In this article from Gamerant is states that it the polyphony Devs almost 300 days to make one car from scratch. So if the car was scanned sometime around 2020 but due to possibly COVID, the development of GT7 or even licencing rights for the sponsors on the car.
That 300hrs/days was a number based on 1 individual, divide the time needed for dev by the amount of staff at polyphunky.

They didn't necessarily spend 300 days designing and importing that minvivan for example.

At this point in Kaz's roadmap" you can blame covid, chip/console shortages etc. But as far as cars coming out, it seems like they spin him around and play pin the tail on the donkey-
Or just throws a dart..

Interesting. I'm surprised they didn't do a launch event with Honda for the new Civic Type R.

5 per month already makes me wonder about next month...
man, I can see you fiending for that new civic. I'd enjoy it on GT7 for sure.

For the new cars, I love this update, great choices for the game

The Alphard will be a fun car to throw around Tsukuba, and the 904 should be a fun choice for the le mans 700pp grinding race provided it doesn't cost my left leg to buy
I'm curious why you think the 904 will be a good choice for the LeMans race? I don't see it being remotely that competitive (or fast) and we're getting the street version (though back in the 60s there was little difference between street legal and race legal).

Power deficiency can certainly be a problem for that race, its a street car and worse off so than the Alfa TZ possibly. Big fan of 904 here.

Take a look at this news post from Jul 2020

It's not quite the same car appearing in the update this week from the look of it the car were getting seems to be 2019 model according the data leaks.

I know but it's basically the same car, isn't it?

A modern SUV/Camper Van has real potential to be a meme track weapon. Other than the high CG, it's dynamics should be up there with current saloons & hatchbacks. Looking forward to see what aero mods there are.

Go's without saying the DTM car and 959 are great additions. Again, interested to see what, if any, aero mods there are for the 959. There were a few competition versions of the car.

Nope, rear wings were significantly different.

1 - the pic & livery there is the 2018 Spec RS5 DTM.

2 - here’s the 2020 Spec car same livery but ⬇️

Hope this clears up confusion.

Where? I can't spot any differences, not only on the wing, but on the whole car, they really look the same.View attachment 1243046View attachment 1243047
Yes, this is the car / year I believe we’re getting the 2019 spec machine. For some reason WRT used a 2018 RS5 to show off its 2020 livery. Probably why people are getting confused.

i think the one in the photo is just a different aero-pack, other teams used the same spec as the 2019 car in some races tho

It’s the same car, only the difference is the aero device on the swan neck, which is called the “HYLO” or do you mean the 2018 car? Which is completely different to the class 1 spec 2019 car.

The HYLO (High yaw lift off) is a new part designed by Audi Sport for the rear wing support pillars of DTM race cars. It is aimed at increasing safety during accidents. Thanks to the new part and its increased surface area, the aerodynamic forces of lift are reduced during accidents wherein the car has spun and is moving sideways through the air. At the same time, the speed at which these types of accidents occur is reduced. The HYLO was seen for further testing during the official DTM test days at the Nürburgring, when it was fitted to the Audi RS 5 DTM test car, which was running with Mike Rockenfeller’s Twin Busch livery design.

HYLO started development after Pietro Fittipaldi’s crash in 2019 Brands Hatch practice. Which can be found on YouTube.

No i meant the HYLO, i know the 2018 car was a totally different machine, but if the HYLO was not used in any race 2020 replicas will be perfect too.

1. GR Corolla
2. GT-One
3. Soarer
4. Vitz RS Turbo
5. Lexus LFA
All these Toyotas could've been a worthy addition to the game. But they had to add a damn minivan... FFS. Keeping us slaves with the drip feed.
Maybe, but 959 and Audi RS5 were also highly requested car, it's ridiculous to blame them for only one car (especially a cool one)

There's something that caught my attention in Kaz's Twitter post.

Note that his writings were not translated in full. The translated japanese kanji refer to the Japanese spring, the sakura (cherry blossom) period.

Well, is it random information, a mere congratulation to the Japanese people, or is there in fact a thinly-veiled hint? In last month's post, the translated kanji speak of a "big" or "grand" update.

Some guys, like myself, understood that this could be a thinly-veiled hint at the addition of Grand Valley. Anyway, being a veiled hint or not, the fact is that Grand Valley was added.

Well, in view of that, assuming the veracity of a thinly-veiled hint, would it be possible to say that Kaz was referring to the addition of a Japanese circuit? Motegi? Sugo? Or some original hosted in Japan?

So far, nobody knows. But, for me, if there is a japanese circuit in this new update, I say that Kaz is dropping veiled hints in Japanese language, based on the last two updates.

I don’t think there’s any hints of a new track, just stating it is indeed Cherry Blossom season in Japan right now.

If we get tracks, I bet it’s the 2 Nurburgring layouts that was found.

The cars are in the arrangement of a cherry blossom.
Don't overthink it.

30th is most likely, but since I'm out at an event on 28th/29th I wouldn't rule those out. For some reason the PD team always manages to zero in on my calendar and put the updates out on the days I'd find it most difficult to write the article...
PD every time they see your schedule relative to their content updates:

Agreed. I love the 904 (and when I saw one immediately considered it one of the most beautiful cars I've ever seen) but it was built to compete in a world of 2.0 liter lightweight sports cars. It's not winning WTC700 races lol.

So we’re getting the beautiful Audi RS 5 Turbo DTM ‘19 in the update, which is the first modern DTM in GT7, but does anyone know of the licensing agreements or any chance that we could see these older models?

We have a Gr.2 DTM machine, the classic Alfa that sits in Gr.4, but these would be perfect for Gr.3
I believe it is possible through an aggressive BoP. But this cars from the 2000, 2001 and 2002 seasons would be more suitable to be added in Gr.3, whose specs would average 1,100kg and 450-570 hp.

With reference to the Sachsenring track (with its layout since 2001), the DTM made 1:21.221 in 2002 with the Opel Astra DTM. The GT3 record is from the year 2017 with laptime 1:18.603, done by Mercedes-AMG GT3.

PD already has sketches of these three cars since Gran Turismo 4.
