Watkins Glen sure is... a surprise. Definitely expected Pikes Peak. Still, new track!

I will say though, I really hope we get more races than what the menus provide. 9 per month is still incredibly slow. But considering they weren't mentioned along with other new additions, it's probably not happening.

Watkins Glen Raceway (not Speedway).

I just want to add that I am also excited. Now to avoid missing my braking point at the chicane...

It's nice to see a new track arriving in the game, that is a real plus!, i don't know the track, but it looks like it has alot of nice turns and elevation changes, seems cool!...i'm very curious about it!

But come on PD.. were the **** are we supposed to race that Escudo ???

Watkins Glen gets a big thumbs up from me, it's my favourite US track, I just wish they had included the non-inner loop layouts as well.

The three cars, well one is another addition to the Gr.3 roster based on a car we got last update and the other two are basically useless. What is the point of adding cars and tracks and then not bothering to theme the new Cafe Menu's around them?

I think FM6 was my first exposure to Watkins Glen. Good, fun track.

Although, a Classic remastered track would have hit a lot harder.

Apparently the short course is included (read that here earlier) but we will see for sure when the update hits.

Fisherman's Ranch or Colorado Springs... or basically the same places where you can drive the other Pikes Peak special car in the game, the Audi Sport Quattro S1😂

I'm not trying to be a dick. Honestly but the excuses i keep seeing from the community is backwards. My leagues frustration is because of the games glaring online issues. You have to understand why. Its preventing our league and online play from being what its supposed to be. The lobby issue isn' t minor. Its game breaking for many.
I understand the frustration even though I couldn't care less about the lobbies. i don't race in any leagues and never have. I just don't have the time for that. I barely have the time to play the game as it is.....

I agree it needs to be fixed. I don't know why whatever they had set up in GT Sport was not just carried over into GT7. All I was saying is if y'all wanted to race your league, you still have GT Sport to do so. No, it is not ideal but it is still better than nothing.

And again, since we do not have any patch notes yet, we do not even know if it will be fixed in 1.17. We should wait until then to worry about that. Why waste the energy on an unknown?

If they are are not fixed and/or mentioned in the patch notes once they are released, then have at it....

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Watkins Glen International Circuit Arrives in Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.17

Details about the next Gran Turismo 7 update have been revealed a bit early, and it brings confirmation of the first new track location in the game since launch: Watkins Glen International Circuit...
"Last and certainly least..." Hahaha - understandable. This is a good update and I'm happy that menu books are the least important to talk about.

Glad to see GT is adding brand new tracks. I thought they were going to ride the “original track” wave for a while.

The only catch 22 here is Watkins is comparable to Monza in terms of race craft

Really, you'd have preferred an old track over something fresh that had never been in GT? To each their own I guess, but this game launched with zero new tracks, the track list was getting very stale. Brand new tracks was the number 1 biggest thing it needed IMO.

The short course is, but the long and short course variants that don't use the inner loop are not.

This is the long course, actually called the GP Circuit with the inner loop...

..and this is it without the Inner Loop...

...the inner loop isn't the name of the short course, it's the name of the chicane on the back straight.

Thanks for the clarification, I've always heard it as the bus stop (even on IMSA broadcasts) hence why I thought inner loop was the short course! :)

Really.

I've played this track many times before, it isnt "new"

A brand new interpretation of a classic GT track is much more appealing. I can play real world tracks in any racing game
