Man! I had a blast on GT7's online today! Met so many cool and fun people while playing a game of "Chase" - two street cars chasing each other traffic, and police chases in my GT-R Safety car! I hope I can do that all that again!

I see - good to know. And I take it that if I see a lighter blue section on the indicator, it means I’m hydroplaning?
The blue section is a good indication that you could hydroplane but, depending on your speed and vehicle weight, you won't necessarily. If you've got high downforce and you're not completely banzaiing it, you will normally get away with a brief wiggle and then back to grip even with quite a wide blue band on the water indicator. Obviously best avoided if you can, but usually saveable. Personally, I enjoy wet racing, the AI seems to back off more than I do, and I haven't bought Heavy Wets for any of my cars, only ever Intermediates. With a bit of care, IMs will do you just fine, they last longer than Wets and are better as the track dries than Wets.

I hope they hold back another two weeks and give us some more content than just three cars and one track that we already have that only has the pit exit position changed and start position changed. I do hope some time in the future they give us a proper campaign mode though. That CAFE thing just feels like a sort of ARCADE mode that was in previous GT games.

i bet friday before toyota cup add gr010 hybrid for race 3
I still think we can get two updates like last month...
First should be this friday/next one with new events to existing tracks etc and some bugfixes/features

Second one with new track/layout and new cars at the end of May.

This would be good enough. I hope for more 30 minutes/1 hour races to existing tracks to get more grinding options.

I hope they fix meeting places soon. They're great for convenience except, well, when they don't load :D
Oh and adding the Nordschleife Tourist layout to lobbies would be great.

I just thought of an idea to keep the Cafe useful after you finish the game.
PD should add daily/weekly challenge menus that you can complete to earn roulette tickets or rare parts.
Would be a decent way to keep people coming back... as well as seasonal events, of course.
That would be quite good actually. Shutting the café after you've completed the menus seems such a waste

I think the cafe should be the portal for meeting spots. Since it's more about hanging out than racing. And not all circuits have them, it's confusing to have in the Arena. Plus the cafe is in the middle....not doing much.

Have a bulletin board inside the cafe with all the Meeting spots on 1 page to make it more visible and easier to navigate.

The goal for the Meeting Spots I believe to help people become friends by hanging out as opposed to racing. So I think it makes more sense in the cafe.

Not that anyone asked, but I feel like I’m one of the few who doesn’t want to grind. Not just because I don’t like the very concept of grinding in any game, but also because I recall Kaz/PD saying that grinding isn’t their intent. So I’m definitely willing to be patient and wait for more events in World Circuits, but also new modes altogether, as well as new courses that will likely have new Circuit Experiences as well. (Nevermind the fact that I’ve yet to get golds on everything we have now.)

Also, keep in mind that not only will we likely get new rounds for pre-existing events in World Circuits, but we’ll also see new events altogether, like the two we’ve so far only seen in the Jimmy Fallon build.

I’m also hoping we’ll get new menus, like the ones we saw in pre-release builds for kei cars and the 86.

The Tokyo race with the Tomahawk feels like a grind but the new Spa event doesn't. I'm doing one Spa race each evening and 1 or 2 other races, mostly Tokyo, for fast money or a Trial mountain race for fun... I'm having cr. 13.000.000 and I'm waiting for some legendary cars to return that I missed out on the first time. We need more 'fast' money options but for now Spa is enough for me.

That was a blatant lie though, he wrote that in the "I'm sorry you feel that way" non-apology after they nerved Fisherman's Ranch to try and force people into buying microtransactions. He meant that grinding wasn't intended to be an alternative for buying credits.

Yup. Same here.

FWIW, this is specifically what Kaz said:

I want to make GT7 a game in which you can enjoy a variety of cars in a lot of different ways, and if possible I would like to try to avoid a situation where a player must mechanically keep replaying certain events over and over again.

People have different ideas of what grinding means obviously, but "mechanically keep replaying certain events over and over again" does seem to refer to not having one clear META race to grind. I don't suppose PD would consider the fact that there will inevitably be some repetition for most players as grinding - they reasonably could just assume that to just be playing the game.

The grindiest thing for me so far in GT7, has been ******* S-10!

All that and also Sell Car feature this month.

here’s a new bug:

ran some Race B today, after some qualifying laps. later, I logged in to do a quali lap for Race C.

when my lap started, it had my Race B quali time (2:02ish). the sectors would go purple, but at the end of the lap, my 2:20 did not replace the 2:02. When I backed out, the time I just ran came up on the black screen… but my top time was still from Race B. Neither time shows up on my leaderboard.

I’ve not done a Race C after this to see where I start in the pack… I know I would just bleed places, but it may not be as funny for the other drivers as it is for me.

Anyone else get that bug in lobbies where everytime you press X (I do this to upshift) on controller, the menu error sound effect plays each time?
It used to happen if you pressed start while in the lobby, anytime after that you'd press X and it would make the noise. But it was fixed for me after the last patch.

I didn't think it would be this soon, but I stopped playing GT7 a couple of weeks ago. Best gameplay Ive experienced for a long time, however it needs a fresh context to be stimulating... "NEW" TARMAC PLEASE!

He says that but still only makes 3? 4? events actually worth playing in terms of credit income. Doing anything other than Tokyo 600, Le Mans, Sardegna, or Spa is just a waste of daily mileage.

We need so many more events across the board with different car restrictions with the same level of payout to make this game not a grind. Hell, every event in the game should all be similarly rewarding per time investment. What difference is there between the Le Mans 700pp (7 laps on average) and 800pp (5 laps) races that warrants one having 5 times the payout?

Alternatively, just make Custom Races actually worthwhile. If PD can't be bothered setting up new events, then at least let the players do the work...

Glad I'm not the only person here who has noticed what I did too. The lack of live Seasonal Event's in GT Mode with this economy is PAINFUL. Grinding isn't fun, give us hard challenges that refresh every so often that rewards players for their effort, and for the players who log on while keeping the community alive.

I said this back in September -

I have come back to the cafe many times with the rare expensive cars hoping that there would be anyone there to talk to me about it but no, the place is dead empty, even the waiter stopped refilling my coffee....

IMO the biggest mistake of PD was adding the Human Comedy events as missions, not World Circuit events.

If they were in World Circuit, repeating them would still give the top prizes. They are 8 events and all of them are interesting. But Missions are supposed to be done only once.

Which brings me to the next issue. Missions do have a ranking based on results. However, this is something I'd expect to see in a purely old school single player game without games as a service features such as timed content. Since content is timed and cars are expensive, there's no incentive in testing myself, because not being rewarded for my effort feels like a waste of time.

Even time trials feel like a waste. GT is lagging behind games like Forza with Rivals mode and NFS with Autolog by not rewarding you when you do time trials.

So...the rain at the 1 hour Spa race...it's literally the most intense rain I've seen in GT7. Past two races have produced green intensity on the weather radar. I will post pictures soon. But yeah. Pro Tip: just take wets when you see that rain a comin'. Last race with the GT500 NSX-GT I ended up switching from wets to wets. Fun.
