Pretty amazing update so far, but my biggest disappointment so far is that Polyphony still made the Audi RS 5 Turbo DTM have one default livery only and didn't add all the liveries it raced in from the 2019 DTM season in the color selection.

Hope they would add them in the next update though, as well as all the liveries from the 2016 Super GT season for the Honda NSX CONCEPT-GT, Lexus RC F GT500 and Nissan GT-R NISMO GT500.

a couple early notes -

had to turn the settings on the G29 way up - I was at 2/2 and moved it to 5/5 to get the same level of force. Not sure what that means.

PP remained unchanged on 81/82 cars I’ve tuned. No fix on the 574 pp 586hp cappuccino swap, or the others. The only one effected was my Veyron, which went from 699 to 691. I believe that’s the only car in that group with an installled ultra high rpm turbo. The MP4/4 maybe also changed PP, not sure on that.

They didn’t make the nurg race high paying because they care more about the income from microtransactions than satisfying the game’s potential. That was clear last summer, now they’re just being open about it.

Haven’t spent much time driving but the alphard time trial is a lot of fun, that car is surprising

Slamming it, wheels, big brakes and to the 'Ring!

Close enough... 😅😅

Took a test shot comparing the 60hz and 120hz modes. 120hz mode clearly drops some LOD and resolution and feels really good. I can't get a framerate readout on my display so I'm interested to see professional analysis soon but I really don't think there's any interpolation tomfoolery going on. The drops to image quality are significant enough to warrant easily doubling the framerate.

Loving the new Audi
Wow, the LOD drop on the bonnet vents is quite something.

But why bother? That's the beauty of the livery editor and shared liveries. You can find every single one of the liveries you've asked for on there (OK, maybe not the RS5 ones yet, but they'll happen)

From this video you can easily tell that this is clearly fake 120fps, they just adapted the VR interpolation tech to flat screen :

I really don't get how people could think that suddenly their PS5 could be twice powerful with no hardware upgrade

The resolution was dropped, this isn’t fake 120 hz. Reprojection from 60 to 120 takes basically no hardware power at all, as far as I know. They wouldn’t have decreased the resolution for no reason. This is likely just a video artefact, or, if Kireth uses VEGAS to edit, they didn’t select disable resample.

I really dont know who have made these decision for the sf19, but are you doing well, something wrong with you?
I dont understand it. Sf19 in tuned form was excellent to drive and such a joy, but this right now is absolut wrong what you did.
I am really pissed right now 🤬🤬🤬🤬

Yeah cause I'm the only one to do so.

Also before the update they lasted 3 laps.
To me that sounds like a good update, in the GTWS race a few weeks ago people could stay out with inters on a dry track for almost 10 laps and gain huge time on those who pitted for the right tyres. If they overheat and wear quicker that is a good thing for realism.

Not really interested in 120hz mode, but does VRR work on 60hz?

Yes i can check this from Q95A game menu when i get back home - but im interested already.

I dont know first you set bop for sf19 aero to 1400 frontwing and max2000 rear, now it is 1250 front and minimum1600 rearwing.

Is this some sort a result of a sake drinkgame or how you decide???

Driving over rumble strips is a lot more noticeable now.
Unfortunately it looks like they also did something that affected the overall steering feel and it feels a lot lighter at least on a Logitech DD. That transition when you add more angle and go into understeer feels more stark now.
The Veyron and Supra in stock form seem to have been fixed, the Veyron in particular was unbearable in that slipstream event.
The thing is like to see the most is host migration like they had in GT5…

I mean, there was no way the game would run with the same visuals doubling the frame rate. Reducing resolution and LOD seem like honest compromises to play at 120.

I didn't see anyone commenting here but RT is completely disabled on this new mode (including in replays), not that I think anyone expected the game to run at 120 with RT enabled.

Post about visual options by an resetera user:

Ok, I’ve just tried the game optimiser on the C1 and here’s what I’ve found. This all applies to a VRR 4K display only I guess.

Prioritise Frame Rate and 120fps on: lowest resolution, mostly 120fps, dips to around 90 with heavy rain and a tightly packed field. No ray-tracing.

Prioritise Frame Rate and 120fps off: pretty much locked 4k60. No ray-tracing. Equivalent to pre patch setting.

Prioritise Resolution, Ray Tracing and 120fps on: pretty much locked 4k60. Ray- tracing in garage and other non-racing scenes. Equivalent to pre patch setting.

Prioritise Resolution, Ray Tracing and 120fps off: unlocked frame rate, bounces from 60 to 120 and averages around 90. Sub 4K but higher resolution than prioritise frame rate and 120fps on. Ray- tracing in garage and other non-racing scenes.

It’s the latter two options that appear to be the wrong way round and that’s what threw me off. In other words, the 120fps toggle functions correctly when prioritise frame rate is selected and the wrong way round when prioritise resolution and ray tracing is selected.

Edit: I’ve just gone back in and the toggle seems to be working correctly now, so god knows what’s going on.

It may be placebo or not remembering, but it feels like they improved the haptic feedback on the DualSense. Took the 458 GT3 out for some laps and the gear shifts have a very satisfying ~chunk~.

It also feels like cars turn a bit easier than before, and the back sliding out was a bit more telegraphed. Could again be placebo
I definitely noticed a handling change. I’ve been using the RX vision in Gr3 chilli races all week and got to the point where I was happy with the tune and would win Suzuka today after getting 2nd yesterday, but first attempt today I came last and 2nd attempt 10th.

I’m on RH tyres that seem to now take a couple of laps to warm up compared to half a lap before. There is a clear lack of grip for the whole race in fact, so much so that I put TCS on to 1 to try to get the power down and stop the back stepping out on every corner.

I was running 99% power before with max rear downforce and as much front as I could get away with which wasn’t much. I now seem to be able to add more rear downforce now and almost max front downforce as well and still stay on the 730pp limit but the car is far less well behaved on turn in and exiting the corner.

Is it a disaster or a successful improvement? Who cares, I’ll adapt. The physics have noticeably changed for me, just as they did in one of the early updates and it will take a period of adjustment to get used to it, but soon it will be the norm and I’ll keep driving my way through the game in my own way.
