12. Settings (Controller Settings)
 - The strength of the trigger effect can now be adjusted from the Quick Menu displayed during a race, or from [Settings] > [Controller Settings] in the Pause Menu. 'Trigger effect 1P (Accelerator)' and 'Trigger effect 1P (Brakes)' can both be set to 'Off,' 'Weak' or 'Strong;'

Presumably this relates to a PS5 controller as they are not available on PS4. If so, they should amend the notes.

The physics update is huge
I don't know yet if I like or not
Some of my custom gr4 cars, before the update was barely driveable, at least not to the limit. Now, they are capable to go fast and near the limit
Lexus lc500 and Alfa 8c are now more than 2secs faster in test circuit (trial mountain) but not only the fr cars changed, even the ff civic is now almost 1sec faster.
I noticed now, the pp works. Before, some cars with high pp was slower because I can't push it to the limit, now i must low the pp to match with others and now works

Not tried the game since the update, but this sounds like some meta cars will now no longer be king and we might have a more fairer field or cars

But hey, they killed one avenue of getting fast money
Surprisingly they didn’t actually. Or at least they didn’t try hard enough because the Tomahawk 600PP glitch is still possible with alternate tunes.

Even then it’s possible they didn’t take any action at all and the old tunes not working is just a consequence of the physics update.

Yeah but coincidence that it was after I made a thread mentioning it.

Some cars still don’t have a startup sound though. I think it’s just a case of not having been ready when the game launched, so now they are adding them as post-release fixes instead.

The problem here is @Samus already made the distinction of who the Cap. attracts & you're proving his point; it's car guys.

People at car shows are very much a large grouping of dedicated car nuts. Take the car out in the real world away from the gatherings, & most folks will probably continue to give glances at a pretty red Ferrari over anything else.
The group @Samus was originally referring to was "players". I'd argue that the vast majority of GT players are definitely automotive fans and aficionados of some capacity, even if its just a little bit. And frankly the young and new car fans that might not yet know the Cappuccino even exists will probably be really amused and intrigued by it. My point still stands that even people who have zero interest or knowledge in cars have already seen Ferraris roaming around - the first one looked fast and loud but so did all the rest. They've probably never seen a Cappuccino and will likely have some questions, simply because it's weird and unexpected. Nobody expects a go kart to drive down an American city street but everybody expects to see a red or green supercar at some point.

...

In other news, I think it's pretty clear which 24hr endurance races we'll eventually get since we now have three tracks to host them. Obviously any track could host it but Le Mans, Spa, and Daytona are the ones that will get people excited.

I haven’t tried the new physics model for RWD cars yet but I had a feeling something wasn’t right. Each RWD car I owned needed heavy adjustments to make them driveable (thank you Praiano!)

What I don’t understand is why PD only adds a few events at a time. I haven’t completed everything in GT7 yet & have plenty of events/missions/CE to complete but this is a problem that has been carried over from Sport. I just don’t understand the logic or the limitations to do that.

For the added content, we got a dupe track & one dupe car. This game is huge, plenty of cars/tracks, but putting the pit lane on the back straight on a pre-existing track is pointless.

You forgot posters who complain about complaining posters that complain about posters.
Until it ends up being about forgetting posters who complain about complaining posters who complain about posters complaining about posters who complain about posters complaining about posters and so on…

Boringly unimaginative car choices. Give us something interesting like the Caterham, Arial Atom, Dallara Straddle or even an F4 open wheeler. Or better yet a bloody Nascar for the ovals! Sheesh.I

Would love to see something like Historic Spa too. I see people hoping for old track like Apricot hill but GT series could really do with some new experiences.
Why are they refusing to fix the lobbies?! The game has been out for damn near two months now and they haven't bothered to fix anything regarding it. The main issue I have is the lag. It's not a issue on my end either because I don't see lag when I go to sport mode and I don't experience lag on other games. Lack of options for lobbies is also super disappointing. It's like all they care about online wise is sport mode now. This is a huge complaint and they haven't nothing about it so far.
Fixing the lobbies would surely take months so they may be working on it right now but not saying anything yet. However they may also have no intention as these lobbies were clearly intended to be this way when you consider its framework is GTSport. Bizarre.
It's a shame there is so much negatively on this thread/forum regards GT7.

But lets be honest here...

GT7 is essentially GTS with a few new cars and tracks. Infact if that was it, and everything else was the same it would be disappointing yes, but at least the game would work!

What we have instead is a unfinished mess of a game which should have been delayed and not released in state it is in.

If this was the first GT game you ever played then I can understand why you might be satisfied. But for the majority of people here it isn't.

So it is very understandable that people are mad, and rightly so when PD have released a game which is inferior to its predecessors in many, many ways!

PD have no excuse for this, none!
This is what makes the lobbies a strange design choice m surely it was more work to change than import a better system?

What changes has the update done to the controller steering?I see what it says but what does it actually do to the steering?
You can now set sensitivity up to 10. You can now change trigger settings, ps5 only ofc, mid race, ie without having to go to the options menu.

Other than that, physics have changed so perhaps it’s easier to control oversteer.

Hahaha, this forum never disappoints.
Is it an update? Yes.
Does it improve stuff and add stuff? Yes.
Do posters complain? Yes.
Ah, good, I am on the good old GTPlanet forum again ;)
You buy a new car, it arrives with 1 door missing

You question it and say, "excuse me, I paid for a car with 5 doors"

Dealer says nothing.

You drive off, annoyed but you spent all this money, you might aswell drive it, you spent this money!

2 months have passed! You are frustrated you spent a ton of cash, and you still only have 4 doors. Its bloody cold outside! Finally the dealer calls you as he has an update.

He calls to say, he can give you 3 free air fresheners in the meantime, although one looks kinda similar to the one that came with the car.

You still have one door missing.

When you went to the dealership, did you see the car with 5 doors or did you just assume it was a 5 doors car?

I'm glad they added some cars but it seems like they were throwing to appease us. New race at Spa is cool but I was looking forward to the different track layouts. It seems like I should know better especially since Square Enix has been doing the same thing with Avengers. Anywho I can't wait to get like 5 Caps and race them against in some Copens, Beats and the old Honda in custom races 🤣

That is a terrible analogy. In fact, why analogise at all?

You heard rave reviews and previews about a car with 5 doors, but when you saw it arrive on the forecourt after waiting months for it, it was missing a door!
So you fell for the hype and reviews. Fair enough. We’ve all done that.
You need to do a better due diligence next time. I’d like to live in a world where we can take things at face value but that’s unfortunately not the case.

I hope the dealer delivers your missing door at some point.

The reviews and previews said the MP worked properly. They duped us all!

Not everyone wants the same from MP. Maybe it works properly for what they want. It’s just that you want more or something different.

Btw, I also want more from online lobbies. They’re serviceable but definitely not great or even on par with GTS.

How does the Carrera GT handle now?
I wanted to know too, so I took mine to the Nürburgring to find out.

Bear in mind that I am a VERY casual driver, and rarely race competitively. Additionally, I’m on controller which I think is harder to use than a wheel. And I may or may not have crashed a little.

I did two laps, both with ABS 1 and Sport Soft tires, all other settings were stock. The first lap without TCS was tricky. The car still likes to slide out, but I felt it was far more easily recoverable. The second lap with TCS 1 felt way more stable, but still easy to upset the car when not paying attention. You definitely need to remain focused to get the most out of this car, but it’s extremely fun to drive.

I think with a good tune and a decent driver, this car will be an absolute weapon online. Hopefully this can help you!

EDIT: I completely forgot my lap times.
TCS 0 — 7:25.132
TCS 1 — 7:14.908
