A variety of “Edge Effects”, the chemical reactions between the real world and the virtual world for which the Gran Turismo series is famous, are also planned for GT6. Exciting collaborations between various automotive manufacturers and collaborations with brands crossing different industries will be revealed gradually across the next six months.

Ha! very curious about how Sony will focus a GT movie, if they take the documental route have there some background behind to develop an entertaining script.

I see that it didn't take a long time to use this as an excuse to troll the game. Not totally unexpected.

If they based the movie on rivals teams and have a 1 v 1 element in it, protagonist vs antagonist it could be pretty cool. Think Days of Thunder with Tom Cruise.

a modern setting, with modern cars and not in NASCAR could be pretty cool. I'd love to see the P1 and LaFerrari featured for the final race. Also would be great to see the McLaren F1.

I could totally see this being a good movie. Looking forward to more details.

I just hope they don't go Fast and Furious with it and have tons of crashes and guns and stupid ****. Focus on the racing, the skill and endurance it takes and the team and human dynamic. Nothing stopping a great drama from forming out of a race setting in a movie.

I dunno, man; while gossipmongers like Perez Hilton have been known to spin outlandish BS for its own sake, throwing the name of the Gran Turismo series in to the mix seems kind of... odd. Niche.

The only people that would care are people in the game community. Hardly buzzworthy for mainstream media; it'd be more worthwhile to generate rumors about Prince Harry and Lady wots'ername.

I saw this on the front page and at first thought the worst. But just now, I'm beginning to suspect BS. How many other movie sites are stating this and quite frankly, who besides the fans will know or care about this? Everyone knows what NFS is, Everyone knows what Hot Wheels is and obviously, everyone knows what Fast and Furious is. Who outside this community (and the sim racing community in general) Knows what the hell Gran Turismo is?

The only thing I'd be interested in knowing is the car list for the movie.
