Yeah that'd be pretty cool, I really hope this friggen 'Rot'sun can keep up... It feels like I'm going to burn off tires real quick with the setup I'm running now, (Trying my hand at the pitch-and-catch method) maybe I'll soften it up a bit and use the stiffer setup as a qualification lap, then switch to the softer setup for getting some decent tire wear outta the car.

Edit: got down to a 2:04.307 tonight in race trim, and can get sub 2:03's in qualy trim If I tune a bit more... Can't wait for tomorrow!

Practice room closed in club.

Great lap @Ares85. I will be happy if I am as fast tomorrow as I was during the practice session.

I ran in the 2:04.5 range on Tuesday night with my fastest being a 2:03.5. Needs a bit of a tune up though! And my driving could improve a bit but seems like I'm at least competitive with the corvettes...

We're on for the Ring tonight! We'll see who we get, I know some of our guys are out for technical problems and what not. See you guys tonight!

I'll join when I feel well enough. Don't save a space for me though, it's hit or miss with my health. GTP ID: sproesser
PSN ID: sproesser
Car: Camaro SS
Car Number:
1?

Awesome! The only thing is that I want to reserve the number 1 for monthly champions, as the points reset after each month.

uh oh... Looks like I'll be in some hot water.... that vette is pretty quick compared to the 370, guess my strategy will have to pick me up a bit

I will be there unless something unforeseen occurs. Schedule indicates room will open at 11:30 EST, qual race starts at 12:00 EST.

Qualifying (12min) for the qualifying race is a race? No opportunity to run solo to set qualifying times?

@RobbiefromBC I found the Nissan a little slower than the other cars on this high speed track (my tune was only so-so). The car may perform better at a handling track like Monaco, where we will be next week.

Yes the vette is fast here but my car decision came down to which car I could make handle & be balanced with my limited tuning ability.

The qualifying session will be solo runs. You'll have 12 minutes to set a time. I'd like to start qualifying at 11:45, but something usually goes wrong or someone is late or something, so we're a bit lenient on that.

Just pulled off a 2:03.2xx in race trim... I think I've done enough tuning, now to focus on driving a good line 👍

Edit: 2:01.8xx

@flip55 Is there any reason we don't all qualify solo at the same time? I'm kind of new to online racing and not real comfortable trying to pass someone.

@Ares85 what happened? You were very fast and leading the race for such a long time.

For about 10 minutes before the end of the race, when I was about 24 seconds advantage on KG, on the last corner after passing the entrance to the pit lane, too quickly walked out of the corner and ran a spin and hit a barrier and damaged the rear suspension had to ride the whole lap, to repair the damage in to pit lane, from rage, I thought I'll eat my controller.

@Ares85 Sorry to hear that. Early in the race I got my left side tires off the track just past the chicane & before the last turn and spun out. Soon after that our cat started interrupting me and I had to let it out. :banghead:

yes that awful when things do not go our way, next time leave the cat outside before the race, at least you will not be bothered:lol:

We've always run with the group qualifying option on, so most of our guys are used to it. You don't have to leave the pits right when the session starts, you can wait in the pits for a bit, and then go. I usually wait a couple of seconds before going, myself. I'm always surprised when people don't space themselves out more in qualifying.

I had fun racing last night. Sorry I couldn't finish. I was too worn out, but it was still worth it, I really enjoyed the first race and prep. See you guys on the track again soon.

Points update after last night!!!

Not sure what everyone's times are at Monaco, but I got down to a 1:36.3xx today. I've noticed the rear tires will need to be preserved in this race due to hard acceleration out of tight turns... Qualifying will play a HUGE part in this race. That, and staying off the walls...
