I think someone should try to replicate the shot in GTS just to see it.
First guess:

So, to launch early next year the graphics must be final then, I was expecting a bit more improvement besides ray tracing, it looks basically gt sport with ray tracing and longer lod.
GTS already had (basic) ray tracing and already looked spectacular, so GT7 'not being that much of an upgrade' isn't that bad and is expected.

Huh. I can definitely see some reflection improvement, but notably the amount and detail of the dried grass on the ground...
There is more grass further up the hill, but I can't quite get the angle right to show the car, the silo, and the building all through it. That said, having gone through all the foliage, it does look like a newer environment.

Part of me think they’d show a tad more if there was something new. Just my cynical take.

Personally I think it’s more likely (especially with a confirmed window) that Sony is putting the ball in PD’s court to market the game at an upcoming event - I’m really leaning towards the GTS broadcasts.

What we see in GT Sport is pre-baked ray traced reflections and not not real time, so it is very basic.

Havent commented here for a while and iam not really playing GT anymore.

I would like to say why because this is kinda connected to the upcoming Gran Turismo.

After GT 6, so in GT Sport, the handling (steering) changed heavily. It got similar to Codemasters/Ubisoft games. What i mean by that is, the steering wheel doesnt exactly what the tyres are doing. You can easily feel and see that when counter steering for example. This is a huge issue.

I got GT Sport way after release and was so happy to finally play the next game in the series but i was so disappointed after a few seconds. I hoped that they will go back and fix this or to use "1:1 steering", what i mean by that is, if i push the stick to the right for like 10%, i want the steering to turn for 10% (doesnt have to be linear thats not my point) all the way up to 100% stick -> 100% steering. This is not the case in GT Sport.

But unfortunately, as i can see from the GT 7 Trailers, its still the same as in GT Sport. :(

As the ps5 have so much more power than the base ps4 I was still expecting more, but I am judging by the current trailer, let's see how it really looks on the final build to form a better opinion.

GT HD was never released, wasn´t it?
As a full title, no its wasn't.

We did, however, get the GTHD Concept demo, which is (and you need to be quite literal here) the only GT that ever released with a console (as it was released on the same day as the European release of the PS3).

The mad thing is that the leaderboard server was still up and running when I checked in August.

There will be no gap as we have seen in PS2 to PS3 or PS3 to PS4 era.

The evolutions will be above all, technical like RT

Not that it holds any significance, but I'll join the tinfoil hat gang. That brief bit with the Corvette might very well be from GT Sport.

Can you check those leaderboards only ingame or is there a website for it as well?

In-game only, and they reset every night. However, on the day I last tried it three of us were posting times.

From the video, I posted above...

...you could even still download the ghosts.

I wish I had this game but it's too expensive on ebay, I don't think it's worth paying 200€ for that

You can't possibly know that is true for a fact. You shouldn't state it as if it is. You don't know what PD are planning.

Sorry, I didn't watch the video in full. Anyway, that's crazy seeing how it predates all other PS3 games and yet is the only one having its servers still up and running. I don't know anything about servers and online networks but it probably costs less to only host a few leaderboard laptimes than to maintain a more flashed out multiplayer mode like all the other PS3 entries had. Perhaps the cost for it is so low that PDs accountants simply keep overlooking it when going through their figures. I just can't think of a reasonable explanation.

When I see Spiderman MM comparison, I don't see any gap apart wihtout technical evolutions.

But wait and see :)

I'm not sure my eyes could see improvements with the cars moving so quickly. GT Sport, for all its faults, looks very good imho. If they improve the frame rate and the number of cars in a race, for me that would be a better use of the power of the PS5 for me. If they can do it all, great. :)

I remember seeing a Sony content demo on TV's in a local department years ago with GT content on it, and it looked amazing. If they can get, 3-4 years down the line, the GT games to actually look like they did in that demo, I would be happy. Maybe I would need the 4k OLED TV to see that though. ;)

Well, this gives us seven months to get cars done. PD can get one done in about six months. Combined with the outsourcing, I wonder how many are yet to be added.

How does it work to port a car, say, the 2020 GR Yaris, from GTS to GT7?

I know exactly what you're saying here. If you haven't already; try using the PS controller with the motion sensing settings for steering instead. You'll notice the car wheels will then turn in time with the steering wheel (no delay etc) and controller movements will turn the wheels at the correct speed for your motions. It solved the issue for me, and is actually quite emersive once you get the hang of it. You just need a seat with arm rests, otherwise arms will get tired when suspended in front of you!...

Considering a large majority of the cars we saw in the trailer were from GTS, I’d imagine most if not all the work PD’s done to prepare cars for GTS is also preparing them for GT7.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

I cannot wait.
Oh yes you can. And you will.

It will be delayed for sure. I plan to buy ps5 within q121 anyway.
