They did the same with the CLK LM which has the 1997 CLK GTR rims or the intermediate/rain tyres of 1998 which were the same as the 1997.

As with the Porsche, it just happened to be on the car they scanned. In the Merc's case it never even raced with these rims.
There's a centerlock wheel in the game that looks just like that, although with a very small lip. I think there from OZ. I immediately installed those when I bought that car.

Are these not the rims in game though?

Yes, but the car on those 2 pictures is the 1997 CLK GTR, not the 1998 CLK LM in the game.
By the way, CLK-GTR could be added to the game to compose Gr.3. Some BOP service could be performed for this.

I say this because PD used this logic for McLaren F1.

The same could be adopted for F40 and F50; Porsche 911 GT '96 and 911 GT1 '98.

That way, we would have the fantastic quartet of the 90s - McLaren, Mercedes, Ferrari and Porsche -, composing the Gr. 2 and Gr. 3.

They actually didn't apply that logic, as the McLaren F1 GTR '97 was slower than the CLK GTR '97, and that car is already in Gr. 2.

If they add these cars, they should just properly split the groups up, the '97 GT1 cars in their own group and the '98 GT1 cars in their own group. The CLK LM and McLaren F1 GTR racing with the 2016 GT500 cars just doesn't fit at all, no matter how they BoP it. They are just completely different cars.

Sadly Vector and Venturi (not the Fromula E brand) are defunct, so no possible license for it :guilty:
As others have mentioned, companies absolutely still exist that hold the rights to these brands. As a matter of fact Venturi is coming to Forza at some point, so it’s definitely not totally dead.

I understand your point.

PD added the McLaren F1 '95 to the Gr. 3 and the McLaren F1 '97 to the Gr. 2. At this rate, it could add the Porsche 911 GT1 '96 and Ferrari F40 GTLM to Gr.3, while adding the Porsche GT1 '98 and Ferrari F50 GTR (Prototype) to Gr.2. I say considering the seasons that cars ran mostly together. There were a few exceptions, but overall that was it.

As for the CLK-GTR and CLK-LM (which is in GT7) it could make fictional adaptations via BOP, exactly to leave a spiritual cohesion of marks of the 90's in Gr.2 and Gr.3 groups; although CLK-GTR has raced with the 911 GT1 '97 and F1 GTR '97 .

I say this because PD uses a lot of "poetic license" in its category adaptations, abstaining from technical purisms, that I agree, so it wouldn't be a problem if Kaz did the same with the FIA GT and BPR Global cars 90s series.

I’m just hoping for some kind of new event(s) in the game instead of grinding the same ones over and over again. Selling cars would be nice but it’s not really a priority for me right now at least.

Agreed. New events should be the #1 priority for PD. Especially at the tracks with very few events (i.e. Monza).

At minimum, they should add worthwhile payouts to the existing events outside of the 4 grinding meta events. I’d be very happy if all of the 10 lap Gr3/800 races paid 2/3 of the 15 lap Sardegna payout.

Also, I feel like the lack of single-make events is a glaring hole in the current career mode.

So.. no debate about the cars coming.
(Other than the wheels on the spider)

Safe to assume no track, so maybe a few new events, or menu books, (hope there's a video to re watch for tickets again like 1.17🤣😇)

Tomica scape.. ha!(because community is begging for scapes)

Im curious of the unmentioned items we know SHOULD be added as previous updates-
1. New engine?

2. New chassis options for the existing engines
(Bonanza boys have more engines than cars!)

3.LOBBY stability. This is a hope of course, even if they had to add a cross play selection option, if its the ps5/4 connections causing the lag.
(Even though we think it will be trash till sport servers shut down.)

I know its lacking content, and people still want more single player activities, but damn whats the point of an online only game if you cant even play online?!

The community would be happy if they fix the s*** they already put out instead if trying to add more content.

The kick feature, and lobby settings adjustment was a great start, but useless if you cant bear the lobby lag etc.

Im trying to be optimistic!

Side note:
if you jeed to buy 10 vehicles for the trophy, isnt the go cart cheapest? Not sure if aqua is cheaper, never bought one..

Usually additional changes are numbered on the post update log, and some like new engines for swap are not listed

Yeah it is, it’s subjective if they seek to be out of place for someone or not. You do know what the term subjective means, ain’t you?

I do. Do you?

19 real world GT3 racing cars and one made up Cabriolet (!) racing amongst them. Which one doesn’t fit in? Objectively.

Those rims are from the 1998 Suzuka 1000km FP and Quali

Gr.3 in Gran Turismo is not GT3 in real life. It’s made up of many different racing classes that all happen to be around the same performance. GT3 just happens to be one of the classes that fits the rules for inclusion in Gr.3.

Besides GT3, Gr.3 includes cars from FIA GT1, GT2, GTE, BPR GT1, JGTC GT500, JAF GT300, and others, including concept cars. Nothings really out of place because there isn’t really a normal anyways.

The rims that we have in game have been used even on dry conditions
Like I said, it never raced with these rims and as you mentioned, these pictures are from practice or qualifying, practice being more likely for testing something different due to the heat.

In the race they were using the standard ones they used everywhere else.

and I still find it stupid that they did this, just as I did with Forza Motorsport 7 and Project CARS 3.
