Guys.... No preorders...

Quick question, are cars able to roll over?

EDK
I've not seen it yet, and not sure I've heard anyone mention it.

And considering some of my banzai runs through the chicane at Dragon Trail while qualifying, I would think one of those might have done it.

This answers your question? and as i said earlier, i just love the sound of engine hitting rev limiter there..

Car will be fairly quickly reset to track. Just ones has a roll stopped while the car is on its roof..

Cheers guys. Epic roll.

Just got an Asus gaming laptop in January with a GTX1070/Win 10 - never have to worry about an XB1 now. Also when GT Sport releases and I finally get a PS4, it'll be exclusively for exclusives.

Would be nice if MS and Sony just forgot about the console hardware and just concentrate on Steam like client apps for pc. And at worst they could offer systems that they themselves think is enough to enjoy their games on for those that dont want to buy a PC and then install the client themselves.

That would kill the sole reason why they're in the business: to have a machine that exclusively plays their products.

The beta gods are smiling upon me and after receiving the GTR GR.4 yesterday, I got gifted the EVO today. Bit late since the update pretty much nerfed the lot -- but happy to have them.

Dear lord I hadn't had it till today - the throttle bug is getting really friggin' irritating.

At one point I had my foot to the floor for a solid three seconds without the engine doing a thing, and multiple times mid-corner the bug would come in and out every few fractions of a second and completely destabilize the car. I hope a fix is coming soon because this is absolutely game breaking.

Have you or anyone else tried turning all of the aids on and back off, if its something stuck on? My gr3 Vantage keeps resetting it self to default setup everytime i start the game. Might be the whole car reset to 0km.. Have to check. Bug reported.

So because I think iRacing's 69 car count is low, and I think GT's 141 count, over 100% more, is acceptable for a modern sim, I'm a hypocrite?

Yeah, a bit. Somehow GTS is OK despite it's somewhat optimistic method of counting "unique" car models. Yet iRacing is not, despite you specifically naming GTS's increased attention to quality over quantity, and that being the exact reason why iRacing has a relatively small car list.

A spade is a spade, mate. I specifically worded it so that I wasn't implying that you were doing it intentionally, more that it's easy to be hypocritical when we have a franchise that we like and are looking for reasons to favour it over another. Which is funny, because there's no need to do so at all. "I enjoy playing GTS" is a fine thing to say.

Now my standards and thinking are in question?

Of course. It's a discussion board. Why wouldn't they be in question?

But there is a fine line between having a discussion and simply making deductions to smash someone's nuts (figuratively - not implying we're all guys here).

No nut smashing going on here. I'm simply questioning whether you aren't applying different standards to GTS and iRacing, because that's sure what it looks like from here. Again, I'm not saying you're doing it intentionally, but saying "70 super high quality cars seems poor" versus "140 high quality cars are OK, because quality>quantity" is not exactly espousing a consistent message. Perhaps there's more to explain as to what exactly is going on there. Perhaps you actually have some inner sense of where the sweet spot for quality vs quantity is and 140 is about right for you. I'd prefer you actually explained it yourself, though.

Regarding the Sportsmanship Rating and Etiquette in Online Races

Please be aware that the Sportsmanship Rating (SR) and Ghosting in the Closed Beta is still undergoing adjustment.
The adjustment of the SR and receiving feedback for it is another objective of the Closed Beta.
Please bear with us while we continue to adjust and improve the SR system.

We are currently evaluating the implementation of the following measures:

1. Adjustment of SR value variation and judgement
2. Measures against intentional disruption of races and beginner races, and measures for matching
3. Improvements in the SR display method

In regards to 1., we are currently evaluating the measures for those who are crashed into during an incident, and whether to hold back SR reduction for wall contact and running off track, while making the SR drop larger for car to car collisions.

In regards to 2., ghosting is implemented for drivers that are Driver Rating (DR) E or D under certain conditions, but we will implement certain improvements for these judgments.
We also intend to implement improvements to prevent advantages gained through ghosting, such as using it to overtake other cars.

We are also taking measures against drivers who purposely disrupt races.

3. Back when we hosted the online test version of GT4, we had discovered already that a rating system that rises and falls very quickly during every race makes drivers nervous and unmotivates people from racing, so we are considering more improvements to how the SR is displayed.

We also expect that in the product version, there will be more users participating which will make the SR system work more effectively. Because the number of participants in the Closed Beta is limited, there is an issue with the matching not working as effectively as it should.

Also, there is a minimum required SR score to rise through each DR class. So it is just as important to raise SR, not just win races. Try to run races as clean as possible.

In addition, please note that there will be a conventional open lobby in the product version.
You will also be able to set a SR restriction on the room setting for the Open Lobby.
(Though your DR and SR will ONLY rise or fall in the Sport Mode).

Thank you for your continued support for the GT Sport Closed Beta.
We await your active participation in the Daily Races.

__________------------__________

Don't know if that information was posted already around here...
That is been posted by PD on the beta support forum, and wow....

So The drivers rating system will only work on the "sport mode" and not the normal personalised online lobbies...
There will be only the ability to set a minimum driver level requirement..

I really like the sound of this. Fantastic news indeed.

This is some pretty great news... :D

I'm B/S as well and I've only seen ghosting when someone spins out or tries to re-enter the track when other cars are around. Seems to be a solid improvement so far from my end.

Yeah these are the exact circumstances for me. Thought they disabled them entirely though.

I've had ghosting yesterday and I'm level B/S DR/SR.

It seems quite intermittent. I'm at level A/S and when recently racing at Dragon Trail I hit the wall at that pesky chicane was happy my car ghosted to let three cars following me go through unharmed. In a subsequent race I was closely following another A/S ranked driver and when he hit the wall in the same place I ended up running into his very solid car.

It's not little, but their fantasy (non VGT) cars are really really well done.

Big upgrade from this

This is from "The little details" thread - thought it'd make more sense to reply here.

Agree. I really like PD's take on custom modded vehicles. My favorite is the 350Z RS - I used that car at least once every play session in GT6. Can't wait to explore all of the Gr. 4 cars and put some custom livery on them - eager to see how they deal with the weight of that Lexus RC-F.

Literally every pre-order I've made (when I actually chose to) never ended up like that. I get what you're saying, but its not an automatic danger zone that should be completely avoided.

It's not an automatic danger zone but it is something that should be completely avoided.

In general or with this game in particular? If in general, I disagree. While I'm not at all advocating that Pre-orders aren't at all bad (After all, I was disgusted with Street Fighter V's so much that I just waited and got the game used because screw the store exclusive crap), I think its abit extreme to mention "No Mans Sky" as an example of why Pre-Order is somehow automatically just a bad idea overall since that game already had signs something was afoot (and frankly, people failing to look past the pretty visuals and getting stung by the finished product as a result). I made all my pre-order decisions after paying close attention and then feeling like it was worth paying for it early for the little bonuses. So far, there hasn't been a PS4 game that's convinced me its worth (although I know two games that are at least trying to).

Old video but still relevant.
