Gran Turismo 7's Next Update is Coming This Week: Escudo Pikes Peak Returns

This whole numbered game thing discussion is a bit silly. All that really matters is what PD says will be in the game, whether the game delivers it, and whether that meets the players expectations.

Giving a game a free pass for its flaws because the next game has a different naming convention and therefore will be better is clearly not valid at all.

Seriously, I'm getting a bit demotivated too... we're being littered with some ridiculous boxes (VGT) or ancient carts that are somehow useless when they come into play as they are actually constructed (Pike Peak Escudo as a size B vehicle.. seriously? )

I could "vomit" in circles when I consider how massive the real problems are that need to be solved. But no, you see silhouettes of 3 completely useless cars and you should be happy? I would rather play the game in 640x480 which is then scaled up but in great condition as is.
And on the subject of cars... Hey guys, wake up. if PD really wants to bring good cars.. where is the current M4 GT3 and all the other great current vehicles? No The game is x years behind the current time and you really can't celebrate that anymore.

Oh yes, and everyone who is now saying: "Hey, you don't know what's coming in the update!" .. Hey, which one of you really expects real innovation from PD in the next few weeks?
I don't have high hopes!

Yeah me too, I honestly want to know how PD actually work and why they think these are good idea. They dropped the ball so hard.

You might not m8 but i do :)i hear from my top secret insider they have been working on a new physics engine for the "birds" they even called in David Attenborough to beta test the murmurations 🐤

I don't think Pikes Peak will appear. I do expect a new track, but not point-to-point Pikes Peak. Something they can use for e-sports seems more likely, though I would be glad to be wrong.
With all the datamining going, one would expect dataminers to find some strings about Pikes Peak already, if it is actually coming this month. Or this track can be not mentioned in the game at all until the update hits, who knows.
Suzuki and Pikes Peak scapes will most likely be everything PD have for this year's Pikes Peak run.

Possible new tracks could be either Road Atlanta or Watkins Glen (whichever comes first).

I think many people forget that every car has been build from the ground up since gt sport and to expect 1000 cars is not realistic, and lets not forget that many of cars of gt5 and gt6 was standard cars with ps2 graphics, Suzuki escudo was one of those, around 700 of 1200 cars was standard cars in gt6, they are going with quality over quanity,

Yeah, those would make sense. Well, Suzuki VGT Gr.3 wasn't in the datamining, even though we even knew it was coming. So, kinda just as predicted, those findings are not going to be 100% accurate, at least for cars. And soon we will find out if it's the same with tracks.

There is no need for them to all be rebuilt though. Premium models were good enough. I understand quality over quantity, but at a certain point you're nitpicking quality so much you're left severely lacking in quantity.

I guess I'm in the small minority that actually welcomes VGT cars as long as they're fun to drive. I don't like the Chaparral and the 2 fastest Tomahawks (the slower one is fine), but VGTs like the Suzuki just added, the Merc race version, Volkswagens, BMW, etc. are all pretty cool imo. I understand the dislike too though.

…. Probably has to do with licensing and exclusive agreements in regards to why some of the newer cars aren’t in this game (kinda like PD exclusivity with Pikes Peak).

But I’m going to choose to believe you’ve already taken this into account 🙄

I know I’m in the extreme minority on this one, but as an exclusive cockpit-view driver, I really appreciate the accurately detailed interiors.

But realistically, there’s no way PD will skimp on making the interiors of pretty much all these cars correct, as they’re no doubt getting this game ready for VR

However, PD didn’t even make a big deal about one of the most anticipated real world sports cars: the 2023 Z. Didn’t even make a big deal about the ZR1 and AMG GT R & Black Series.

Confirmed from my source
banjo-deliverance.gif

Pikes peak is incoming as Music Rally exclusive course with accompanying duelling banjo's as the track... the car will be the deuce coupe fully loaded with a ton of moonshine...

Calm down, salty friend. Its tradition now to announce the next Update with these silhouettes. Other changes are in patch notes.
Yes, and the previous car additions came along with great improvements right? Right??? Wait a minute...
Why would you expect those things to be teased in a silhouette?
Twitter offers technological solutions to include TEXT. Something like "And keep an eye out for a great change to the used car market.."
In case you haven't noticed, we don't know any other changes until the actual update hits. Unless you've been living under a rock.
In case you haven't noticed, none of the previous updates adressed any of the actual issues of the game.

Call me cynical, but to me this is just fan service, maybe to stem the flow of the negative criticism and players and fans leaving game. So what race is the Pikes Peak going to be eligible for, as it's clearly OP compared to the rest of the rally cars. Yet another pointless vehicle that can't be used in anything to appease the clamour for it. I honestly don't see the appeal in the Pikes Peak, apart from it's fast. Because it certainly doesn't fit into any existing category - similar to the Isle of Man Subaru.

I really hope PD doesn't butcher the Escudo into GR.B.

I really dislike it that they use a class system for the race cars and force them into a category. Because of that we don't get the real car stats than rather tweaked stats for the sake of BOP.

In my opinion it's completely against the spirit of the older Gran Turismo.

How cool it was to see how Rallye cars stacked up against a variety of touring and DTM cars.
How Le Man's GT cars would perform against some old school race cars and V8 Supercars.

Now they force everything into classes and kind of ruining it in my opinion. I mean a GTE car is faster than the GT3 cars. But PD thought 'for the sake of BOP, let's make it in to GR3 with GR3 performance'..

They limitate themselves pretty much with their class system and always have to work out which car they have to force in which class. Older DTM are suddenly Gr4, older GT cars are suddenly GR3 or Gr2. Super GT/JGTC cars are GR3 or GR2 cars aswell.
A real mess in my opinion. Leave them out of the classes, give them proper stats and than mixe some crazy grids like in GT1-GT4.

These content updates are following a monthly schedule. Not something they came up with overnight.

You got that wrong. All cars have their original performance. Only when you activate BoP for its designated class, it may be nerfed (or boosted).

You can still race all cars against each other in original spec. And actually, most events do not enforce BoP anyway.

And by the way, your statement that "GTE is faster than GT3" is not that clear cut. GTE has more aero, GT3 a little more power. Looking at qualifying times in Monza from 2021 from WEC and GT World Challenge Europe, the pole times were only 1 second apart. Anyway, GTE is dying, so there will only be GT3 soon.

As long as it's not a Hagerty or UCD exclusive car, that's fine.
Pretty sure it'll be thrown into the Legendary dealer, it's pre-2000 and a race car, so it doesn't match the current rule for Brand Central and as far as I recall, the only race car in the UCD is that race tuned Civic. They'll probably add it in to Hagerty's from day 1 for a period of time though like they did the Cappuccino in the UCD.

I would be surprised if it cost more than a couple of million, it's not that valuable a car in real life when compared to some of the classics in GT7. Think more Group C than McLaren F1 GTR.
