Hi,

N300 Nordschleife sub 8:30, driverrating "D", which brings me on pole. Kicked out by no later than turn 3 or 4 by a dumb nobreaker. I think I stop these onlineraces now, that's no fun at all.

Hope for the release of the game and relaxed races with relaxed gtp-guys :gtpflag:

D.
Just to let you know my friend this has happened to many of us. I would still give it a go though it has got a lot cleaner for me. I am D also.

Hate to admit this... but im so slow with N300 cars... seriously this is no fun. Normally im competitive on the ring... but these N300 cars... impossible to me. Im slow AND unsafe. Guess i stick with GT3s... :(

Yes, and the hope to see an AI competitive.

And again I had the same experience in another Nords race 15 minutes ago. But fought back and ended 4th with my Subaru WRX surrounded by the Evo's and TTs.

Indeed this SR system also has to be improved (and I think it actually will in the final retail version...). Try to work up form D to C but because in two races two guys (or girls?) kicked my butt my SR decreases . Final results showed these drivers with a penalty time but that does not help me.

Gladly this is just the beta. PD has even more work to do :dopey:

Edit: now I see your username. I think we were in the same race. That guy who kicked you was that with a red/yellow flag?

5minutes until I can see if my sandbagging for the Brands Hatch Gr4 race pays off, I probably should have picked a longer track with less turns to make up ground on but lets see what happens.

Edit nope made zero difference top 4 consisted of Genesis and GT-R surprise surprise.

Had a few of my better performances today, managed to make up 10 places on the nurb and got finished 7th on Brands Hatch Indy which I'm horrendous on with the Megane.

Safety Rating is now at 47 now too, woo. :D

I just had a brainwave, What if PD implemented a tier system where the BOP and SR were connected, The higher your sportsmanship rating the more competitive cars your allowed to use, That way the better more sportsmanlike drivers can leave all the crash kiddies behind and the crash kiddies get stuck with the worst cars in all classes they will get sick of it soon enough and hopefully become better players or just leave. It could also work the opposite way whereby if your SR declines enough you get locked out of using certain cars.

If I had to guess in GT fashion cars will become unlocked in the single player hand holding

1st GR.3 Dragon Trail race: qualified well, pretty clean racing, finished 3rd . This bodes well, I thought.

2nd race: Two big crashes all on my own, punted someone due to outbreaking myself, and managed to swipe someone off on a straight because somehow I thought no one was there, and I was stupid enough not to check before moving across. First race where SR went down. What a 'mare!

Gained 1 SR point in the first race at Dragon putting me on 48. Two mistakes of my own making meant no increase in the other two races.

There are more races to do now but I'm lacking the motivation to do them.

Very naughty on the ring @BrainsBush
Thx for butt kicking me too :dopey:

Do you have the replay I only have this screenshot of the results? Because I was thinking the same and in all honesty I thought my driving was okayish? What did I miss? Or where did I go wrong?

In the 3rd Nords race I was on pole and kept it until the last turn and an Evo pushed me off the track in that turn. If I was him I would wait until the straight because he is faster with his Evo anyway. My Subaru WRX ended 2nd. BTW this EVO driver is also an active GTP member but I'm not going to name and shame

Funny to see that only two have SR in blue

Don't worry about it. Hopefully we get to race again soon.

I learnt not to use the 4C in Gr.3 races at Dragon Trail today, did two races with it, both times had a good lead and crashed at the last chicane because it's really hard to go over the kerbs smoothly, luckily still finished 2nd. Switched to the C7 in the next race and managed to win, although still not comfortable through that chicane.

Nurburgring races went a lot better, managed to win all three fairly comfortably thanks to the matchmaking being kind to me. :)

N300 Brands
Race 1 with Subaru: Stupid yellow Audi TT rammed me into ghost mode on T2 lap 1, dooming my race. At least SR stayed at 42.
Race 2 with Lancer: Went better and got some nice overtakes.
Race 3 with Evora: Smooth. I like the Evora though I feel like I'm slamming the brakes just to get it to brake at times.

3 races of gr3 - 2x 3rd and on the last race i was well on the lead on first lap and i hit the infamous "curb of death" 🤬. That hasnt been any problem on qualifying with my ride height.. :odd: have they made it WORST? :ill::lol:

But i was happy (and surprised) to see my 458 gt3 leave others eating dust from the grid. :eek:even passed clean #1 from grid #2 to the first corner.

Nothing special in this video, but the rear view mirror. it was the same in all 3 races:odd:

I think i never seen guys from the forum, my tag is GasMonkey_NL
I will pay extra attention when joining a race. We're wearing the same flag on our racing suit so it must be easy to recognize.
In general I don't see that much Dutchies in the same race. Most of the times a lot of Spanish, UK and German racing friends and today for the first time a good racer from Turkey who won the race.

BTW level D SR52, Any chance we see each other on track?

Took part in 3 races tonight, with the Corvette Gr.3 at Dragon Trail. Won my first race with a decent lead ( :D ) and came 2nd in the other races. Nice, clean racing with the guys I got matched with 👍

I never saw anyone from the forum until tonight. I raced with @BrainsBush , @PJTierney and the one and only @Zlork ! Hopefully get a chance to race with them and more forum users in the future.

There are some truly stupid racers who just don't care about anybody one else on the track. Particularly people who rejoin the track right in front of you without waiting for you to pass. I'm so close to level C, I just hope the racing is better in the higher classes.

agree - shoveling the car inside in a curve from 1-2 car lenghts behind is also quite common..

but mostly clean racing i must say

Tried online races in GT Sport Beta first time today to see how it is. Seems to work well. Two races at Brands Hatch Indy Gr.4 and three at Dragon Trail Gr.3, all felt like hollow victories.

Gr.3 races I thought was going to be more interesting as I hadn't set a time or driven the car I used before, had just enough time to do a lap to qualify. It was good enough for first position for the races by a big margin, probably because I got a low rating from not playing online before? Quite lonely the races, think I was something like six seconds a lap quicker than the person in second so just became some hot lapping practice trying to get close to the top ten leaderboard times, probably a lot of time left in setup.

Yeah, it's the stupid stuff like that which is the most annoying. I think we would all agree that there is going to be some contact which is not on purpose and that's fine. It's the people who think the track belongs to them and they can do whatever they want that are the worst.

The worrying thing is I see quite a lot of people like that in the beta and they all have a pretty good SR value. I don't understand how they have a good SR when they drive like that.

My first few races were like that. Qualified in first with lots of slow people and easy wins. Don't worry the more you race the higher your level and SR will get and you'll get matched with quicker, better drivers.

I try to follow the rule, that the car thats ahead going in to the turn can choose his line and i try to leave room. I do try to leave enough room even for the car behind side by side not to force anyone out of the track.

For some reason the guys ramming to the side on the top places 1st-5th tend to have that certain red and yellow flag. Is that a warning flag or a cultural thing?:lol:

My hatred for the Gr 4 GTR grows each day I'm not given an FR or GTR. Disgusting how I can qualify 4th but drop to 8th by turn 1.

I've gone from E10 to D33 in them five races so hopefully won't take long to get to C rating if that will improve things.
