'd actually pay money to have the GT4 and/or GT5 OST's in the menu of GT7.
That’s not something I’ve ever considered but I’d 100% pay for something like that

I bought the game on April 26th.

The first two days I was completely engulfed in nostalgia. I was doing all the license tests, the menu books, the missions, navigating GT Auto, looking at the parts list, the tuning menu, the various dealerships... I was collecting cars, doing the campaign races as "intended" (lookin at you Tomahawk), and generally having a blast. I also started doing the circuit experiences.

I'm at collector level 17, Menu Book 19.

Days 3 and 4, I started building drift cars, and Toge cars, and hit the online lobbies. Had fun catching up with a lot of my friends who had already purchased the game.

I've done all the license tests twice. Once on controller, and once on my wheel, just so I can get a feel for the game using both peripherals. Also gave me a chance to compete with my friends on the leaderboards, haha.

Now, this isn't a full write-up just a first impression. I LOVE that you can now search for decals within the livery editor. That is so much more convenient. I haven't gotten the hang of the new editor's features yet, I'm just going street builds at the moment, not multi layered race/drift liveries, but I love it.

Now here's one of my many gripes with the game, I'll get to all of them when I do a full write-up but this one really pissed me off tonight: the lack of power some cars make fully built.

Take this one for example, the Silvia K. I made the livery prior to building the car. Was going for a street outlaw drift/toge setup.

I exit GT Auto, head over to the Tuning Shop and start maxing this thing out. Oh cool, the K comes with the option to fit an anti-lag system, unlike the Q. Which is another gripe I have with this game, some cars don't have the option to fit anti-lag or turbo systems when in fact you can do that IRL.

So after I buy all the parts, I look over to the stats on the right and it says 374 HP, I used the semi-racing exhaust with the race headers not the full racing exhaust.

I thought I'm missing something, surely. Checked everything, and I had indeed bought all the right parts.

Maybe they're not selected in the car settings menu, it can happen sometimes, the default settings might kick in. I check to make sure all the toggles have the right part selected and then hit "measure"

Sure enough, 374 HP.

THE SR20 PLATFORM FULLY BUILT, CAN HANDLE 700HP, POLYPHONY!!! THIS THING ONLY MAKES 374 HP.

My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined.

The K's Dia Selection S13 featured in the game is said to have a 1.8L engine, not an SR20.

Yup, I would so pay for menu music packs to be played in GT7. Not just for GT4 & GT5, but also GT1-3. Heck, they could go the extra mile and include the earlier Gran Turismo race start & finish themes.
What I've done, over the years have purchased the soundtracks to GT1-GT5, converted the music to MP3 and placed them on a USB stick in a Music folder, that way I can play the music in the background,
on the PS5 it will override the music except the menu effects, not perfect.

I would rather have sound theme packs added, so the game era that is selected will replace the menu & game music.

Have to imagine that PD has more control (rights) to use the menu music in whatever game they want to use it in,
compared to the original game music with copyright being more of a hurdle where they have to pay the original artist again.

My game keeps crashing when I try to go to the track in online lobbies on ps5. I maybe get to join the track 1 out of 5 times. Anyone else having this issue?

Black screen and have to close the game? I get that when I go into a lobby that’s already in a race (which is half the time because of the stupid lack of telling us). And then when I exit it will give me this crash maybe 1 in 5 times. It’s comically crap for a AAA game.

In the recent update notes there was some`new`label additions to the UCD and LCD,has anybody seen these on their game? Not showing on mine, also it says fixed an issue where you could perform an oil change if not needed.I can still do oil change after change.lol

Am I the only one that turns all the music off? Like, it's one of the first things I do/did when starting the game.
I generally don't do it at the beginning of the game, but instead once I get tired of hearing it. Which isn't necessarily a game problem, but I just get tired of the same music in the same game after a while.

Video removed
New cars are coming and Porsche 911 GT1 98 coming in update.
Yea I would take this “leak” with a pinch of salt at the moment. I came across this video and couldn’t find anything else anywhere to confirm this. Also IIRC isn’t this guy very well known for clickbait GT videos?

He isn't known for doing clickbaity videos. Or that's what I know... lol.
I’m maybe confusing him with someone else then, but my other point still stands - can’t see anything else anywhere about this at all!

The picture came from here:

Background checks on the account gave me suspicious vibes - while the account was created last September, the other two tweets they made were a "sliding into DM" reply (which is in English; the source tweet is in Japanese) and a "No McDonalds?" meme regarding the Russia/Ukraine conflict, none of which are related to GT.

EDIT: There's also the timing issue - there's no GR010 here, but because of Toyota GR GT Cup is on June 6, the GR010 should have come this month.

I wish the above post was official, but reality sucks...

----

Anyway, I originally was going to skip this car, but I was already saving up so much money in the past few days and it was still there. So, I went and bought the Mercedes anyway. It's the first car I bought that was more than 10 million credits too. Up till now, the most expensive car I bought was the BMW Motorsport Mclaren F1 GTR Longtail.

I only turn off the race BGM and leave it on for the replays.

Otherwise, unless you're streaming or playing in a library, it makes absolutely no sense to turn off all (even the menus? Wow) the music.

If it is fake then someone did a decent job, because all cars seem to be taken from the same surrondings, judging by reflections. However, those reflections do not match reflections from the last teaser posted by Kaz. Difference is more obvious if we make both pics brighter.
