Gran Turismo Sport Closed Beta Coming March 17: First the US, Then EU Region

I got my first win tonight in the GR.4 GTR on Dragons Trail woo hoo,:D I've got @GTPMcBride to thank for the tune,:cheers: what a machine.:bowdown:

I had all assist off for this race.:crazy:

Had a terrible 3 races in Gr. 3 Dragon Trail.. PD needs to really start doing rolling starts because the first turns are starting to become chaos in lower classes.

@EDK I don't know how you fought through it all man. Especially the last race when the dude tried to clip your back end on that downhill hairpin (Which I took the butt of that)

Also @GTP_Patrick1 Not sure if I caused you to wreck that 2nd race or not cause I know you spun into me and I tried to hit you back forward (Which wasn't very wise) and it caused me to wreck as well.
 
Awful races, but my last race was redemption worthy. Two Gr 4 races at Brands with GTRs that don't know how to race, along with a Genesis in one of them, and then on Dragontrail, some idiot in a white M6 caused a nasty wreck at the hairpin before the chicane. In the second race I spun on the uphill part of the straight before the hairpin because of an invisible bump on the road.
The last race was great though. Started 3rd and I think the 2nd place guy missed a gear shift causing bumps and regrouping. By the S curves it was smooth sailing with Corvette, Corvette (me), and McLaren. Had a nice battle with the McLaren until it lost control on hairpin final lap, then the Corvette in front of me messed up the chicane on the last lap causing me to win the race. Unfortunately the Corvette was ghosted as I went past but it went reverse when i tried avoiding it. Here's a video of it.

Yeah, used to that crap from Prologue, so I guess I can stabilize from their response, not sure.

Wish I could've stayed composed. He ended up spinning out and veering off straight into me (Go figure cause I ran into him that first race where the big pile up happened at the S curves I believe) You held your own though with that C7. I was impressed at how under control you kept that car despite all that chaos 👍

What is "Promotions Folder":confused:. And where to find it?. On my PS4, or in my e-mail. I don't think I have a promotions folder in my E-mail. I have an Outlook E-mail using Hotmail.dk. Anyone please help. But again, I'm lost my hope getting a GT Sport Closed Beta code.:cheers:

I think it is another name for spam folder/junk folder

I got my Beta invite on my Hotmail/Outlook that is tied to my PSN and it was in inbox.

Hmm.

  • Left into the tunnel at the end of the lap at Midfield? Many fast T2's were thrown in the trash there.
  • First Chicane at Seattle Reverse? What's my brake point?
  • Autumn ring forward uphill chicane. Hit it just right or risk death.
  • Trial mountain final complex. To lift or to brake?
  • Grand Valley Downhill chicane. Kind of like the similar corner with over run at Norschleife. Is the car going to slow down, or just understeer into the barrier?
  • Cape Ring freeway onramp loop corner might be the one, actually. Or that stupid jump right before it. In an FR race car with tons of aero. Good luck with that.
  • Oh gawd, the first corner of DF reverse or the last of DF forward. Hang on for dear life, and good luck. I remember at GT4 LAN in the forward direction guys running wide and the car kicking back to the inside pit wall. On GT4, with the car on rails physics.

None of those turns makes my heartbeat go faster like the chicane does. The compromise is immense if you hit the wall or if you get a time penalty.

And PD needs to increase the penalty there, you shouldn't be able to hit those yellow curbs imo. That should be the track limit. Right now, you can eat those curbs a lot.

To be clear, I was not disagreeing with you, just giving my thoughts on other difficult turns. And actually, I missed saying trial mountain reverse first complex, that might be the toughest. And quite similar to this one.

Have you seen how the GT-R GR4 rockets passed everything else off the line? Pretty good is the last term I'd use to describe that BOP.

When I watch a replay and see the car lineup before the race starts, it's pretty easy to predict the racing order after the first and second corners simply by taking note of the drivetrains on the grid. The finishing order is pretty predictable as well.

They should make the GTR gr4 rear wheel drive just like the GT3. Problem (mostly) solved. They're giving themselves too much of a challenge balancing FWD, RWD and 4WD cars in the same class.

That would work and it's how it would be done in a real world balanced series of that nature. Rolling starts would also solve many of the problems as well.

That and short races. If we were racing for an hour with tire wear and fuel consumption, we'd care less about launch.

Bro omg I feel you! I actually really like Dragon trail, and I know people hate the wide curbs but I think thats one of the things that defines that track. I have seen those curbs make and break some drivers lol! The chicane with the wide curbs can be down right scary.

N300 Nordschleife sub 8:30, driverrating "D", which brings me on pole. Kicked out by no later than turn 3 or 4 by a dumb nobreaker. I think I stop these onlineraces now, that's no fun at all.

Hope for the release of the game and relaxed races with relaxed gtp-guys :gtpflag:
