They might well be, but I'm not, and I don't think being new to the game has much to do with the observation of negativity in the "community". The choice of people that don't like something continuing to participating in it's community is what makes the community about as welcoming as a burning bag of dog vomit to those who actually are new to the game. Granted, this is a feature of internet discussion that's not unique to Gran Turismo.
The criticism for the patch, aside from the usual negative voices, is justified after all. PD promised new layouts and cars on its own. PD have set an expectation and just not met them. You can say what you want, but in the end there are not multiple layouts, there is only one layout and it is only a different pit lane. In principle, they did the same trick with the cars, because the BRZ was developed together with the GT86 and is not a new model. Developers aren't supposed to make promises they can't keep. Just look at 343 and their new roadmap. Pathetic.
I know exactly where you're coming from, but you're right in saying it's not unique to GT forums, or even gaming. It's just the modern era of complaining and entitlement. It's a disease that we all fall to at one point or another.
Asking developers to keep their promise isn't entitlement.

I tried the new controller physics and dang! Even hard to turn FF cars now turn very easy!

I tried the Superbird as well and it loses some less control too, I used to spin out with 5 TCS and ASM and heck, even strong countersteer assist AND some weaker tires on the front!! Now it's quite decent!

Yep, and also the horrendous lag!

It's got to the point now where believe PD have done it on purpose to steer people away from lobbies and on to sport mode.

Sport mode isn't for everyone though and all I want to do is create a private lobby so I can host weekly events with a close group of friends. Which I now can't do...

Something we have been doing on a weekly basis for years in GTS.
Exactly. Makes you wonder.

I am replying with a stupid analogy, for the original stupid "hot take". There is only so many times you can respond to people who say "oh, they are moaning again", with a serious answer.
I think you took my post much too seriously. But it's quite a nice meme that developed ;)

Why is PD ignoring the MP lobby situation? They literally set the bar as high is it is on their own with GT Sport. How did they think this was not going to be a major sticking point for a large portion of their player base?

My thoughts exactly. If this was their first go at online racing, I could understand a lack of features and accessibility. But this is not their first go. Their last title was dedicated to racing online with others. Then they release this junk that lacks basic features that games like Forza Motorsport 2 had upon release, in 2007. Not being able to change any lobby settings while in the lobby is inexcusable. Then add on the fact that most of the time the lobby freezes post race so you don’t get your credits for the race or chance to save the replay. PD and Kaz are still riding the popularity of the old GT games from the PS1/PS2 era. And idiots like me keep buying them. If the next Forza Motorsport wasn’t so far off this game would be dead to me already.

Where is the "slideshow" option at? There is not an option in scapes, nor in demo settings via settings menu. No other auto-demo options I am aware of. Wonder if a bug because I can't find it anywhere.

Why are the specs on the BRZ GT300 so ... wrong? The real car races at 1235 kg and somewhat less than 450hp.

Because GT7 BOP is different from Super GT BOP?
They can BOP the car however they like in BOP races, I don't think it's crazy to suggest a car that actually exists in reality should have the specs it does in reality in base form.

If the Viper Group 3 can go from 678hp down to 513 or whatever, this can certainly have accurate real hp and get BOPed up to whatever it needs to compete with the others.

I am seeing people wonder if they are holding back the lobbies to push people to Sport… but I also think they want users to go to the ‘lobbies’ located in the circuits panel, for each course. The load times for those are nothing compared to simply entering the Lobby area.

And they probably either don’t care about people’s leagues or do want to force them into the World Series modes.

I can’t say they want to push people to the daily races. The fact that this update doesn’t correct the Tomahawk glitch means that every daily race will be: A) car you own and may have set up to your liking (everything resets, can’t even change brake balance)… and then B/C will be one of RCZ/Atenza/Merc on various tracks.

I just can’t understand how they thought advertising this as an update was at all a good idea. I thought “under promise, over deliver” was universal, guess not. And the fact the Twitter refers to it as a “free” update has me a little worried going forward. Maybe we’ll have to rent apricot hill for a future daily race

And it’ll be the ‘HOT’ car as per the patch notes. Wonder if we’ll now have a weekly hot car, and I wonder what that’ll actually mean?
I assumed by that they meant they'd insert it at the top for a certain timeframe, like how the cars for the menu you were working on would appear at the top in addition to the usual rotation... guess we'll have to wait and see.

Do you understand the purpose of BoP? If they make it have accurate horsepower and weight, it would either be significantly faster or slower than the cars it's racing against. The entire point of BoP is to adjust weight and horsepower so that the cars will be competetive with each other.

I'm not talking about the BOP horsepower and weight, I'm talking about the hp and weight of the car as you buy it from Brand Central. All the group 3 cars have massively different horsepower and weight figures in stock form and most aren't remotely close to balanced against each other in stock form. That's what the BOP setting is for, to equalize the inherently unequal specs of the real cars, since they're from 30 years of racing history.

Again, it's a real car, it should come with the easy to find specs of the real car. This is like putting a Boxster into the game that weighs as much as an MX-5 and has as much horsepower as a 911, it's just clearly wrong.

I must be a really stupid, or lucky guy, depends from the point of view I guess lol.

I've played them all and for me this is the best Gran Turismo of them all.

Only real shortcoming for me is the lobbies and network performance. Everything else feels stellar to me, and considering how much content was added to Gtsport , I guess I'm in for a threat for many years to come.

Meanwhile everywhere I turn I see people whining no stop.

Feel sorry for them, really.

But can't really understand them.

I'm totally baffled by it. It is killing the organised online racing community!

Surely they can't be that ignorant?
What do they think kept GTS going so long?

It has to be deliberate, it's the only explanation for it...
You have my (solo player) sympathies. The lobby issues have been listed under known issues for so long that perhaps it's a bigger problem than you think?

I'm waiting for all the complaints and stuff when their favorite method of grinding will be fubarred.
Me included , I am wishing that they leave the WTC700 at La Sarthe alone...
Well, here my complaint and view of the new update...
Thanks to all of the boneheads that grossly exploited the PP on the T-hawk, PD has gone and corrected ALL the PP, I had legitimate tuned cars that were at 699 before the 1.13 update and when I awoke this afternoon all my cars were now about 30 PP higher and now I have to rework all my tuning setups to getting them legal for the WTC700.
The physics fix also buggered my cars, I have to readjust my suspension settings I had to tame the oversteer condition, now I have severe understeer I need to fix.
There was no mention of fuel map changes but I did one race and found that I now can do 5 laps at LaSarthe at FM1 whereas before I could only nearly make 3 at same FM1, same car readjusted for the new PP.
Now I have a question, if PD can update the car lots on the fly, what is stopping them from implementing small issue fixes this way?
One more question, what is the difference in the Spa 24 over the other Spa layout?

Can I ask what your source is that the '21 BRZ GT300 has under 450 hp? I spent the last 10 minutes on Google and I cannot find a single source that has information on that specific car's hp. Then I tried a more general search for how much horsepower GT300 cars have, and everything I read said they all have very close to 500, which would line up with the specs in game.

Is roulette system still broken ?
Well, in the past few days I've received $30k from a 2 star ticket which was the lowest prize on the ticket. And got a ZR1 Corvette on a 3 star ticket that included 3 stacks of coins and a carbon driveshaft. Maybe I was just lucky because I've also received a lot of $5k rewards. :D
