Poly is a textbook case of inefficiency. All these premium cars ultra detailed too good for the PS3 hardware? Today, they seem useless. D1GP, Pikes Peak, Goodwood, Pebble Beach, Super GT, Sema Show, Tokyo Auto Salon : all sponsored by Gran Turismo for years. For now, nowhere to be seen. Most of the people loved the car collecting aspect of GT, we simply asked to fix the flaws like a bad AI, sound, standard cars... Instead of that, they give us a eSport game with a modern focus, turning away from the famous Gran Turismo cars (JDMs, classics, Super GT...)
Where are the legendary original tracks (Grand Valley, Trial Mountain, Seattle...)? IMO, that's not the best way to celebrate the 20 years of GT.
Rant over.

That feeling when your country is represented in GT Sport by an oil company.:dopey:

(ICYMI, Pertamina is an Indonesian oil company that partnered with Lamborghini as their official fuel/lubricant supplier notably for the Huracan racecars.)

Glad someone noticed! I also kinda happy to see the that. Idk if it is going to be viral here... And yes Pertamina is an official lubricant/fuel supplier for Lamborghini, as Ferrari with Shell and Mercedes with Petronas.

Regarding the new trailer no doubt PD already took the cake right here (best GTS trailer so far since the reveal). And new theme just like an epic adventure movie score (I guess Kaz is too much playing RPG kind of stuff ).

"Pit lane", "Starting grid" and "cockpit" sections are pretty interesting.
"Cockpit" picture featuring Suzuka, by the way.

That RS01 cockpit shot has already existed since the PSX 2016 blowout. But no one knew that Suzuka wasn't just a Scape back then

I have a question? Now that we finally got a Release Period of fall 2017 How long till the official car list is reveal? :)
Once they comfirm the McLaren P1 being in GTS...

JK :D

As long as they are actually aiming to hit the deadline and be ready to release it then I would say maybe one month away from the final release date.

If a delay happens then...probably we won't get the full list this year.

"The Ultimate Driving Simulator"

Sounds exaggerated, but all I can say is prove it PD. Prove it that this GT will be the best of the best and even successful than GT3. Show the same stuff we have seen on trailer, revised physics also with other new features and we are all happy 👍. We will wait until fall season

Remember when it used to have the "The Real Driving Simulator" slogan?
---
PD seems to really want to convince everyone that they are going in a totally different direction than before.

Sure, it works in their golden days of GT, now things is a bit different. Hopefully the statement on their tweet is becoming the truth.

Yes, I'm saying it ... There will be no Pikes Peak Hill Climb in GTS

My opinion. It's not coming, ... not one single image of it yet, with the race only a week away.

They have been a 'title sponsor' of the race for several years.
They were here a few years ago scanning it. That, their last visit, as far as I know.
If they had a version worth driving, they would be extracting some mileage from the effort.

Codemasters knocked it out of the park, and that may have taken Kaz a little by surprise.
My belief is that PD's beta versions of Pikes Peak were not close enough to that level,
and that Kaz would rather keep it out, than to have it compared unfavorably.

Someday maybe, ... but for now, at least we still have DiRT Rally on the shelf.

When will people learn?

Hoping that GTP's meeting with PD clears up this whole offline game progression debate.

What does that mean? Nobody has a clue, does that mean everything from GT1-GT6 will be in this game? Of course not because all it is marketing mumble jumble it could mean anything. I'm sure everyone is going to tell me EXACTLY what means without having a clue

We all "assumed" this but this kind of confirms it

So we can make confirmations/assumption based off of screen shots, but we can't make confirmations/assumptions based off of direct quotes from Kaz referring to existence of offline features because we "don't have a clue"?

Seriously? Why are the premium models unused, as you notice the LOD quality is downscaled whilst gameplay, and what difference would it make with the premium models...also using subsurface modifiers on the premium car models is a simple enhancement with most modelling softwares.

NSX gr.B and Quattro S1 Pikes Peak.

OMG I thought GTS will only have recent models, but this surely a pleasant surprise and open possibilities for older cars included in GTS, whether it is available on day one or DLC.

Also @queleuleu did you surprised? I think anybody wouldn't have thought this after the latest trailer showed up. But I know you and some members here if I remember want older cars since the reveal so this is a good sign  👍

From the Interview with Jordan.

"GTP: A lot of fans have noticed that we’ve seen only new cars in GT Sport so far. Will we see any older, classic cars in the game?"
"KY: Three years ago, we basically reset all the car models in the game, to start building them from scratch. Now, the models have been created at a quality that will last for ten years from this point on. We intend to add more and more models in future updates, so you don’t have to worry about that. We have a lot of plans to add content post-launch." 👍

@bdj57 I think it's another proof that Pikes Peak will be in GTSport (maybe not day one). TBH, I don't believe Kaz when he says : "Three years ago, we basically reset all the car models in the game, to start building them from scratch." The 3D models are simply too good, I guess they need to rework shaders and add polygons here and there.
