Is grinding credits on the same 3 races STILL the first thought you guys have when seeing cars such as that, GT One, MP4/4 etc. ?????

I'm really worried for the future of this franchise.
GT fans born after 1993 can't enjoy the game... all they know is grind events, Sport Mode, 700PP Nurburgring lobby, graphics comparisons, Gr.3 and whine.

Well... this thread has certainly taken on a different vibe over the past day... 😅
I'm honestly very surprised we got to post so many posts about Escorts and Mondeos as we did without being told to stop by @Famine :D

Today we can get carry on as usual with the Ford Fiesta.
(And ironically the advert below it is from Ford..

Those are unforfunately the type of players GT7 is specifically aimed towards. PD might add the most incredible set of events EVER and they would still complete them on a Tomahawk, right before complaining that "the payout is too low, i can't grind money on this!!!"

I'm a GT fan born before 1993 and I am not a fan of how poultry the payouts are. I've done my fair share of grind in this series and in comparison to the likes of GT6 (which at least had a login bonus) and GT Sport (which took far less time, even if you had to wade through the BMB slog before you could afford the cars to just do 3 short laps around Le Mans and that was it), GT7's just feels mindlessly unnecessary and nowhere near as rewarding. There's a great game underneath a mound of really baffling design decisions (even in recent series additions like Sport Mode, which doesn't feel all that different from GT Sport sans a fresh look).

The broadsweeping generalizations are unnecessary and ironically, come off just as out of touch as people accuse Kazunouri Yamauchi of being.

One of GT7 premisses is to collect cars. To collect cars you need credits. Faster car = faster races = more credits = buying more cars

We need a reason to use different cars. GT5/6 did it right with seasonal events and with the handicap bonus for using a car below the PP limit.

In GT7 there's zero incentive to try that. People think that Le Mans 700 and Tokyo 600 are the best events in the game not just because of the credits, but because you can pretty much try every car with all kinds of setups.

I don't blame new players who rush for the Tomahawk just to be done with the World Circuit events. Tokyo, Sardegna and Le Mans are fun races, especially if you try to do them "as intended", but the rest are, honestly, extremely boring.

We did get some good fun races in recent Weekly Challenges and I wish they were permanent, but it's hard to convice anyone to do X event for fun when Y event is literally better in every possible way.

Tokyo 600 "as intended" is a hard, fun and competitive race, paying you 825k for ~27 minutes. Road Atlanta 900 is also a hard and fun race, but paying only 320k for 30 minutes. Why would I do RA instead of Tokyo? Doesn't even make sense that a Gr.1 event pays less than a road car event, especially considering that the minimum you need for a Gr.1 car is 1 million.

Am I the only one who wants this in the update? (UK people of a certain age will know....)

Ah, yes, thank you for bringing some jolity to my day, I do remember this car, he stopped some chav from stealing helium balloons once. I mostly remember the amazingly choreographed ending song, featuring the most ecstatically happy people in Birmingham.

("High quality" = 480p with combing artifacts and I think also the wrong pixel aspect ratio)
