I did my first quick race last night with the new Sophy at Deep Forest. I was in a 4C road car, just having come out of a 550 cup race and I totally crushed the new AI. Was not competitive at all. I did see better race craft but the issue was my tuned 4C just destroyed the cars the Sophies were driving.

Is the deal with racing Sophy just to run around in stock road cars? I thought it was meant to adapt to what you were running to be competitive..

Prior to that I completed the weekly missions(or what ever it is called). I like that and it gave a good payout - not that I need the money. It gave two 100,000 cr tickets for competing and a wheel ticket for completing it which gave another 500,000. So that was 700k + decent payouts from the races as well. Not bad for once a week and I had fun driving a variety of stuff with an in-cockpit view that I don't usually do. Now, I'm thinking perhaps I should ask for VR for Christmas....

Sophie cannot run a tune without separate training so you will always win that easily unless a stock car is used.

Apparently Sophy needs months of training for every variable it’s given, and therefore does not run tuned cars.

Let’s say you give Sophy a stock R34 Skyline GT-R to drive around Nordschleife. When it has learned the track you then put sport suspension on the car. It’s like giving it a completely different car basically. Then add tyre wear, different weather conditions, etc etc. I bet it will be years, if not decades before it can replace the normal AI, if that’s even the plan to begin with.

"How about fixing all the crap" (proceeds to mention specifically 2 things related to one mode, ignoring the massive influx of community requested fixes and additions added to the rest of the game).

Ok mate. Sort your ego out first. More to the game than Sport Mode.
I wish I could like this more than once. It's tiring having these Sport Mode enthusiasts crap on the game because they didn't get what they wanted in what is clearly a single-player focused update.

Bit of an oddball question but do you need a PS Plus account to access the Paddocks? I have a PS plus but my friend doesn't so he can't do Sport mode but can he at least access the Paddocks?

It doesn't take months , It probably takes a few hours at most per car variation . Might take a few days to map ONE car out to all the tracks and difficulty . It's AI pathing not rocket science.

I’d say it’s as tiring as when people complain that no single player content is added. People have different things they would like to be improved. Get over it.

it is obvious sport mode enthusiast and esport sweat have zero respect for what makes gran turismo gran turismo, just begging for BoP, gt3 cars, boring real world race tracks and penalty system that can never be perfect. we need a gt sport 2 or something to isolate these people and we can go back to a gran turismo that is focus number one single player, ever since they add online in gran turismo on ps3 single player is suffering, peak suffering was gt sport release, but spec ii is our favourite sushi chef Kazunori-san realising to focus on single player, now he see the true gt fans like it, let us hope it stays like this, i am liking this new and improve direction for gran turismo 7, enough with the esports ****

Agreed spot on... Single player deserves love not just Sport mode

Except I wasn’t complaining. I actually want more single player content. But I can understand different people want different things and was just pointing that out.

Im loving dancing with Sophy Ive been sticking with new Porsche GT3 to give myself a better chance. Its so much more dynamic racing now while playing solo, the challenge is just about right if you make a mistake it is pounced upon / getting a win is so satisfying. Looking forward to more tracks with Sophy in the future, this has breathed life into GT7 im addicted again done over a thousand miles since the update lol

The American Clubman Cup 700 at High Speed Ring now has a Tesla 3 and a Wicked Fabrication GT 51 appear in its AI car list. I also saw the new 190E in the European challenge at the Nurb (the one in the current weekly challenges). Seems they updated the list of car the AI can use for some of the events. I don't know if these cars replaced existing AI choices or if they've been added to the list but it'll still be interesting to see what other cars appear in the other events from now on.

Most of the sweat in this update probably went towards Sophy.
Great update, the LFA is sublime (as expected). Now all PD need to do is re-map the sound for the Carrera GT and I'll be a happy man
Sorry, but it will never be a true even firing V10, so it will never sound like the LFA. Then it doesn't rev as high either, which is key for the right harmonics. You can get a Gallardo V10 to sound like an LFA but never a Carrera GT.

It's kind of a rabbit-hole that we tend to go down on this forum. :P
Indeed.

On a more serious note, though, I wonder if it has ever crossed peoples minds that those who “complain” (me included) does it because they’re massive fans of the franchise and has been for a long time, and that they (we) are frustrated about the lost potential rather than just being negative for the sake of being negative.
