Yes. It would be much better to have an option to win invitation or even car requiring invitation on those weekly events. Like special car prize.

The second one seems better than invitation alone since players who got invitation cars wouldn’t mind getting second expensive car.
I really don't understand why they didn't just add the invite cars to the hagartys legends cars rotation.

Now we have 2 content walls

1. Legendary dealer rotation
2. Invites

They only needed one mechanism IMO

UCD is the same, just in smaller scape for its bigger size.
To me there is no reason to make cars available on random encounter.
It is not like they are temporary buffs to a player character or anything remotely similar.

The invitation system was an experimental feature. In concept it's not a bad idea, but the way it's been implemented isn't that great.

If they had a "Brand Affinity" system like Forza Motorsport 4, where you level it up by completing races with said brand's cars, having a non-expiring invitation to buy otherwise locked cars once you've reached a high enough level would be a far better way of doing what I think Polyphony were trying to achieve.

I've believed for some time that even PD knows this, otherwise various post-launch cars like the 918, Valkyrie, and Chiron would similarly be invite-only.

EDIT: In the UCD, what colors are the Volvo and the Sileighty? I'm curious, since I think they're lower-mileage examples.

Oh, you wonder why?

To entice you playing the game for sole purpose of roulette tickets and such.

Pretty pathetic system honestly, as if game itself can't provide content, which it certainly does, albeit could've done it better by not relying on masses that play what they've given, rather playing what they want (Looks at GT7 career structure vs GT4)
This is actually the only sane explanation behind it. Doesn't make the system any better, but at least makes some sense. I definitely find myself doing daily mileage pretty much just to get that invite and sometimes I do open the game just to have another chance, so it kinda works. Still weird, they got rid of all other casino-locked things in the game. First they introduced part and engine only tickets, which increased chances of getting this stuff, and then they just completely scrapped it and made it purchasable. I guess after all the complaints they decided to fix other roulette-exclusive stuff and left only one. Would explain why this system is so incredibly bad (surely they can't think this is the best way to implement exclusive invite-only vehicles, this thread alone has millions of better ideas) and why we didn't even get at least a ticket with only invites. Also, looking at all those "I can't get that one invite" messages making me wonder if they actually coded it so one random invite is almost impossible to obtain.

Well, I did some racing again recently, and I uploaded this YouTube video of when I was driving my custom Nismo 400R '95 on the Nürburgring GP/D doing the Japanese 4WD Challenge 600. How do you guys think I drive in GT7?

I did slip up in one part of the video though.

My last new invite was the pagani invite. I got it october last year and it took me 1 year and 8 months to get since the previous "new invite". Ever since then I got 3 or 4 new pagani invites. Its random but it almost feels like mockery

Other than the rotation of cars in the other dealerships (Used/Legend) and brand invitations, not having all cars available as rental cars in World Circuits and Split-Screen Race is another jarring issue other than the unbalanced economy and lackluster career structure with lack of variety.

As mentioned earlier, Polyphony are aware of the negative reception of said mechanic when cars such as the Porsche 918 Spyder, Bugatti Chiron and Aston Martin Valkyrie don't need any brand invitations, but yet they still turn a blind eye on these cars that still require them.

As for the dealership rotations, they could either bring back the in-game days system like in GT4, or get rid of the rotation entirely and make the lineup like Brand Central where all cars can be bought brand new and on-demand, where the only thing that separates these dealerships from the others would be the generation of cars sold in their lineup, kind of like sorting cars "by era" in GT4's Arcade/Free Play mode.

Lastly, you can rent certain cars in Sport Mode, but not all the cars in the entire game in the single player and split-screen modes.

Too late question: Can you disengage the clutch of the cars with a non-synchronous sequential gearbox (most of the race cars) by a clutch pedal controller?
The online manual for GT SPORT says it's impossible, but since most of those race cars retain a clutch pedal, I'm not sure whether if it's true or not.

No.

Invite drop rates are 10% from 4 stars/8% from 5 stars.

You seem to propose this frequently, and I have to say it: having all cars rentable in World Circuits seems to defeat the purpose of owning cars.

The only exception would be the career mode events and championships, where they couldn't be used from there. The only ideal ways to rent them would be in Quick Race, Time Trial, Drift Trial and Custom Race, as well as Split-Screen Race.

It's a problem because Arcade Mode isn't as separate as it used to be. If Arcade Mode was not in World Circuits, it would make sense to have all cars rentable.
Also, when the servers are down all cars should be made available. It's not like we can save them during that time. Wouldn't hurt for everyone to sample everything in the game.

Is this data directly from the game or calculated from observations? 10/8% for all invites in general doesn't mean there can't be one specific random brand invite to set to 1%
Not like I actually think it's the case though, it's just weird how so many people claim to never recieve one specific invite while recieving enough of others. But it can easily happen even if it's not rigged.

Here are my stats on 25 invites :

Obtained through 367 DW tickets. (217 of which were 4 and 5*)

Kinda hard to tell, it's still possible you will never get another Lambo invite even after another 25. But this data alone seems random enough so definitely doesn't prove if one of the invites has significantly lower chances.
6 Ferrari invites, can you share one? :(

Oh well, that answers the question, just shenanigans of Random then. Gonna go pray to random gods to recieve pretty much the only invite I ever wanted to get.

Absolutely... The Lambo one was the last I needed. And I've received more than an invite per week since I don't need them anymore, while I was some months getting zero invite while I was eagerly waiting for the Lambo.

If only... I have 3 or 4 active at the moment... absolutely useless.

This game mechanic is really bad but I am still playing everyday, despite not needing more invites, so there are ways to keep players engaged without such an awful trick.

The mystery that still lingers over me: The quality of tools at people's disposal...and yet they choose to just make the same thing over and over again (See: Every damn Open wheel car with an F1 livery slapped on it)

It isn't just the Bugatti Chiron and Aston Martin Valkyrie, but also even the Porsche 918 Spyder. All three of them don't need brand invitations.

Brand invitations are just some terrible mechanic that just doesn't make any sense, or is just implemented so poorly.
They're implemented perfectly as they generate FOMO and players keep playing. Break the cycle, it's code, you will never own it. You miss out on nothing by consigning these cars to oblivion

Love this new update, the cars sounds and feel great, nice to see a track after not having one for so long, the physics is a lot better for me,
Their is improved grip witch is very noticable with rwd cars, they was spinning out way to much of the line before this update,

Rally has finally become much more enjoyable as well,
Things are moving in the right direction.
In my opinion gt7 2nd or 3rd best update to date.

The events was quite lackluster through i kind of expected a little more.
