Something seems off way the trees illuminate, they almost seem to “pop in” and out of illumination within a certain distance. I couldn’t find any comparative front angles that also illuminate the trees, this is the closest I found:

There seems to be a bit longer “fade time” as cars approach and pass by. I think the video in the tweet may be a rendering, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s in the GT7 engine. Hopefully it is and we get to see a few more slivers of the game.

This is something either pre-rendered (a very good pre-render)
Because car companies can branch out and output something of this quality in something they're not specialized at

(Makes me wonder what company does good renders of cars and place them in a very gamey environment and great camera angles :confused:)

or simply a real life video.
Because all of a sudden, they decided to build a working prototype and film it just off a pretty busy highway stretch without no one ever noticing anything

I watched that last section of the video back and forth for like 5 minutes. It's really hard to tell, but looking at the illuminated vegetation on the side of the road at the end of the video, I must rule out GT7 in-engine. PD never had such detailed vegetation, trees included. No way in hell they're gonna start now, all of the sudden.

GTSport trees/vegetation is probably the best of the 60fps console sim racers, given if PD artists had time to develop it. Sadly many tracks in GTSport don't live up to the quality of its rendition of La Sarthe or Nurburgring. Stuff like Alsace Circuit & Red Bull Ring vegetation/trees looked ps3 era compared to La Sarthe.

The pre-render is right above you.

The vegetation in the Jaguar tweet is way more detailed than that. I know GT's La Sarthe

Look at houses in La Sarthe in GT Sport....

When trees are close to the track, they can be very beautiful. But if they are far away and numerous, the quality drops to maintain a good framerate.

Trees at Nurburgring in distance aren't really same quality as those close to the track. It's all about compromise.

I'm talking in general. After some tracks, the vegetation can be better.

If this is GT7, the asset quality here is so much better than the Trial Mountain reveal and GTSport's. Grass actually looks believable too and not just a bunch of obvious straight 2d alphas sticking out top of the ground.

Pls be GT7

I mean, the original argument was that GT doesn't have detailed vegetation, when GTSport probably had the best of the sim racers, especially with each leaf having proper physically based materials with subsurface scatter, and illuminates and shadows properly based on the sunlight position. If GT7 is ps5 only, then the bare minimum hardware they're running on is considerably more powerful than PS4 and they are no longer bottlenecked by a very weak laptop CPU like PS4 had, so it would make sense for the Jaguar footage to be more detailed than GTSport's, assuming that's even GT7 footage.

Hell if it's GT7 from that teaser, the game looks fantastic

But i don't know...the things looks to much realistic for a video game, the tarmac, the lights over the trees, the sky, the headlights reflections
If they don't look that realistic then i assume fps rates would not be an issue at all. If that had rain it would immediately be apparent.

GTSport has the subsurface scattering on the trees lit up by car headlights too, but to a lesser quality. The thing that looks most out of place to me in the jaguar footage is the tree trunks/branches. They look like they could fit in with GTSport's and are pretty obviously not real life.

Lets be honest are you really surprised? I dont think anyone was truly expecting a single inch of new info regarding GT7 simply because of a VGT :indiff:

It could be a possibility, that guy tweeted about it being in GT7 and Jag tweeted something that looks like GT. If a studio rendered that, they sure made it look like a video game. In any case we are getting something new from PD which is better than nothing
