I dont get why people want damage so much......

The only thing would like is that the cars getting dirty in a race.....

Yeah, Damage in single player mode or racing with your friends is fine but no so much in online. There are so many dirty driver out there that will just ruin your race. From my experience most online races I joined car damage are off most of the time.

Yeah i get that but i hate to race with a car that is heavenly damaged, i play 3rd person most of the time because i like the car that iam driving so much that i want to see it in al its GT Sport porn models!

I like nice cars i love cars so i dont want them damaged! Haha

Dynamic wheater.... mha i like some races in rain etc but dont care realey if its dynamic or not. I would like it but wont miss it, rain i would miss so the better showing that soon haha ;)

Si sporcano :D

So Kaz says you can turn up the damage (hopefully way up). PSVR is limited to 1v1 races.
What?!? PSVR only 1vs1 against AI. That's a real bummer. Driveclub VR and Dirt Rally VR is online against a full pack of other racers or offline against AI. Then the graphics of GT Sport in PSVR must be next level? What else could be the reason?

The nice thing about heavy damage in online, is it forces even the cleanest of drivers and those with the highest sportsmanship to drive even cleaner. Without damage, when there is a car spinning near the front of the pack, most players fly through at full throttle and hope for the best, which usually turns out poorly for several players. With heavy damage everyone has to be cautious, as any impact regardless of fault could ruin your race. It can be frustrating from time to time when someone spins in front of you and you have nowhere to go, but that also happens in real life racing, which is why people like it and want it to be available as an option. It also impacts the strategy for long races (30+ minutes), as you might be able to put off a small amount of damage until a gas/tire stop, but heavy damage will require an unschedule stop, putting the pressure on to try and make up time. In GT5/GT6 I always preferred lobbies with heavy damage enabled, and those were usually not only the closest and most exhilarating races, but also the cleanest. It also tends to reduce the use of 'shortcuts' that occasionally result in hitting a barrier (e.g. Dragon Trail - Seaside chicane), as getting it wrong once could cost the race.

Yes until you get ramed off and your car is done.....

Because cars in real life are made of dent resistant unobtainium.

This is no real life its a video game, why all the it must be real stuff? I dont play Asetto because its to real to little game. GT amd Forza are nice and fun racing games as they always bin. So dont come with "the real driving simulator" because thats bin there since uhhh al the GTs that never where real simulators. And see post above online it screws you if you get rammed of track. What still happens allot even in S class....

I'm very curious how they are going to make this game economy work with the severely limited offline portion of the game. The average finish is going to be 7th or 8th online, assuming full rooms, and half the racers are going to be 9th to 16th every race. Payouts for those positions were meagre to say the least in previous games, so some sort of adjustment to prize winnings is going to be crucial to advancement through the game. In a game focused on eSports and racing online, a game economy doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Perhaps there are lots of free cars to be given out for various events and accomplishments?

I agree, a currency system doesn't make much sense in an online only environment.

We don't know what all 100 events in the offline mode have to offer yet (I think we really only know two or three of them for sure), but I'd be willing to bet that there are some offline racing events within the 100 events as well seasonal events in online mode.

To be honest, we had a fairly good breakdown of what the offline mode consists of, and a lot of them where training videos/instructional videos, with a lot of "learn the Track", "overtake so and so" "complete this section(don't recall it being full tracks, I'm pretty sure it was broken up into pieces) in x amount of time" situations, as well as teaching you how to drive respectfully online. I'm not holding my breath, but I would love to be pleasantly surprised.

Phew, that was a tough one. Ok. There is tons of real life in these video games, they're specifically trying to mimic real life, so I would say that doesn't hold much weight here. The funny thing about how it'll screw you online.. that's entirely the point, and should do a damn good job at deterring some griefers. You're giving the rammers free reign of the place to do what they want with little repercussion, aside from the rating system. The implementation of damage is wanted by many because it offers a greater risk/reward, and will definitely make things more interesting. Sure, if you get binned, you're likely loosing your place in the race or might not even finish, but I like the unpredictability in online.

Now, offline is another story, I'd usually leave damage and whatnot off in that situation, as Ai in games can be a bit sporadic.

0:45 So Dragon Trail is set in Croatia it seems. Small thing but i was surprised it didn't say something like "PDI" original track.

Thats awesome, even though I can't recognize the location of it, its so good to see my home country represented. Been waiting on it since DiRT 2 days.

Edit: tried to find it, and mountain appears to be Biokovo, with track set somewhere near town of Baska Voda.

...Whether it be the campaign mode, or the offline gameplay, or the open lobbies, everthing has been raised in quality and there is more of it, so there is nothing to worry about...
Sounds promising
GTP: A lot of fans have noticed that we’ve seen only new cars in GT Sport so far. Will we see any older, classic cars in the game?
KY: Three years ago, we basically reset all the car models in the game, to start building them from scratch. Now, the models have been created at a quality that will last for ten years from this point on. We intend to add more and more models in future updates, so you don’t have to worry about that. We have a lot of plans to add content post-launch.
That's not really an answer to the question, Kaz

Looks like we can let out a big sigh of relief.

I think you missed Mitsubishi EVO gr.4, Peugeot RCZ gr.n and Lamborghini Huracan gr.n. Is the M4 the secret yellow car in the Huracan Gr. 4 photo?

If it really has more features than ever, and this is just a fraction of the game, i have a whole new hope for the final game again.

That bit of the interview is actually huge. That, or i'm being misled by my expectations for a nice campaign mode and proper car roster.

That says absolutely nothing, though.

"GTP: The competition aspect of Gran Turismo Sport is exciting, but many long-time fans of the series are worried about the more traditional, classic parts of the game. Can you reassure them that will still be part of GT Sport?
KY: Gran Turismo Sport is actually going to contain more features than any other game in the series to date. Nothing has been dropped, things have only been added. Whether it be the campaign mode, or the offline gameplay, or the open lobbies, everthing has been raised in quality and there is more of it, so there is nothing to worry about. Nothing has been dropped.

The closed beta is really just one snippet of the whole Gran Turismo Sport experience. It’s just one part of it, and it’s also the most stressful part of the experience, so it’s important that we have the support of the community to help test it out."

*I don't think I'm reading too far into this - looks like we can plan on there being some offline racing that goes towards currency collection. We'll see though, I suppose, but it looks pretty clear.

Some of the car class groupings continue to baffle me from the trailer and screenshots.
  • Mazda 6 should be Gr.4 or some TC spec instead of Gr.3
  • RCZ should really be in Gr.4 rather than Gr.3. I can excuse the Gr.B version.
  • Who's idea was it to put a Veyron in Gr.4?
  • PD probably couldn't get the 911 GT3-R so they made a Gr.3 Beetle thinking nobody would notice the difference. #ClarksonJokes

What's the problem with the Mazda 6 being in Gr.3? Size wise is not far off an Evo X or WRX. Probably smaller than an M6 (which is a real GT3 car).

The RCZ will probably get a Gr.4 version, but this is not your point. I don't see a problem with it being in Gr.3, Peugeot does not have anything else for that class apart from the VGT so it fits well in the class and gives people an alternative to the VGT, the same applies for VW with the Beetle.

No problem with the Bugatti either, replace the W16 with a twin-turbo V8, remove all the road car extras in the interior, lighter wheels, brakes, transmission, body panels and there you go, a lightweight Veyron, for those who want to compete for Bugatti.
