Dunno about y'all but that snow track looks cool. Looks like it has a night racing feature for it. Can't wait to race it at night in VR
For some reason I hadn't even thought about VR. Now I'm excited to try the new track first thing tomorrow!

How is that "reserving judgment" going?

Quick race only. No career, no custom race. I'm personally really disappointed with this, but who knows, maybe in the future...
Great point but this will scratch my itch for now. I hope that it continues to expand!

I wouldn't be surprised if that becomes a PS5-Pro feature, whenever it debuts.

Two things here :

  • 10/10 Championships, so no new championship with 2.0, saddly.
  • 87/500 Cars, 500? Wait..

We are at 481 cars in total currently, up to 488 if we count the 7 new cars added tomorrow. So two possible solutions, or it's just a sample / WIP, or they already have more cars ready for the next updates. A 12 cars update for Christmas incoming (or divided into several lots)?

i doubt i'm in the minority.. disappointment will grow throughout the week as customers realise they've been gamed, again! BUT, I did say I will reserve judgment until we get the update... as you say, you never know - they may have given us multiple new ways to earn easier money so that the majority of the GT community isn't forced into grinding 3 tracks to make worthwhile credits - that would provide some redemption. Fingers crossed
you got to be joking, this is like the worst major update ever, no new useful traks, just an oddball snow track for your handful of rally cars, sophy AI that isn't used in any of your career races and a new paddock where you can take photos of your avatar with a new slow shutter speed!!?!?! Wow, what a wonderful addition/s to a racing game!!! I am not surprised by this "miss", just feel completely vindicated in my pre-reveal scepticism!
Comments like these are exactly why I refuse to be a dev in the gaming industry. Dealing with demanding and entitled customers like Mr. 69 over here, no thanks.

Looks more like random numbers.. Only 10 podiums after completing all the menu books, 6 bonus menus and 10 championships?

Tbh, I don't understand the want for a career mode. How would it differ from Championships? I would think your progess through the game IS the career mode. I played GTS, I dont remember there being a big difference.
Structure, for one.

How many cars currently exist in the game that fundamentally cannot be used without altering their PP? Quite a few. Proper career structure (think GT3, 4 and 5) could remedy that.

The World Tour-esque mode doesn't have the best presentation (to me) because all you're doing is roaming around the mapped areas looking for the races you want (which at the moment is the same allotment that have persisted since the game launched). There's no real natural progression from one event series to the next; everything feels scattered, and in an attempt to make progression feel non-linear, it feels, dare I say, aimless.

PP/BoP shouldn't be a concern until you're in the GT-class events where that's literally make or break. I would love to prance around in the Living Legend, like I would in any number of cars in the previous games, except I can't — not without gimping its performance.

And the difference between this and GT Sport is exactly what I'm griping about: Vision GT events, for one. The Italian Festival events; there were options for open-wheelers. I've said this half a dozen times already, but for a game touting a "return to form", it seems to have forgotten what that form was...

Holy crap nice one! I'm considering rebuilding the engine as well, could you send me a PM with what parts you used and from where? I'm at roughly 280whp right now with a 19T and 550cc Bosch Injectors, but since it's burning oil like mad I need to open it up, so might as well push it :)
PM sent! Long one lol ;)

in other words we need censorship of negative nancies asap, its getting out of hand, there is 0 reason to complain about gt7 anymore with spec ii, and anyone saying bUt SpOrT mOdE should go back to gt sport or realise gran turismo will always be a single player series first and formost and stop trying to ruin gt with more esports, sport mode is the worst and brought in many esports people with no respect for the history of gran turismo so that why they complain here

absolute at this point gt must only focus on single player additions like spec ii and we get everything we ever wanted, let those esports sweats leave and gt will be back to good old days, so far this update is a throwback to good old days of single player gran turismo focus, I praise mr. chef Kazunori-san for delivering the goods

Very well put, I def agree.

Naw, that's simply not true. There is still tons of room for improvement with GT7. Let's not overreact in the opposite direction either.

I'm excited and appreciate the improvements made, while also looking towards future updates the address other long standing issues.

My bold prediction is we get dry tarmac versions of Lake Louise in the future. Would make sense from a “maximize their assets” pov. And it’s not nearly at a high enough latitude to be snowy year-round

Thanks @Famine or the article.

Very excited to experience Sophy in the game and how it plays (I enjoyed the previous "teaser" event).

Obviously, I wish Sophy could be dropped into Custom and replace the default "AI" in the other races vs. just Quick Race which I understand is the only place it will be. .....maybe misunderstanding that.

Also, the weekly challenges should help breathe new life into SP.

The cool thing is that now Sophy seems it's here to stay, it will be improved upon and hopefully also expanded into more facets of the game. Although realistically, I see why they are likely to keep it isolated from the rest of the game and it comes down to the fact that this game was made to support PS4. I know Sophy isn't included on PS4 but the rest of the game is and that is what could hold them back from expanding into Custom, current races / events, etc. I hope I'm wrong though.

Good stuff either way and enough to really get me playing a lot more than I currently do. Also jazzed about the new Challenger and '68 Charger. .....mostly because I own a 2010 Challenger R/T and '69 Charger myself. ....sentimental reasons. 🙂

I'm curious why they added the Master licenses. Not complaining, in fact I wouldn't mind giving the license center another visit.
Just seems like a curious addition
This was on my mind as well, like up until this point only the A License is required, so I wonder if they're restricting some races for higher grades now.

From the notes - “you can learn the basic of sports driving”. I guess they are acknowledging the Sports mode driving standards (lack of) and realise they need to train people a bit better.

I suspect some of the tests will involve clean overtaking.
