Criticism should address the issue at hand. Reporting the problem, offering up a solution, or discussing why these problems arise.

None of the major forums I visit tolerate personal abuse aimed at individuals. Be they devs, posters, or whoever else.
It's not personal abuse to suggest that the problems with an auteur's product might be due to the presence of the auteur themselves, and that the product as a whole might in fact benefit from the removal of said auteur. That's what you get for being an auteur and the visible face of a product.

I mean, very few people have a problem with the statement that the Game of Thrones TV series would have finished better if D&D had buggered off and let someone competent run the last few seasons. We can all see how badly they messed up what could have been one of the greatest television series of all time.

Gran Turismo is far from the trash fire that was GoT Season 8, but I think the state of Gran Turismo releases in the online era raises some very fair questions around whether the direction of the Gran Turismo franchise is all that it could be. And an obvious potential solution for a franchise so strong associated with a single creator would be to put someone else in charge. Whether such a thing would be Gran Turismo in anything but name is debatable, but major games have been turned around like this before.

I heard Gallo is taking a break from GT7. Says he wants it to be more eSports ready, but I'm not sure what he means by that
I would imagine his issues would be server lag, penalty issues and BOP. But he wasn’t specific so just speculation. In the last round I know he said in race chat the game was a mess or something similar so he’s not been happy for a while.

They used completely different 3D models in GT SPORT, but the 22B got a huge update in GT7, using some same parts from the WRX-R now. (But still their bases are not perfectly the same)

Thanks for that. I'll be honest, I use a controller so I've always found the manual box a bit of a faff. I use the auto option on everything. Dropping the downforce sounds like a plan for speed on the straights, but my bigger problem is my appalling driving at that speed on the wiggly bits! I've dropped 30 seconds off the pace by the end of the first lap due to constant diversions across the grass 🤣.
You're very welcome. With the manual shifting, have you tried mapping shifting up and down to the face buttons? So say X is shift up and Square is down?

A few of my friends who use controller have tried this, and it's what I use for the rally and drift events.

As for the speed in the infield section, it's all about breaking early and getting the nose turned in and being patient on the throttle. Don't stress about not making up places in the twisty bits, you'll be much faster on the straights.

-I heard Gallo is taking a break from GT7. Says he wants it to be more eSports ready, but I'm not sure what he means by that. That said, I'd appreciate more interesting regulations, like permitting tuned/customized cars, potentially even with an engine swap and/or widebody. I do like the regulations for the races so far - such as the Le Mans race that limits you to four modern racers, or using a VGT as the basis for a one-make - so I just hope the trend continues.
I’m not surprised with Gallo’s comments, PD have managed to go backwards from Sport and have worse penalties and BoP than the previous iteration. I don’t see why penalties could’ve been copied and pasted straight out of Sport, and surely with all the World Series drivers they have they’d be able to work with PD to fine tune the performance balancing even better now then they were able to before, but no.

If the main competition vehicles can’t be balanced and online racing can’t be held at a professional standard, this is a problem for all levels, from top tier competitive esports to casual online racing. You would think PD would’ve learned how to do this well after operating an esports-focused game for over 4 years.

And Gallo didn’t just say esports ready, he made a general comment of this being a “proper game”.

After 3 months:

  • We can’t sell cars
  • Lobbies are fundamentally broken, being unable to change circuit and kicking everyone if the host leaves
  • There’s several classes of vehicles that don’t have career/offline events available for them, and the ones that are represented are in barebones thin quantities
  • The economy is still poor and predatory, forcing endless repeating of a select few events or micro transactions if you want to get legendary cars

PD has let key aspects of the whole online community and gameplay-loop ecosystem falter and rot week by week, month by month. It needs to change, and I don’t blame any of the major GT figureheads for taking a break or leaving outright.

I only played Sport at the end of its life but there were no contact penalties at all which is pretty much where we are now and it’s horrendous. The system before the last update was brilliant. Yes it got things wrong and handed out unfair pens but it basically eradicated push to pass and running others cars wide off the track; both of which have now completely ruined Sport mode

The other car is the Suzuki Gr.3, I had hoped for a closed roof tho.
Third car looks like some Hot Rod to me?

Probably don’t need to save much. Gr.3 Suzuki would be about 450,000. Escudo Maybe 3,000,000 going by the increase with some of the past cars. What a ‘32 Roadster worth? $200,000?

Just give me the 190E DTM and RS500.

I still think that having to develop for 2 separate platforms at the same time is killing their workflow. There's no good reason why all of a sudden they're making less than half the content they were for Sport.
Bro, we're getting the escudo and you are complaining😗, c'mon enjoy something for once

Why are we getting only 3 per month? That should be the question. Bottom right looks like a useless classic hotrod and bottom left is another ****** VGT probably. Only the top is isteresting, which is most likely the Escudo. Those updates are getting more and more boring in terms of car choice every month. I'm honestly sad to see my favorite racing franchise in such a shape... This game desperately needs 2017+ road/race cars but Kazu is still adding a useless VGT and almost 100 years old hotrod?!

Something has to happen in the background because they have significantly reduced the production of new content compared to GTS. Maybe they are working on psvr2 update or PC version port/or GT8.
“Future plans“ confirmed, so the meting of Hulst and Kaz end of April.
So anything in the making.
