“The steering algorithm, which interprets the controller’s stick or directional input buttons, has been adjusted and “improved”.”

This is going to be interesting. Since GT Sport the controller steering inputs have been severely smoothened and softened, and it’s made drifting and countersteering substantially harder to do with precision when not using a wheel. The input algorithm in 7 at launch was also so bad that some cars (in my case the C3 Corvette) with maximum input from the controller couldn’t steer enough in-game to make it around T1 at Willow Springs at race speed, forcing you to go slower for the game to allow more steering angle. This got fixed/improved around 2-3 months in and it was better than GTS, but even with maximum sensitivity it’s still not as precise as it was on the PS3 games.

I’m hoping it further improves precision over smoothing, it’ll be really bad if the changes revert it to the way it was at launch or worse.

Photo Scapes

To celebrate the spring season in the Northern Hemisphere, a special feature of “Cherry Blossom” photo scape locations have been added, including a cafe and coffee shop.
Heck.... yea!!!!!!

Said non of us.

Aerodynamics

Changes have been made to how aerodynamic effects impact cars, with special attention to open-wheeled formula cars.

I wonder if this will decrease the effects of dirty-air. Probably not, as it sounds like the new aero will effect the car you're in and not the one behind, but one can hope.

I hope they made it quicker to match better the wheel user. Daily Sf19 suzuka was a pain in the… with the new bop settings, controller had defenetly an disadvantage.

I really hope the suspension and tire model changes FINALLY fix the glitched grip levels on certain cars like the sambabus and the beetle. Heck even the Veyron on stock tires just starts to lose straight line grip when it reaches max speed, i.e. when its suspension drops to its lowest level. That shouldn't happen. Fingers crossed.

I was playing Gran Turismo 4 today and I really noticed just how precise the controller steering was in comparison to GT7, especially when you give a car a proper setup.

They really do need to tone the smoothing down, it’s become almost unbearably sedative.

Just a thought,

dun dun dun....
Oh you lot, now, come on where are the faithful and positive people?

Is it possible that changes to the suspension or feedback of the tyres from the game's physics dare I say, it might improve things rather than nerf the handling?

Polyphony Digital has been on a roll recently...
Keep rollin', rollin', rollin', rollin' :)

I'm hoping they update the menu screens in 2d mode/cinematic VR to eye tracking compatible, having to point head is annoying to read text. Think that might be Sonys task rather than PD though.

What is this positivity you speak about?
I'm usually not too bothered about physics as long as still drivable on the pad which I'm assuming it will be. Though not a fan of how FFs currently have to be driven to go quickly in them so if that changes that'd be nice

Will the 120hz support bring any noticeable differences to the PSVR2 at all?
I could very well be wrong here, but the way it is worded in the update details it sounds like 120Hz is directly tied to VRR functionality. PSVR2 is capable of 120Hz but not VRR based on what I’ve seen of its specs. It sounds like only those with screens/monitors that have VRR capabilities will benefit from this.

For **** sake I just wish they would just give us a decent amount of single player events!!! This drip feed of content is infuriating.
What are you talking about? They added 4 new races. FOUR. WOW.

Good job PD. Really nice job.

I really don't understand what has prevented them to actually create a half decent single player game since 2010. For real.

Depends, if the reason for VR2 being locked to 60FPS was that the game wasn't designed for it, then a 90 or 120FPS VR mode is viable in an update. This very likely isn't the reason though.

As much as I hate the rear grip being broken, I don't want them to sacrifice the lively front end to fix it. Nor do I want them to over-stabilize the car under braking. I love trailbraking in this game more than any other.

Also the PP adjustments are surely targeting the C9 and other faster cars you could grind Sardegna with :grumpy:

We got that one hour NurbGP Gr.1 race in GT Sport. A 2019 Blancpain GT3, at NurbGP, was an hour long. A few other seasons, the NurbGP race were a few hours and more. We’ll see.
