I need to try this circuit properly. I gave it 5 mins at the end of a lunch break and it was disastrous 🤣
All I'll say is that I spun out a lot.

If GT7 had GT3's dirt physics, this rally cross track would be more fun to drive on. Sure, it would be even more unrealistic than GT7's dirt physics, but at least it would be super fun.

I think the WTC Rallycross race is a lot of fun - its just a shame it pays absolutely awfully. I'd happily whip my little Delta around there as a grind.

I have to say that how the tyres work now is awesome. I love how it feels. MR cars drive amazing and the McLaren is crazy awesome. Probably the best 8 milions spent in the game until today. Had lots of fun in the lobbies with other players around Spa, Monza Nd Barcellona
Personally I grind in Spa. It looks stunning under the rain and during the sunset, night and sunrise. I use every time a different Gr3 car. 1.5 milion in a no stop 60 minutes race. Give a try

Lol, why do you call it GOAT? Well anyways I'm ordering my copy this week, see I went over to my friends house for 4-5 months and he let me play on his ps% console, gt7 is cool I guess, way better than Nascar IMO.

A couple of things added to the known issues

I would like to try to avoid a situation where a player must mechanically keep replaying certain events over and over again.

We will let you know in time about the update plans for additional content, race events and features that will constructively resolve this situation.
18th March Kaz wrote that. 29th August and still people are pushed into replaying certain events over and over again because a) there isn't enough events in total and b) of the events that are available, only three pay at about the same highest rate.

It is not "constructively resolved" at all.

It's like they forgot the absolute basics of progression in a video game. You start with events that pay peanuts and then as the player progresses through the game you gradually unlock events which pay progressively more until at the end of the game all the events are paying the maximum amount you've chosen.

I’m still a bit undecided as to what car I’d wanna make my “firm favorite.” I mean, yeah, I could just buy ten of the karts, but I feel like that’s a boring method of getting that trophy. But on the other hand, you might only want three of a given car at most - one to leave as-stock, one to modify with its stock engine, and another to modify with a potential engine swap. I suppose I could get a fourth to both modify with its stock engine and actively not install a widebody (while still installing other aero parts) but even then, that’s not even halfway to the goal.

Whichever car I end up picking, I’m thinking of something that’s under 50k credits. And as far as I know, while a given engine may be compatible with multiple cars, I don’t think there are any cars that can take more than one engine swap. The only technicaly possible exception being the Volkswagen 1200 and how the Porsche engine it had in pre-release builds is different from the Porsche engine you can put into it within the final build.

In part I like the new tire wear system, with more realistic wear, tires have more grip when they are half used (as It should be IMO), and the cliff thing is quite well made and realistic....
Except that its much harder to save tires now. No matter how smooth you drive, the wear will be still a bit high and not very far off as if you were driving agressively?

I don’t think that last bit is correct. I was doing the Daytona WTC 800 in a SLS. Normal driving shredded the rears halfway through lap 5, couldn’t even make it to the pits. Restarted and drove more carefully, still had some life in the tyres as I pitted on same lap.

Ok but the difference is minimal now compared to before? I mean before the last update the difference between driving agressively and driving smoothly to save tires could be huge in terms of wear

Definitely not true, tyre saving in the last manu cup race was the difference between finishing the race well or ending up in the wall - if saving didn't work properly then noone would've made them last.

OK I'm saying tire saving works but the difference is now much less than before.

Pay attention to how the car feels, not what the HUD says. They didn't adjust the tire wear, only how it is displayed with the icon. They may look like they are wearing faster but they are not.
They did. I tried a none tyre stop run and I ran out of tyres on lap six. Prior to this update I could do all seven laps on hard tyres if the weather allowed. Hard tyres have been nerfed.

So that's a good thing then, as the difference between hard and medium/soft was huge. Medium and soft were too similar, medium just a bit less grip and just a bit more durable... and then hard a whole different class, lasted soo much compared to the mediums, like, almost 3x more, and the grip was not 3x less. It's like... for endurance racing hard was the one and only choice.

I think it is safe to say PD at this point have not done a good job with their approach to Race A - and their attempt to create a casual race that appeals to everybody has mostly failed, regulars have been turned away because it no longer counts to anything, and new/casual players seem to either avoid Sport Mode altogether (and thus do not see or care about race A, DR enabled or not) or, more likely, get bored as the race is the same thing for a week straight - something that is simply not interesting when it is a standard race.

Behold: My solution. First things first, return Race A to its standard form starting from next week. That's an easy one. Crossgen in dailies would also be nice, I feel like it is time for that for the sake of the bleeding player base.

Now, the meaty stuff. Illustrated by yours truly.
There's another dock in the bottom left of the world map that isn't used for anything. The other one is used for lobbies, so in my opinion - the following only makes sense.

I propose it is turned into a "Quick Race" option that pops every 10 minutes on a random track/car combination. This can range from tuning races, to BoP, to one-makes - the standard things you would see in Sport Mode, but displayed in a separate location as to not deter people from it, and have it marked up so people know exactly what they are getting into.

Have the timer displayed below the icon, so people know when the races are, and then have the category displayed beneath that so people can decide whether or not it's something that interests them - as to prevent people queuing up, getting a SF19 car, and dipping.

This of course also needs to be crossgen - it is pretty inexcusable to have a half segmented playerbase for no real reason - stability in GTWS events seems much better to me so if they are afraid of using it in dailies still, this is a perfect testbed!

Actually, in the original city map we first saw when the game was announced, there was an icon for Special Events. Assumedly like the ones in GT5 and 6 for Senna, Nascar, the Red Bull X, etc.

This dock could be for that. The Music Rally could be moved to here as well.

-sigh- Man, wish we knew how far PD's plans went for this game...

That's okay, I'm sure some forest could be... deforested... to make room for my behemoth orange hut.

I would love for Special Events and seasonals to make for a return, it is ridiculous we are essentially six months down the line and still in such a dire position that is honestly very easily solved - but if they haven't listened to the amount of people telling them this isn't how a live service game works and that the game is missing basic amenities in the course of half a year... I don't think they ever will listen.

Aren't special events, and 'coffee breaks', now called the Mission races? I'd rather that dock be used for GT5-style seasonal events, but I do like the idea of having a race that randomly generates a car/track combination and lets cross-gen players compete against each other.

Special Events are more or less themed around certain stuff (like Nascar) and come in groups, IIRC from GT5. Regular missions aren't themed like them.

Plus the two of them were separate icons on the original city map anyway.

Then again, they could always merge them into one like they did with World Circuits and Championships... despite how much of a tight mess it ended up being now.

I wouldn't really mind if they combined them to be honest. I honestly think more things in this game should be combined. Licenses test center, Mission races, and World Circuits should've all been combined into one menu. Tuning shop and GT Auto should be combined. And lastly the BC, UCD and LCD should've just been Brand Central like it was in GTS.

...This game has too much clutter. I feel like I am navigating a poorly maintained Windows PC. :indiff:

True. And on PS4 there's a little loading time to everything as well... PS5 is an instant load at least.

There’s something seriously wrong with the game. It replaced my car two laps in a row for no reason. I was literally in the middle of the race track both times and didn’t wreck or anything. Not that it applies, but I have the replace car option turned off. It did it two laps in a row on Le Mans rain. Laps three and four. So frustrating
