So we'll finally see the direct drive wheel. Can't wait to see how high a wheel can cost.

side-note: We haven't gotten a pre-E3 GTSport trailer -- which means they're saving something for the conference (as you'd expect).

Thomas from Fanatec is pretty convinced that the new wheel is not a direct drive wheel.

This will not happen and we can tell that loud and clear without feeding speculations and false rumors.

And I doubt that anobody else will bring a DD wheel at this price point at this time. Direct Drive for 700€ is really just a rumor which is probably based on a translation or communication error. Plenty of people here will be dissapointed.

And a good single drive with high power servo motor is likely to give much better results than a bad DD with a small stepper motor with plenty of cogging and low torque. Trust me because we are working on this topic ;)

He must know more than me, but I don't think we got pricing rumors yet. Also why would TM not use a servo motor (it's what they use in the T300)?
 
We will find out this weekend but don't be surprised if it's not what we all think.

Although a good DD wheel in that price range would be a game changer and a huge development for the peripheral market.

It seems quite intermittent. I'm at level A/S and when recently racing at Dragon Trail I hit the wall at that pesky chicane was happy my car ghosted to let three cars following me go through unharmed. In a subsequent race I was closely following another A/S ranked driver and when he hit the wall in the same place I ended up running into his very solid car.

Having an OK run at Dragon last night, N300, last corner, last lap, got punted straight into the gravel under braking. Cost 4 positions. I'd love to name-n-shame...
 
Hi guys! Why does my car experience a loss of power coming out of a corner -- i tried to accelerate as hard it could but it won't respond then a second or later it will respond to my input.. It's quite annoying considering you're losing time ahead and behind. This happened too often to me. My DR/SR is already D/S though..

It could be the bug, but if you have traction control on at any level, that's the likely culprit. Even at the lowest setting I find it unnecessarily anxious to intervene.

Not sure I agree- I observed this under turning and braking as well- as if the entire controller was cutting in and out. Bought a few lengths of guardrail at the Ring because of it. No trouble last night- we'll see how it goes.
 
How the h... Did i meet the wors rammers for weeks in a SR S race?? How do these ...holes like jon59jo and Lucky_Joice end up with the SR of S in the first place?? Absolutely idiotic to go to sr/s race and push people off the track..

I also think they should dump the whole N300 class with current physics.. Not enjoyable at all to drive the cars that feel like a 2 ton snails on ice with no feedback what so ever.. I think the tyre model/ physics is just too weak for these slow cars.

Just aborted a race for the first time.. Just didnt have any motivation to crawl it through..

This is concerns that have been in place since the rating system was announced. It'll be impossible to completely weed out people that cause grief to others.

He can be an amazing racer and have friends or family over that don't know how to play.
He can be good while sober, but can be playing it completely wasted and doing absolutely horrible. <personal experience with me :lol:
Or he can just be someone that likes to mess around every once in a while.

Why I still find it hard to believe that they will rest the entire game's success on PvP online - it has gotten much better since PS3, but I don't see them putting all their chips in the PvP basket.

This class COULD be a lot of fun- close to what some of us drive every day, I'm guessing. (Mazda 3S here...) However, we need better tire/brake modeling and a LOT more diversity- why 3 AWD options, but only 1 each FR, MR? How about the Camaro 1LE V6- it's gotten a lot of great press. Street version of the Alfa 4C? Perfect! GTI's/Golf R's? BMW 135/235/Z4? MB SLK's? Current Skyline/Infiniti G coupes? Altezza/Lexus IS? Ecoboost Mustang? The alternative could be to segregate the cars like GT6 does- FR's one day, FF's the next, and so on, or just do one-make days. (Imagine 16 Evoras sliding all over creation going into T2 at Dragon...) Maybe open up the historical gates a bit- S2000, RX-8, S15 Silvia?

SR is way too easy to gain at the moment. There are a few who I frequently see getting negative or neutral SR at the end of races, yet they still have S rating.

I don't think I've met either of those you mention before, but I did have the misfortune to tangle with Lucky_Joice in the last 'ring race today. I'd overtaken him quite cleanly, with only a little bump because he turned in on me, we both stayed on the road fine. Little later he belts up the inside taking us both off the track, and I must admit as we both got going again I took the chance for revenge :mad: I mention it now because @Lord Protector might have video, but only of the revenge!
 
Had some GREAT races tonight, including an epic and CLEAN Mustang vs. Mustang run with Tycoblade at Willow. Broke my curse and moved up a DR rank. I will come clean on Dragon- I love everything about EXCEPT that #$^%* chicane. I really hope the designers open that up some- it's just a crash point.
