I'm still of the opinion PP simply doesn't work when you have such a wide variety of car types, especially those VGTs.

Imagine if PP was calculated in real life, and was used to determine entry into GT500 races. If you make that the only restriction then you'd get all manner of differently shaped cars, different powertrains, anything.

It doesn't work. Restrictions have to be FAR tighter if you want any hope of fair and competitive races. You can't set up an 850PP race and just let anything that makes that limit enter the race, you end up with modern LMPs, old Sports Cars, GT500, random ass VGTs with made up performance figures, it's a mess that BoP could never solve.

No, just stick to restrictions as used in real life.

Width
Length
Weight
height
Max engine displacement
Allowed engine configs
Driven wheels
Turbo allowed or not
Fixed Aero / Active Aero / No Extra Aero

etc etc

That will create far better races than PP free for alls. The single player events so far as so unimaginative and open in restrictions right now. The "WTC [PP]" races are the worst offenders. It shouldn't matter what PP exploits you find, something that looks like this:

Should not be in a "World Touring Car" event. It's silly.
i hope we can ditch these silly make believe "cars" in the next iteration of GT. They are junk, and cars such as the tomahawk will always be able to exploit whatever rating system is created, because rating systems are made to work for real cars. VGT has the privilege of not having to conform with ANYTHING, no realistic road car standards, no racing series standards, just the dull imagination of a dying company that big number good

I don’t like the vgt cars but you can do the transmission glitch with other real cars as well.

However those real cars don't have 2600bhp at 750kg, which exasperates the problem of a flaky PP system, as a ~2200bhp advantage over your rule abiding rivals is quite the boost. We saw it in one of the early daily races too (maybe the first?) where a VGT car just walked all over normal cars because they had no realistic rules to follow.

That didn’t stop it from ruining the manufacturers race last weekend where people were getting lapped on top splits.

I just don’t understand why PD didn’t use the same restrictions as Gr. For every race. They have restrictions as Road car, car from (insert country) only, etc. IT’s like the Daily races, how they restrict races to certain Gr.2 cars and have the GR86/BRZ Cup race.
Maybe BOP should be enabled, for the homologated car races.

There's a few nice but odd car selections in GT7

The amount of new cars is extremely modest for what everyone was amping up as a full release compared to sport, and yet in that car list theres two 240Zs in addition to the Fugu Z that was carried over from GT Sport, and another Porsche 356 complementing the one already in the game. Ditto for the Abarth 595.

They didn't have enough new cars added to be adding variants of existing cars

After doing a handful of circuit experiences tonight, they do. Again, maybe it's just me. Or not since the comment right above yours agrees with me.
I don’t think they are all understeer like dump trucks as you put it, but they definitely handle a lot different (IMO) and it’s just a matter of getting used to the new physics

They do understeer way more. But it might be because you can get on power a lot sooner and harder so you’re carrying more speed at a wider line so it just feels like understeer when we just need to adjust

Did Dragon Trail Gardens alway have night and rain options since release? I remember it only being a dry track but maybe I'm miss remembering? :dunce:

Been doing GT86/BRZ comparison at Tsukuba and it seems like the Toyota is a little bit faster than the Subaru but the Toyota felt wilder. I'm using pad with average skill though so maybe my results aren't as accurate as the pro wheel users here. It's just something interesting to do.

Also anyone knows why the 86 GT Limited '18 uses Comfort Soft while the 2018 BRZ uses Sports Hard?

The 2018 BRZ was the sti edition it came with Michelin Pilot sport 4S very good tire.. I would be rated as a Comforts soft in my opinion… while the 86 GT limited I believe had the Michelin Primacy which I would rate at a Comfort hard tire.

Yes, they have been there since the beginning. Really confused on why they didn't do the same for Seaside if having to rush the game out isn't the reason.

As with the original model, Toyota want accessible limits and adjustability, so I suspect Subaru wants to play on the more sure-footed feel you'd expect from their own range.

Edit: oh this is the first gen facelift models.

Last night I tried (for fun, not a serious attempt) to do the Spa endurance race with the Porsche Taycan. First thing that I noticed was that you can't see how many laps you can do on a charge and there is no way to choose between less power and more range. I managed to do almost 4 laps before I had to go in the pit. I was quite curious to see what was going to happen but it was very disappointing. Nothing happened... The car stops, the pit crew looks at your car, probably thinking: 'what an idiot' and after one second the car leaves with a full battery. I know that using an EV in an endurance race is very unrealistic but they should have made this clear by plugging in a charge cable and let you wait for 15 minutes.

In general cars without fuel tanks nothing happens in the pits, Dodge Viper, Genesis Gr3 etc all have the same, the only thing that happens is they change tyres if you select that.

So... I've been posting these as status updates on my profile, but seems no one is really looking at them on the front page or something. -shrug- =/

Kinda unrelated to GT as a whole, and I know some people on this forum don't really like his music, but... if you're wondering why Daiki Kasho just did remakes of his old work for GT7, well, it's because he was busy composing the first album for relatively new-to-the-scene artist EXiNA a.k.a Shiena Nishizawa as part of Sony Music. The album will be out on 5/18 and will be mostly Japanese, but will also contain a cover of Foo Fighters’ “Monkey Wrench,” which, IMO, could be a good test to see if she can sing in full English, in case Daiki wants her on for any future GT songs.

It was also just announced yesterday that Daiki will join her on her live show on 5/22, which will be his first show since his 2012 Gran Turismo concert. No idea whether it will be streamed or not, though.

The Mclaren F1 GTR Shorttail is even more expensive than the longtail, but still cheaper than the road car. It's 10.5 million credits.
Also, the Audi Pikes Peak Quattro is there now.

It's gonna feel funny grinding for the Shorttail considering how many of these things landed in my garage in GT Sport via daily exercise bonus.

EDIT: Also, a couple of my recent daily roulette rewards lately were extended invitations, ones for cars I was already invited to. Frick!

Personally I have no problems with 5k being the lowest reward in roullete. 2k coins go to hell though, it serves no purposes whatsoever. 2 things you could probably buy with it are Ballast and Power Restrictor lol
