It also happened in Project CARS 2, so I think Polyphony Digital can do it too... especially considering that they were willing to put in the game '97 and '98 Honda Civic or '71 and '73 BMW 3.0 CSL as separate cars :)
That's what I was hoping they'd do too.

Welp

Audi R8: not a car I'm personally invested in, but always a positive to see the car list fleshed out further.

Urus: there are many performance SUVs and trucks that are near and dear to us car guy's hearts. Urus ain't ****in one of them.

GT One: cool car, but I take 2 issues with it.

A - it's pure nostalgia bait. Like the escudo, I fully expect this car to never be used in any sort of meaningful way besides photo mode and becoming somebody's grinding machine, and

B - The fact that its being shoved into GR2 just highlights how bad PD's classes, or lack thereof, are. I think anyone with a basic understanding of Motorsports understands that you can't fit 40 different types of racecars into 4 classes, it doesn't work, and this is another prime example of that. I don't think there's another racing game with a worse Classification system, and the GT One is a shining example of that. It gets even worse when you realize that PD took the time to make sure that the same civic 1 year apart is separated, yet one race class has 40 years and 10 classes of racecars. The logic boggles me

And then no track...probably 3-4 snoozefest events and "extra menus" which I'll die on this hill - extra menus aren't ****ing content.

At this point I'd much rather GT focus on adding tracks, events and proper car Classification. This would serve the game much better than nostalgia bait misplaced racecars and performance crossovers.

Because FH5 is a terrible game where the vehicles don't even matter? That games physics are so completely boring and wooden that whatever car you choose doesn't matter in the slightest. Any "new vehicles" they add are just more glitter on the compost pile.

I know I sound mad, and that's because I am so completely disappointed by the tragic downfall of FM/FH. Legendary racing game titles that are now reduced to an underwhelming afterthought.
This same thing applies to GT, and it's arguably worse in GT. So many cars in GT feel flat and dead

At least in FM/FH they can be properly enjoyed and showcased - in GT they are stuck behind the limits of "GT logic" which is often far removed from the real world of cars and racing

The new WTC900 event could be a chance to have a 1-hour race which - with the help of a sped-up day-and-night circle - would feel like a 24-hour race, as already seen at Spa.

Not gonna get my hopes up too much for this though.
If PD would just add a handful of 1 hour races in various types, I would re-download this game in a heartbeat

Tell me what game, racing or others, give monthly updates free?
Who cares... if they are free and you never use any of the updates, what purpsoe does it serve me (yes, I realize many of you do like the new cars, this is about me :D )? I would pay for new tracks. I haven't used any of the update cars in forever. And no, Lake Loiuse does not count as a new track, it is useless.

The fact that you think this lets me know I no longer need to trust your opinion.

I don't even know where to begin because what you say makes that little sense. FH5 doesn't have anything close to the options for displaying your cars like GT7 does (and that's completely ignoring VR showroom). And that also goes without mentioning that FH5 still looks like the game it is, while GT7 can be easily confused with reality in many cases (look at the myriad IG posts where people post GT7 shots and nobody knows its a game).

The only way GT7 cars could feel "flat and dead" is if you're on controller with all the assists on. If you can't tell the difference between all these cars any their personalities, then that's on you, because that isn't the way it actually is.

Even with GTs shortcoming's every car has unique driving behavior and character. FH5 is akin to pushing a wooden toy car with a picture of a real car painted on it around your living room floor.

It would be interesting if we gotten 10 laps of le mans since all other WTC 900 are 10 laps races
but that wont be a 1 hour race :/

Much like every single update, GT gives us some stuff (this time some pretty good stuff) and the goal-posts always move because people seemingly just need to complain about getting free content when it's not absolutely perfect.
Looking for that "PREACH" emoji.

I'd avoided this thread for a while because every month it's the same. PD announces more free content, a ton of folks complain about it not being perfect (should have had this car/feature/track/etc.) along with a chorus of "I'd buy this/that car for a dollar" (#RoboCop) and a new thread gets started about the next month's update.

For those complaining about free updates . . . Capcom/Dragon's Dogma II has a game/business model for you.

Ok, I'll go back to my hut.

Anyone hoping for good pay outs for WTC900 Lemans race, I'm truly with you...it's time to break these chains of five grindy races and unveil ourself to something new...

Just to clarify here, you're saying that GT7, the game that doesn't utilize most of its car list well, doesn't even try to class its cars, and locks it's viewer mode behind a $500 peripheral, is "better at displaying its cars" than FH5, the game that makes sure everything has proper use, allows you to tune anything in almost any way, like irl, and has a mode where you can literally walk around the car, open the hood, doors etc? Lol

FH5 is a far better display of cars and car culture than GT7 and anyone who says different is either living under a rock or lying to themselves.

The instagram posts where GT looks like irl are from its scapes mode. GT's race photos are very easily noticeable without any editing, and that's because GT's environments look pretty awful. The insanely detailed car models set on plastic looking tracks are often jarring as hell.

I play GT on a wheel with everything but ABS off and will be more than happy to tell you that GT feels like shiz lol. It feels flat and dead. The road feels texturless. FH isn't any better, but at least FH5 has bumps and doesn't have gobs of baked in understeer. Also I've found more cars I've experienced irl handle more like irl in FH than in GT.

But this isn't a discussion about Forza, it's about GT's update.

It won't be. 8 million max, but I'd say 4-6 mil.
But there you may want to triple the cost if you want all three in your collection...(ref. Article above)
As we’re expecting the car to be available (for quite a high sum) in the Legends Cars dealer, it’s not likely that, unlike other race cars available in GT7, you’ll be able to select the #1 and #2 cars — both of which retired during the race — as alternative liveries.

I mean we also have BMW M6 GT3 Enduro and Sprint Models, which IMO could have been avoided if GT Sport had GT Auto.

Is PDI adding "real dirt" (melted rubber debris) to GT7? It might just be marketing aesthetics, but I hope PDI finally adds "real dirt" to the game.

I'd be willing to pay for updates if it meant the longstanding issues with the game could be fixed. Developers definitely deserve to be compensated for their work.

That being said, I'm glad that the car additions seem to be please most folks. As usual, I'll be monitoring the update for improvements to FFB, physics and/or VR improvements.

IMO the game’s over two years old as of March 2024. They’re likely well into starting development on GT8 at this point, and the game isn’t going to significantly change beyond a few more cars and maybe another track or two before then.

To me, GT7 just is what it is now. And expecting a significant jump in the amount of content beyond this point is setting yourself up for disappointment.

Honestly I’d rather them focus on preparing content for the next game right now and getting GT8 as a PS5 exclusive so the previous gen that used mid-line PC components by 2013 standards isn’t holding the graphics or physics back any more. And they can release the game sooner rather than updating this old cross-gen one for years longer.
Incan guarantee that we won't see gt8 for a few more years yet...

Toyota GT-One (TS020) ’99

In the early 1990s, Toyota set out to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans with its Group C TS010 racing car. Several unsuccessful years followed, but the company would return for the 1998 season with the Toyota GT-One (TS020). During its Group C racing days, Toyota developed its race cars almost exclusively within Japan. However, they would revamp their plans and entrust this project to the group in charge of their World Rally Championship activities, German-based TTE (Toyota Team Europe), to claim overall victory once again in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

good !

but ? Its carbon-composite monocoque body was developed for aerodynamic performance, and it featured the same twin-turbocharged 3.6 L V8 developed during the company’s Group C days.

Agreed. The main thing that bugs me about extra menus is, they most of the time cost millions to complete, yet they give a few events, that you probably won't even make 100k on. They should be at minimum adding events, that would cover the cost, of the extra menu. There's several that I haven't bought the cars for, they may not interest me, or they're over priced, in my eyes.

Not that credits have been an issue. If I remember correct, haven't played since November or December, I'm around 50 million, but again, that's inpart due to, I don't need to have every car.

This game needs a major jolt to gets some life back into it. The updates have been mediocre for a while, with the ocassional fan favored car, as if PD is throwing a bone.

Sorry for drifting off into a rant.

A haven’t bothered to complete most of them for that very reason. Spend £10m cr to win 500k cr on the wheel of disappointment, no thanks

At least with the actual numbered menus, you get races....although we haven't had much in terms of those.

The "extra menus" are literally BUY CAR as content.

I agree it needs more, it was advertised as a live service game and they are doing the bear minimum if that. "It's free tho" isn't a valid excuse
