Gran Turismo 7's Next Update is Coming September 28, Adds Three New Cars

You know I felt like it had been forever since an update. I guess it's been longer than usual?

..and the wait was not really worth it :indiff:

Friend of mine just bought a FL5 Type-R. And I know someone who's got a similar looking EG. Would've liked to see a regular EG. And a huge list of other cars.

Doom & Gloom ✔️

So... the cars are ok ... a little disapointment... No LFA no 190 Evo2 or GT One...
I hope for a nice track with some or many nice new events with good payments...
At least all these cars doesn't cost much...
Don't expect the new track yet , because we didn't had that Suzuka update yet

also for some reason people keep expecting 20 free cars because Forza? PD doesn't care about that

I was honestly bummed with the car choices, but when I saw the picture of the EG6 my mood changed entirely! Not because I’m a huge fan of that car but my first car in real life was a 92 civic so the sentimental value of owning something close in the game makes me happy! I’ll have a field day with custom liveries and just taking way too many scapes lol. The new FL5 and Mazda are cool additions too, still haven’t made the swapped Mazda 3 monster…

What are you on, man?

Just wait till you find out no track or no well-paying races will be the case this update.

It's just gonna be menu books with crappy payment races.

My friend my expectations about PD updates are small...
They intersting only for online events (GTWorld Series Championships etc etc)
its a very nice base as a game but not evolving one...
We must admit this...

Good update for the Civic fans. The FF cars hold no appeal for me. To each, his own.
The hottest take of all. Everybody must be disappointed at all times.
Every car in this update will be in Brand Central, even the Himedic/Corolla.

Has that happened yet in any update?
Hate to have to correct @Famine, but the May 2022 update was Brand Central-only, with the 2021 Toyota GR010 Hybrid, Suzuki VGT and Roadster Shop Rampage.

I do hope for more events in this update, if nothing new is added then I'd struggle to find a good reason to keep playing. I can't even force myself to grind anymore.

I enjoyed the hell out of GT7 but with the new Forza around the corner I can't see myself playing it until sufficient content is added.

I feel pretty OK with this. It's nice to have another SEMA car, plus the newest Civic Type R, as well as a much more modern Gr.4 car for Mazda. As far as new events go, I bet we'll get another round of an event involving FF Japanese cars, and hopefully another Super Formula round at a venue related to either SF or F1, such as Brands Hatch or the Nurburgring GP course. Another thing to consider would be that we could get another WTC 700 round or two, since that's mostly for Gr.4 cars. (Perhaps we could get another one-hour race that offers 1m credits, like the WTC 800 race at Spa-Francorchamps?)

As for menus, we've already had an Extra Menu based on the broader "Type R" label, as well as one focused on the NSX, but not the Civic yet, so I could see there being an Extra Menu featuring the latest Civic Type R, as well as the modified one from SEMA. As for what the third Civic model could be, I'm not sure.

We also could get an Extra Menu that's not necessarily related to the latest cars, like we saw with the Shelby menu. I, for one, think a menu based on V12 Lamborghini models would be perfect. I'm also hoping for a McLaren-themed menu at some point, but I'm not sure how they could make one without featuring the iconic yet very expensive F1 road car. Maybe instead of the road car, they could have us buy one of the race-ready versions, instead. (And speaking of which, I do think the BMW-engined F1 GTR longtail should be moved to being under McLaren, just like how the Mercedes-Benz CLK-LM Race Car used to be under AMG.)

EDIT: With the GR Corolla and HiMedic also becoming more available soon, this could also play into what sort of Extra Menus we end up seeing in this update. The obvious one I could think of would be a "GR"-themed menu, featuring one of the GR Supra models, the GR Corolla, and perhaps either the GR Yaris or the GR 86.

These are actually three very nice cars that tick a lot of boxes. With that said, a new track is desperately needed, as are more engaging events & missions.

Unless we have a significant update before the year is out, I would say GT7 development has pretty much wrapped up. The bare minimum is being delivered in monthly DLC updates. Who's to say that's not adequate for the market, despite grumbles on here?

To get upto speed PD need a whole raft of new Le Mans Hypercars, SGT GT500's, GT3 models, and the latest supercars. I just don't see those being delivered in GT7 unless something extra ordinary is delivered in the coming months.

If you're not into JDM modded/race cars or a Civic then better luck next month, whatever the hell we want to drip feed y'all next month. Makes me missed the good old Prologue/GT5 where their output was higher, and would you look at Spec II Spec III thing it was an amazing idea alongside daily log-in bonus and car handicap bonus when you use slower cars to and win events with it.
Do you remember what the complaints were during the days of GT5?

They were along the lines of:
-Why are there so many standard cars?
-The standard cars look awful
-I would rather have less cars and all premiums instead
-The cars sound horrible
-I wish there was a livery editor
-I wish we had engine swaps
-I wish we could customize our car more
-The events are the same old format as the old Gran Turismo games

You could think of more, if you were there to witness them.

PD has addressed all of these to some degree.

But still...

At this point PD must have so many cars & tracks in their locker. Some will be ready to go, others at various stages of development, but close to competition. The only reason to hold back said content is marketing related. Keep trickling DLC out for GT7, but hold the great majority back for GT8.

That's fine when it comes to cars, you'll never satisfy everyone. But 8 months since the last track really is stretching fans patience. I'm assuming we will get at least one more track before the years out, but I really think the game needs two or three more. At that point it would be understandable to save the rest for GT8.

I mean, can't say these are cars that were high up on anyone's wishlists. Maybe the FL5? But i don't think it's that bad. Better than another ambulance that's for sure. I like the new Civic. Let's just hope for new events! (Which we surely won't get)

I was there and they solved all that but that doesn't mean they should take out what's the best part of GT5/GT6 later on which helps the single player experience and kept it from becoming a mindless grind fest.
Didn't say anything about I need 1000 standard cars back I just want more than bare minimum drip feeding they do with little in a way of improving single player experience in GT7 like they nailed that **** and flow of GT4 but they didn't yet manage to ruin Sunday Cup which now have restriction and you can't even use concept VISION GT cars for some ***** and giggles you know, having fun to fool around a bit which you can't at all on GT7.
"Road Car" restriction needs to go.
And it took them months just to put back the ability to sell cars.

I read the update and just had that little facepalm emoji in my mind... regardless of what any of us need or want, or what seems obvious to add given PD's focus on Gr.3 (but continually no new GT3 cars other than the Merc) - in the face of obvious pressure from Forza Motorsport, this is PD putting their best foot forwards?

Dunno how many times i have to say it - PD doesn't care about Forza

So I understand the desire for more events, but there are custom races now. We can literally make whatever type of race we want.

Custom races have weak points:

-Payouts are not as lucrative as they should be

-When making a custom grid, you can only pick cars you own, so if you wanted a one make race with custom tuned cars with different liveries, you'd have to own x number of the car.

- A limited number of custom races can be saved

But you can LITERALLY create your own VGT race, Sunday cup, 80s car race, FF, 4WD, Etc. You could technically make a championship too.

I do wish they would update this feature, because it's a great foundation, it just needs a little more.
