Hmm, maybe a translate mistake?
GT7 on the PS5 will have two display modes, one aimed at "the highest possible frame rate", with a ceiling of 60 fps, and one with an improved display where Ray Tracing mode is activated for improved lighting, shading and, above all, reflections on the bodies of vehicles

Formula E? Nascar?

:yuck:
PD versions of the new "NextGen" Cup cars built around the Camry, Skyline, and Accord would be pretty awesome tbh.

What's wrong? One mode 60fps without RT, second mode with RT in the home menu and replays in 30-40fps. Gameplay will be 60fps in both modes because it's not using RT.

I'm Greek and the translation is correct. Not sure how correct is the information though 😁

Well, they didn't pay attention when they were told not to post about it until after an embargo date which clearly hasn't passed yet, stands to reason they didn't properly pay attention to what the presentation said either.

Ah, Replays with RTX. Yes that make sense with up to 60fps.

Nice 😬👍🏻

Ups

Been nicely teased for awhile, but today the marketing boffins will have the hook set with some must buy bait for us all to clamp down on. Question is will it just be eye porn or have they something extra spicy and unanticipated to reel us in with? Could this be the day they announce the series debut of the fully customisable... robin reliant?

LOL it's a Reliant (manufacturer) Robin (Model) mate, ;) although 50% of the British Population also get it wrong !!
(Apologies for being a Pedant !) :embarrassed:

But it would be nice, to see more of our everyday rides back in the game.

Indeed, with several "themes". It might have been basic, but I still had fun with it.

Was really-bummed that the GT6 version required a mobile 'phone 'cause I can't use 'em (long story).

You can emulate an android phone on a computer. Also chromebooks runs Android apps and soon windows will be able to run Android apps natively.

My uncle had one we used to be shamed as kids when he came to visit our house, it was bright orange too (fancy a lift lads? no! lol)

I actually tried this as recently as late last year.

Installed several of the so-called best emu's for Mac on my laptop and all I have to show for it is a paltry amount of free partition space on my OS install. Spent weeks trying to track down the offending files, which I didn't find in the end, so now I just reboot more often to recoup the temp-file footprint.

Thanks for the suggestion man; it was a good 'un. I'm open to trying it again if GT7 "demands" it 'cause there's a chance the emu's would've been updated by then.

I think it's very likely they will continue to target 60fps even on PS4 but how steady it is no one can say. If they pare back effects and draw distance I think it's possible to keep it locked.

HOLY LIGHTING!!!!!!

I hope that there will be a special guest tonight, the Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500. I also hope that the new Le Mans cars will be added to the game later this year.

I liked the idea of putting the editor on another device. It's questionable whether or not a tablet or phone offered much advantage in terms of what could be done with a touch-screen interface over a controller, but it was funny whipping out my phone while travelling around Peru and messing around with a track layout to try upon my return.

That said, the means of transferring and sharing the tracks was, to put it mildly, convoluted AF. My main gripe, however, was the fact that when GT6's server were shut down, all those tracks simply vanish, existing only as a layout on the mobile device on which they were created, provided something doesn't happen to that device. They should have at least devised a way to transfer the tracks to the PS3 for offline availability before killing the service. There are two designs in particular that I would have liked to have recreated as FBX files for use in other sims, but it's going to be much harder to do when I can't drive them in GT6 anymore. It's worth noting the track creator in GT5 can still be used.

You do raise a good point, though, that putting the editor on another device creates a dependency that people might not be able to meet.

Can't see a reason for the game not to run at 1080p 60fps. Maybe use dynamic resolution for more taxing situations like rain races but other then that just make the game visually equivalent to Sport and should be good to go, unless the physics engine is more robust and the PS4 can't handle it as well as Sport.
Turn 10 had to reduce track detail to make rendering budget room for dynamic time of day. I believe GT7 will be more taxing than GTS and drops aren't out of question on PS4.

I am afraid the visual-difference between GTS and GT7 is to small.

For example dragon-trail in the first 4 seconds in state of play trailer looks exactly like in GTS.

I think GT7 is limited by the decision they made to offer it also for old PS4.

Sorry to bust your bubble, but all cars captured for GTS were originally done at 8K its downscaled graphics for PS4 not the other way around. The PS4 edition will be pared back no need to doubt the flagship title will be lacking on PS5 though.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but graphics are just one part of a videogame. I added these quotes to show what I mean. The downplay of next gen needs to stop. More CPU power means more power for physics, AI, simulation and all the rest of it.

The increased processing power means we will not only be able to offer silky-smooth gameplay for things like long-range ballistic mechanics with pinpoint accuracy, but we can actually take that gameplay up a level in complexity.
Processing power is always useful to allow developers to create more expansive worlds, more complex interactions, and to improve our ability to include more content into our games

There is a valid chance that they are going all out in the replay mode since that is a mode that there isn't any advantage to be gained for the PS5 players...
