Pretty sure this is off-topic.... Nevertheless, how is cross-gen screwing up the lobby settings? You imply that the ps5 can't handle the lobby functionality that existed in GTS?

The fact that we can’t change tracks tells me the game has problems loading up two versions of the same track for the same lobby. I’m not sure if PS4/5 players are even able to play together in sport mode yet either.

Overall cross gen in GT7 is going exactly how I expected given my experience with other cross gen games. If they focused on PS5, then there is no doubt in my mind that the game would have mroe features and content right now.

Im here for the nostalgia, but as someone who thinks they should cut rally altogether my excitement is low.

I generally think the amount of cars is the smallest problem GT has right now and I’d welcome updates that focus on the fundamentals.

The AI needs a complete rework. I’m not taking just faster AI - a fundamentally new AI. How do a handful of Italian guys manage to make an AI that makes you feel like you’re driving an online race, but the industry leader can’t pull it off?

The performance is not acceptable on PS5 (don’t know about PS4)
Pop in, LOD switches right in your face. Frame rate drops and even slow down.
You name it. GT7 has it.

Don’t get me started in the current state of the online.

So of course I do welcome every piece of content, but I’d like to see acknowledgement of the problems and a road map for the fixes.

Well damn. Yeah, I think the performance is not talked about enough - mainly becasue so many other problems take center stage right now.
It also doesn´t help that Digital Foundry did a surprsiingly poor job covering this game and really missed most (if not all) the technical issues.

Here’s some of the things I wish and hope are included in this month’s update:

1. Physics changed to make MR gr3 cars drivable. I want to drive the Ferrari and I want the McLaren to be fun to drive again. Same goes for the 911.
2. Improvements on FFB.
3. Changes to the penalty system.
4. 20 car grids.
5. QoL improvements for lobbies and bug fixing.
6. More UI/HUD options and FOV.

If they can add new content, great. Especially if it’s single player content like the endurance races. New cars and tracks are welcome but not a priority for me.

Fingers crossed we get some of these. Some of them were due probably 2 months ago.

The problem is that you take that fact as evidence that the feature is not going to be included in the next update.

I met Monster Tajima in Colorado Springs for the fan event ahead of the last PPIHC to run partially on dirt (2011 I think it was). He was the friendliest guy you can imagine with child-like enthusiasm for the event and for the fans. I just remember him saying gleefully "my car is fastest car in Gran Turismo!" He will remain the only person to ever get up that mountain in under 10 minutes on (some) dirt. Really excited they are bringing back the Escudo to a Gran Turismo game.

The rallying aspect in this game is awful, l never bother myself with it. Stuff the Suzuki, it always has been a redundant car in these games and it looks to still be the case.

Anyway, it's understandable really because this game is so badly structured and retarded!

BMW: As mentioned, 2 iterations behind, but also the M4 Gr. 4 car is based on a fairly old platform.

2021 Nurb 24-hour race featured the BMW M6 platform as the SP9 "GT3" category and this year they moved to the M4. I'm just now (since game came out) trying to learn IRL racing leagues, so my comment could be way off track lol.

The Escudo will feel absolute trash on the dirt tracks on GT7. The slower "GrB" already feel terrible especially over jumps even after they attempted to fix it.

We wouldn't. We never know abouttracks or the rest of the update contents until they release a video and update notes the day of the patch. Sometimes they have released the video a little earlier, but not by much.

I would sacrifice everything else for now; the cars, yes even the Escudo, all the fixes they have planned, even a damn track like Pike’s Peak. If if if they enabled selling and I could get rid of some of the crap clogging up my garage.

I own all the cars in the game and have no problem finding one I want to drive. If this crap you speak of is 'clogging' your garage, delete it. Your garage defaults to latest car driven, so it's not like you have to scroll through 200 cars to find what you want. Select Manufacturer and your car will be at the top. GT7 doesn't hand out cars like candy as it did in GTS. Eventually you'll get your pennies on the dollar for these cars.

Exactly. It won't solve the majority of the problems, and it only works as a short term, limited solution for players to earn some extra Cr.

I wonder what will those players do, after they sell all their cars, and realise the remaining issues of the game. Better yet, they will likely sell a car that they might need sometime in the future for a certain event, or if in the future any of those cars gets a great engine swap available.
