Mazda Mazda3 - 28,000-35,000 Cr. (based on the price of the 2023 JDM XL Package AWD version, the most-powerful JDM version, an older version is likely what we'll get based on the sunroof; will be higher if it's the US market turbo/AWD automatic version as that is $35,000)
Toyota Alphard - 50,000-80,000 Cr. (highly variable due to the variances in models and prices)
Audi A5 DTM - 800,000-1,000,000 Cr. (based on its near-twins, the 2016 GT500s going for 800,000 Cr., and likely inflation due to the Audi being 3 years newer)
Porsche 904 - 2,000,000-2,500,000 Cr. (low end if 4-cylinder, high end if 6-cylinder, more if 8-cylinder)
Porsche 959 - 2,200,000-2,600,000 Cr. (low end if Komfort, high end if Sport, double if either the very-rare S or 1992/1993)

I went with the prices in the Philippines as we have the Sienna instead of the Alphard, so mileage may vary. Prices are lower in Japan, topping out about 7.6 million yen (US$57,000).
That is in fact a real problem, and ever since GT Sport, certain cars have been lacking in livery variants. Recreating liveries as the only option to get those livery variants back, or to fill the gap with those liveries not included in the game doesn't sound too good at all, and it's a really cheap move to just have one default livery per race car.
That's especially true for the Gr. 2 category, where if you don't have a lot of default liveries in the color selection, it makes the category feel so limited and lifeless, and plus it promotes excessive grinding (having to buy multiple of the same car and having to recreate the livery can be quite a hassle).
Lest we forget, GT7 had some controversial game design choices such as the limited-time dealerships (Used and Hagerty), and the fact that all the cars in the game are still not implemented as rental cars in the Arcade Modes.
I mean, some of the Gr. 3 cars have extra livery variations, the most notable being the Lexus RC F GT3 and Mercedes-AMG GT3, both having liveries based on IMSA and Blancpain, respectively, but that's just one extra livery at best. While we have the livery editor to create our own custom liveries, I'd still like something similar to the Project CARS series where you get a ton of default liveries in the car's default color selection, and it does make sense after all as most of the race cars' names were all simplified for livery support.
If they can add multiple default livery variations for the Mazda RX-Vision GT3 and Mazda Roadster NR-A post-launch, they can do it to a number of other race cars too.

It could still come down to something simple like licensing. If it's Rast's car, you might expect the other Audi Sport Team Rosberg livery, but its not necessarily the case that they'd be able to reproduce the Abt Sportsline, WRT or Phoenix liveries.

What are you on about? You don’t need multiple cars to make different liveries for them. And people who excel in doing replicas will make them. Your complaint just doesn't make sense.
You are praising PCars for having a handful of liveries for you to choose from all the while GT offers you hundreds, if not thousands of designs, per car. Replicas, original creations and everything in between.
Some of them are even replicas of PCars designs.
And I won't go into cars missing in arcade mode or what not bacause this has nothing to do with cars introduced to the game having multiple liveries or not.

So you're fine with having one default livery on a race car's color selection and just leaving it up to players to replicate them in the livery editor instead of Polyphony adding these liveries as part of the car's color selection? That definitely doesn't make a whole lot of sense at all.
Well very happy to see the Porsche 959. That's a car I have long had a dream about having appear in Gran Turismo so now I can finally recreate an old Mega Drive favourite game of mine for some races, that game being Test Drive II The Duel which had the Diablo, 959, F40 racing against each other.
I know GT7 are different format from that game but will bring me some new life to the custom races and of course excuse to make liveries!

Yes, crafting a complex and yet easy to use livery editor all the while you release a ton of liveries for each car, both sabotaging said livery editor and the creative community who engages with your game. Yes, this makes a lot of sense.
I seriously hope they include all livery variations of the car from the 2019 season, as that's something seriously lacking in most race cars in the game. I mean, some Gr. 3 cars have extra livery variations in their color selection (and to an extent, the Mazda Atenza Gr. 4 and Roadster NR-A), but every other race car in the game (new and existing) needs more livery variations.
For this update, they should also add all the liveries to all the 2016 GT500's default color selection while they're at it.
Spoiler alert: the Audi RS 5 Turbo DTM, based on the 2019 season, actually has eight liveries, such as:
It is worth noting that variation liveries are essentially on par with liveries the player can create in the editor (with some special features not accessible to them). You can tell this by zooming in those cars during a replay - the texture quality are on par with player-created liveries. Hence why they use GT number boxes.
(A bug causing variation liveries not to appear properly in roulette drawings also would have also told you this, but it's fixed now - however, there can still be cases where the game fails to load custom liveries during a race or replay, in which variation liveries can also get affected.)

Exactly. I recently picked up the Makinen Lancer but sadly the rather swish rear wing doesn't provide any downforce for some reason..... so I swap it for a custom one, but that's black not red like the rest of the car.... so I want to paint it but that means painting the whole car and losing the racing decals.
The workaround is to cover the wing in decals, using the colour picker to replicate the body colour, but that's only viable for replicating standard colours.
With the exception of Porsche & VGT, PD doesn't seem to follow up on the cars they release, my fear the Audi RS5 DTM might be just another one-off, like the Honda RA272 1965 or the Honda SF19 Super Formula.
I don't think it would hurt sometimes release two to three cars of the same group or category in a update now and then. We had some of the (JGTC) added, but no follow up on the likes of the Honda Mobil 1 NSX '99, Nissan 300ZX-GTS GT '97.
As you can see from the image above, you're soon going to see the Gran Turismo name plastered all over a new race car. For many fans, this is a sure sign that a car might be coming to a GT game at some point in the future -- and it's certainly something blowing up on social media -- but we're going
The estimated prices from the Alpahard Executive Lounge are about $120,000AUD. That’s about $83,000USD.

I guess the price will slot between the Crown ‘13(57,000 Cr.) and/or Tundra ‘19(62,000 Cr.) and Supra ‘19(70,000 Cr.).

Considering PD/Sony is a Japanese (read, Asian) company, it's a bit like complaining the Forza series is too American-focused. I'd expect nothing less from a European/British developer/publisher with "over-representation" of models from the east side of the Atlantic.
Anyway, back to the update, the car list looks rather solid, if potentially expensive. It's looking likely that we'll get new menu books rather than a new track this time, but we won't know that for certain until the update actually drops.
Drive club was euro centric and had a great European focused car list. They were indeed European developers . They had the best euro line up of any car game .

I loved their selection of cars (and track locations as well), the whole game had such a great and unique vibe to it, really sad that they weren’t given the chance to make a sequel to it
Imagine VR version of Driveclub but for PS5 and PSVR2... The whole "flat version" of a game would be possible for VR there. Too bad they killed it.
Going back to topic:
I was thinking what else could be there for this update, and I think we could get some decent events in career mode.
PD Likes to add events somewhat connected with new content. Remember Toyota HyperCar? We got our first Group 1 events with it. Remember Suzuki VGT? We got first Vision Gran Turismo events with it. Suzuki Escudo? We did get "Neo classic race car competition" and with Maseratti Merak we god Historic Sport Car Challenge.
Now we are getting Audi RS5 DTM which definitely will be Group 2 car we can get our first group 2 events. We could get additional Historic Sport Cars events thanks to Porsche 959... And... Maybe... Porsche 904 GTS could give us Legendary Race Cars events?
Also it would be funny if Alphard would get some events, also Mazda 3 could bring us new "entry level" events for hatchbacks.
Just saying this could bring us a lot of events to do and additional Menu Books. That will be nice.
A year later, I still haven't bought GT7. At this point, I just want an arcade mode with all tracks and cars available or at least unlockable in a reasonable timeframe. I don't want to buy GT7 and wait months for a car to appear in the dealership. I'll wait as long as necessary for a change in the game economy and if there is no change, it's time to move on for me as a long time fan of GT.

Anyone else worried about the price of the 959? The F40 was 2.5 million and they made 1300 of those. They made less than 300 porsche 959. Remember the mclaren f1 is probably so expensive cos they only made about 100 of them.
