Meanwhile I'm testing the fuel/tyre wear in the lobby...just to be sure I could hold out.

I don't know if I'm going to go crazy with the tire/fuel multipliers. Maybe x2 or x3. I've read that matching the multipliers usually provides for a good experience.

I've tried 6x tyre/7x fuel, the tyres doesn't wear off at all after 3-4 laps. So I tried cranking it up to 12x tyre, very little drop in grip levels after a couple of laps, but good enough to last around 20-25 laps at SS.

As for fuel consumption, it's pretty tricky as they dry out within 5-6 laps for my test. So that'll might show us around 5-6 pit stops throughout the race, maybe lots of refueling and less tyre changing stops. Maybe if we reduce the fuel to 3-4x it should be less tense for fuel consumption.

Not including myself, this is the participation list for Saturday's event thus far:

@LineR32 (?)
@TurboTacho
@Shayden_CPT
@KayX23 (?)

@Shayden_CPT and @KayX23 please send me a friend request on PSN (Satomiblood) if you haven't already done so. This is going to be a private lobby and only players on my friends list will be able to enter.

@RadStewart @Tomsoft @Nick Cannella @GTP_Guido are any of you planning on attending?
@Satomiblood, thanks for not forgetting me! I should be able to make this event Saturday.

After some testing and deliberation, I won't be making any changes to the fuel/tire multipliers. If this race format proves to be a success and I can continue to get consistent participation, we can mess around a little with the multipliers in future events.

@Shayden_CPT I haven't gotten a friend request from you. Please refer to your PMs.

Thanks for organizing the race! It was quite a challenge especially wrestling with the older vintage race cars against the newer race machines.

I've got some pictures from the race start, pretty makes a wonderful wallpaper as well (in fact I did add them to my wallpaper roll).

I appreciate you taking the time to post photos. That’s something that I enjoy seeing in other lobby threads, so it’s great to witness it in here.

I wouldn’t mind doing longer races like this in the future. It was a good first effort, though it was hard to stay motivated due to the lack of pit strategy. I think everyone pitted at least once, which is good, but adjusting the multipliers to keep players on their toes should be the next goal toward refining the overall experience.

I’ll post more thoughts as they come to me.

The tyres and fuel didn't effect the race at all, the 911 could do the 30 laps on a full tank with some short shifting. And I only went into the pits to fix the front aero (Rear ending the GT40 at the start.) and the suspension damage I got from screwing around trying to entertain myself.

I think x2 fuel and x3/x4 tyres would of been better for that race, the grid would of been closer with the fuel saving and tyre selection.

I only glanced through the first few corners of the replay, didn't snap much pictures since it's pretty late into the night.

The 30 laps is just pretty fine, an hour of racing and stuff. I was thinking of a NASCAR style heat where we split into three heats of 10 laps each and then formation for the next heat.

It's true that the lack of pit strategy apart from us getting in for repairs may look a little boring, but at least I've had my fun pushing the GT40 to the limit especially if you noticed that my 2nd repair stop gave me 25 second gap at last position. Moreover, getting a custom gear ratio is something that enabled me to keep up while sliding and grass mowing. I actually did a last minute change to the ratios before joining in, reduced top speed a little more and also for that additional 5th gear to keep my engine in the power band.

I still look forward to the next endurance event, which might keep us on our toes.

I’m going to try out some custom races with 2x fuel and 3x/4x tire depletion to see how it works for another 25-30 lapper. I already have some other tracks in mind for this.

Would everyone be in the mood for another long one on Saturday it should we just stick with a sprint event?

I’m game to try another longer event.
